Tree Service reviews in Homewood

    ACE Tree Service
They came quickly and supplied an estimate that was half the price of another estimate to remove a large tree and grind the stump, remove several large shrubs and grind their stumps, and remove some branches hanging over the house. The only delay was getting the shrub stumps ground near the house that were near the gas and water lines. Apparently, that required different equipment and a different operator.

I needed 2 trees removed. The owner came out immediately and gave a thorough explanation of what was involved. I felt that I would be in good hands and intended to hire him. However, we decided at the last minutes not to take down the trees.

Craig's Quality Tree & Demolition Service
Craig came by to immediately give an estimate for the work to be done. The amount of limb cutting for the two trees was extensive and the estimate was very reasonable. Craig offered to take one tree totally down for a little extra, but the owner of the house decided against this. The tree cutting crew came out two weeks later. They were friendly and easy to have around. They went the extra mile in their work to make sure the tree looked balanced and the yard was clean. I can't say enough good about them. Great price and professional service.

    Gray's Tree Service
It was the worst experience I've ever had with a business. I can't even go into the details. It would take more space than I'm allowed. Briefly, they made repeated mistakes and then wouldn't adequately rectify the problems. Average work with horrible customer service. We dealt with them for months and months for what was supposed to be a single day job. Just be forewarned: they were by far the cheapest quote for a reason. Eventually we got it worked out well enough to move on. But the experience was terrible and I'll never get that time back.

    GARY WEBB HORTICULTURISTS
He sends the same people all the time. You get to know them very well. If I have any problems, they are very responsive whether it's weeds or we have a lot of leaves that certainly have to get cleaned up. They're really meticulous with their work. They even organized my garden tools when I just left and hang it out. I came home to find it all neatly organized. It's a really, really conscientious group of people. He is expensive. Not many people can afford $450. I think that you get value for that but it is expensive.

    GHOLSTON TREE SVC
They left my yard cleaner than they found it. Hit the ground working and were very professional. I heard no foul language and they respected our privacy. I could not have asked for better. They handled a big job professionally.

    Gray's Tree Svc
Very professional company. Overall phone interaction was superb. I had to call back a couple of times to clarify things, but my concerns were accurately understood and given to the service writer.
The writer who came to estimate the job came twice, once when I wasn't home yet, and then again when I said I wanted him to bid the clearing of the brush as well as the stump grinding. I had initially called about the stump but expected to be able to meet with them and show them the rest at that time. He quickly came back out and bid the whole thing.
Honestly, I expected more expense for the amount of clearing required. I had them tear out to about 6 inches down below level, but didn't have them do any yard prep for sod, so it was left fairly rough (by choice).
They were extremely thorough and prompt. The tech who did the work called ahead and gave an accurate time for his arrival. He had a question about the job which he called me about before starting, which was a great decision on his part. Some guys would just do whatever they thought and leave, but he took the time to make sure it was what I wanted.
His cleanup crew came the next day and left no debris of any kind where the 8-foot high stack of brush was piled.
    Will definitely use them again!

Did great work. On time and on budget. Very professional. Adam is great. Only drawback. I was told the truck that would come out the following morning to pick up the trees would arrive at 9 and it showed up before 7am. It was quite loud and I'm sure some of my neighbors got woke up.

    RICK LEE'S TREE & STUMP
We had a crab apple tree stump in the front yard.  Since this is a 'garden home', the yard is small and literally crisscrossed by electrical, water, sewer, cable and phone lines.  Rick is very cautious, and on his first visit to see the job he advised us to have AT&T come out and move the phone lines out of harm's way.  AT&T was prompt about sending someone to put in a temporary line, opening the way for us to remove the stump.  Rich arrived as promised and worked very carefully, removing the stump and a myriad of roots that had spread above ground.  No utilities were damaged and the root was reduced to pulp. All in all the job only took about 30 minutes.  By hand, however, this would have been a two day job at least.  Worth every penny.

    ACE Tree Service
ACE Tree Service was impressive.  I called for an estimate at 9a on Tuesday morning, before my wife could turn around, someone was already out estimating the job.  They gave what I thought was an unbeatable price, and told us that they could come the next day to remove 3 large trees and 4 smaller trees.  They started the job at 2p and were done before 7p.  The team was brutally efficient and amazing to watch, particularly with the use of the crane.  The neighbors and I were in awe of the acrobatics and the way that they lifted huge limbs over the roof with ease and then expertly dissected the trees down.  They cleaned everything up and barely left a trace in our yard, driveway, or the street.  Would hire them again in a heartbeat.
