Called the company Friday morning after one of the springs on my garage door had broken.  Person took information over phone and called back in a very few minutes to schedule earliest possible appointment, which was Monday between 1 and 4.  Technician called before 1 o'clock on Monday to indicate that he was on the way.  All went well.  Technician knew what he was doing. He worked quickly and efficiently.  Would definitely use this company for any future garage door service or repairs.

Charles and his helper arrived a half hour early ? very personable but low-key guys. They went right to work and discovered that the stubborn door merely had dirt-dauber nests in the tracks. They cleaned out the tracks, oiled the wheels and tracks, and worked the door up and down. Fixed! Then Charles looked over the other door and said it was in good condition but working a little too hard. So he cleaned out the tracks there and applied oil here and there and the door returned to its old smooth self. He didn't charge me for the worked I'd requested online (2 x $77) but rather for the work he did ? $49.99 total. Integrity.

We had a mishap with our garage door, and Charles was extremely responsive.  He came the same morning and banged the panels back into place so that we could use it until we replaced or repaired it.  I was undecided which route to take, and Charles was patient with me and even told me he wouldn't charge me for the visit if I didn't opt for replacement.  I decided to have him replace it, and he ordered the door and came back and installed the door by himself (amazing), and charged me what he had quoted.
My only caveat is that he doesn't seem to be set up to deal with wooden doors.  To be fair, he tried to discourage me from going with a wooden door because it would have to be painted and might take longer to order.  However, because of the age and look of the house a metal door would have looked odd.  So I insisted on a wooden door and he told me it would arrive primed.  I'm not sure whether his supplier sent the wrong door, but I didn't realize that it wasn't primed until it was installed.  In response to my question about it, Charles said it was primed (I thought it might have been some kind of clear coat, but closer examination showed me that that was not the case). My painter bailed me out by coming out that same day and priming it, which was crucial because it rained buckets the next day.  Later I was reading all the little stickers from the manufacturer and learned that their warranty is no good unless the door is primed and painted before assembly (apparently so moisture can't get under the hardware).
I marked on the review form that I would use Charles again, and I would, if I wanted a metal door.  For a wooden door I would go with someone who is more set up to deal with that.

They were great and very accommodating.  We accidentally had the wrong address on Angie's List somehow and the Garage door company was able to reschedule for that same day.  We caught them right before they left to meet us in a complete different city.  We will be using them again for our garage door needs should we have them in the future.  They were quick and did a great job!

My installation appointment was for 9:00am on May 1st.  The head installer, Greg, called at 8:00am to say that they had worked on their previous customer's job until midnight and they still were not finished, so could they reschedule for later in the day.  They came at 11:00am and got right to work removing the old wood doors and rails.  I went back to my office, and when I returned, they were nearing completion of the installation, but said they needed to come back in the morning to finish up with trim and to install one of the door openers (they needed some more wood to install it properly).  They came back at 8:30 today and completed the job.  Greg managed to salvage one of my existing openers and provided me with a new remote control, a very pleasant surprise.  The new doors operate smoothly, fit tightly, and the wood-grain finish looks fabulous!  The workers were careful to clean up after themselves, in fact they volunteered to haul off some additional "junk" for me, along with the remains of my old doors & equipment..  I am very satisfied.  The curb appeal of my house has increased at least 100%!

    Precision Door Service Inc
Both of our garage doors were out of balance.  I had repaired them in the past and installed the operators myself,  but felt it was time they had professional attention (we've lived here 35 years and previously I'm the only one who's serviced them).  Called Precision in the morning and Marvin was at the house by 2:30 as promised.  He was professional, thorough and knowledgeable.  As I expected, he recommended overhauling both doors, replacing most of the moving parts except for the doors themselves which he said were in good shape.  He wanted to use torsion springs, but was unable because of clearance problems.  So he replaced all rollers, cables, pulleys, extension springs, clamps, etc. Now the door operators work much easier since the doors are balanced and they are much quieter with the new rollers.  The only questionable aspect of the repair was cost.  The $369 cost per door seemed high especially since I had bought springs before and had a concept of what they cost, and taking into account the time he spent (he was done within 2 or 2 1/2 hours).  But I didn't have anything to compare to, and I was impressed with Marvin's professionalism, so I decided to go ahead.  I am pleased with the work and glad I called Precision.  Marvin called back a couple of weeks later to followup and make sure everything was still working fine.  I recommend Precision, but you may want to compare costs if the work is major.

Garage door opener wouldn't consistently open door or would only open door partially. Called for service on a Thursday, Charles McDonald came by on Saturday. Appointment was scheduled for 2pm, I went out that morning and returned at 1pm to find Charles waiting for us. Polite and professional, he explained that he was running ahead of schedule but he offered to wait until 2pm to fix our garage door opener if that was more convenient for us. Needless to say we asked him to start right away. He quickly fixed the problem and charged us exactly what we were expecting based on the over-the-phone estimate. I will call Charles again whenever I have a problem with my garage door.

    Door Doctors The
I called the office on Wednesday to schedule a visit for Friday and was told I would be called back the next day with an estimated time. The call back the next day wasn't until after 6 pm, but the lady who called apologized for the lateness of the call and told me to expect someone the following day between 10 and 12. Tom, the owner came and was very punctual. He diagnosed the problem quickly (worn plastic teeth on drive shaft) and had the right replacement piece on the truck. He replaced the drive shaft, adjusted the door, lubricated the moving parts (and told me what to use myself for maintenance) and even took the time to find a replacement part in his truck for our missing light bulb cover, which he gave us and installed for free. I had chosen Door Doctor because other Angie's List reports gave me the impression that they would repair what could be repaired rather than try to sell new openers, and that was the case here. I would definitely use them again.
