    DEAN'S TV SERVICES
Had a Large 60" TV not working, I dropped TV off and a day later got call that the TV was working.  Owner kept it running for a week and then I picked it up.  Only got charged the diagnosis fee.  It has worked fine for the past 2 weeks since bringing it back home.

Everything went great. Mr. Dean was very knowledgeable and professional. The prices were fair and he had both of our TV's fixed and running as good as new in great time.

    SOUTH TELEVISION REPAIR
Initially contacted provider via phone.  Explained problem with TV and he advised to bring unit for repair.  Provided estimated diagnotic cost and course of actions via phone conversation.  Arrived with TV 2 days later and he was very courteous and explained everything he would do in advance with projected cost.  Staff was professiona;l, friendly and organized.  About 4 hours later recived phone call advising projected cost to repair unit exceeded cost for replacement TV.  He provided estimate for insurance if I so decided.  Total diagnotics cost was $95.00 which included disposal of old unit.  Again cannot convey how professional and courteous the staff was.  Additinally exceptional marks for rapid service and response.

LAKE CITY TV SALES & SVC
We dropped the TV off on a Saturday morning.  We received a call Monday telling us what was wrong with the TV and the cost to repair it.  Repairs were completed by the next morning and we had the TV picked up before lunch!  Total cost was $180.  Estimates we read on online forums for the same fix were $250-$400.  Would definitely recommend and use this company again.

failed front panel which means my TV is not economically repairable. He did not charge for this service. I had previous taken this TV to American Video Service, 2607 Triana Blvd, Huntsville, AL, 256-536-6992, and George determined my TV had a failed front panel. Since my TV was about three years old and cost $1699 I wanted a second opinion. Both opinions were the same, a failed front panel. George had another TV of the same exact model which had a failed front panel too. He told me this is a common failure for this model.

During the April 2011 storm we had a power outage that surged back on before it completely went out for a over a week. After the power was restored we noticed that the right side of our TV was flickering. At first it wasn't too bad but after a short while the flickering seemed to involving more and more of the screen.  I called AVS and they were very informative over the phone about my options regarding a service call and how to schedule an in-home diagnostic of the problem. I opted for the in-home check and the technician that came to my home was friendly and efficient. He left me with a lightening affidavit that I could submit to my home insurance company that described the nature of the problem and what it would take to repair the TV. It was nice to learn up front that the repair parts would be more than the replacement cost. I guess we will have to get a new TV.

It went fine. It took a couple of weeks for repair, the wait was for the delivery of parts. The owner was knowledgable, outgoing and nice. The price was reasonable. I would recommend them.

They were very professional and performed the work as promised. Since I don't have a common smart phone, my choices for repair providers were limited. These guys ordered the part and had my phone back to me on the same day. They even give a guarantee (I think it was 30 days) on their repair service. There were a couple of things I wasn't too happy with: I had to pay up front, and the repair wasn't absolutely perfect. However, it was extremely close to perfect so I would go back.

Called AVS, had to wait a long time, but finally talked to someone. Told them my exact problem, type, model of my TV. Said they would send out a service man on Thurs at 4pm, it would cost me $91.00 but I could add that to the repair cost. I was home at 3:30pm. Got a call at 4:30pm informing me He was running late and was still in Tennesse, but could still make it by if I wanted him to. I said yes since I already waited so lont. He arrived at 8:30pm, came to the tv and checked it out for 10 mins and told me it as broke. Ok, I told him I already knew this, but he said they send out someone just in case it was a small problem he could have fixed. Told me they could come and pick it up Sat. morning, I agreed and paid him $91.00. Called AVS on Friday to confirm the time they were coming. It took 3 trys to finally get thru. The Manager came on the line and told me they were not going to pick it up becuase they could not find the parts to repair the TV, I told him you have not even took it in to see whats wrong with it. Said it could only be these 3 thing and any one of those parts are not in the system.  That would have been nice to know when I first called and told them What brand my tv is. Anyway no service and out $91.00

    ALABAMA-DIXIE TV & STEREO RPR
II had a very bad experience with this guy.  Our TV had an intermittent problem, where the on-off switch sometimes did not work.  When we took it in, it was not working.  But I told him that the problem was intermittent, and that it may very well appear to work when he first tries it.  A few days later, he said it was fixed, and I picked it up and paid the bill.  He supposedly changed the on-off switch.  When I got it home, it worked at first, but later this evening did not.  It seemed to have exactly the same problem as when I took it in.  So, I took it back and told him that he apparently did not fix it.  He blew up at me, saying that I must have blown the new switch by putting it on a bad circuit or something.  Or that the TV had gotten hit by a surge from lightning.  He was extremely rude.  But, he did take it and keep it for a few days, and called and told me that it was fixed.  When I picked it up, he would barely speak to me or look at me.  Sure enough, it was indeed fixed that time.  We never had another problem.   What was evident to me was that he charged me for a repair the first time that he did not actually do.  I did not directly accuse him of cheating me, but I was quite sure about it.  At least I got the repair the second time.  But this is a dishonest man.  I would never deal with him again.
