What went wrong: 1. I was charged an extra $225.00 for workers to take a 1” bow out of a roof board that they nailed up with a 1” bow in it (see photo). 2. Gutters were not installed correctly. They were simply lowered so that I now have exactly the same problem in a different location (see photos). 3. Water is still leaking between gutter and facia board because the gutter flashing between the gap created between the shingles and the gutter due to lowering the gutter instead of fixing the problem (see photos). 4. I am now missing a ladder which mysteriously disappeared the same time the work crew did. After repeated unanswered phone calls, I give up trying to resolve this issue with Eric. I had the feeling the main concern of the work crew was finishing as fast as humanly possible regardless of the quality of the work left behind. Needless to say I will be reporting this to the Better Business Bureau and if necessary, filing a claim in Small Claims Court.

At 4:45pm. I CALLED THEM to ask where the Service person was and was told they could not make it due to weather. NO ONE BOTHERED TO CALL AND TELL ME THIS. I TOOK OFF HALF A DAY OF WORK TO WAIT FOR SOMEONE WHO NEVER SHOWED AND DIDN'T BOTHER TO CALL.. Updated, 7/4/17: THE OWNEN OF M&N AND HIS WIFE HAVE SENT ME AT LEAST 30 HARASSING TEXT MESSAGES SINCE I LEFT A BAD REVIEW ON ANGIE'S LIST (I HAVE KEPT ALL OF THEM IN CASE I NEED TO GET A RESTRAINING ORDER). THEY ALSO POSTED A BOGUS CRAIG'S LIST AD FOR A FREE TRUCK USING MY NAME AND NUMBER (I CONTACTED CRAIG'S LIST AND ASK THEM TO VERIFY THE PERSON POSTING THE AD WAS WHO I SUSPECTED) DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY AT YOUR OWN RISK!

It was an amazing experience. The house was built in 1987 and it now looks like a brand new home. The work was done in a professional capacity with quality work and materials. I felt as though he was working on his own home. He did such an amazing job that I am going to use him to get my house ready for sale. I love the house.

Perfect. I don't know what we would have done with out these guys!! Allen Vandergriff is in my speed dial for any problem I have. He is one of the best people I know - period - business or otherwise. He knows his stuff and he does what he says he will do. No matter how large the job, I am confident that Allen and his crew can get it done. I am happy to recommend them. I am confident you will be too.

We had such a great experience with Deckbuilders. ?We actually contacted them last year for a quote and after looking through their website, we found so many options. ?Each time I had a question about an option/change and the cost, Brian (the owner) was very prompt and responded either by text or by email. ?In the end, we just couldn't do it last year and when I contacted him this spring, I was very happy to find out the quote would be the exact same as he had supplied last year. ?We did have to wait about 9 weeks for our deck to be done, but it was well worth the wait. ? Again, Brian was very quick to answer our questions and we had gone back and forth so much over the last year that when he came out to meet us and go over the details, it only took about 10 minutes. ?I did ask him to move our stairs and he suggested a different location for the stairs which has worked out even better than I thought it would. ? We didn't see them when they tore down the old deck since we were at work, but they cleaned up the entire area and also placed boards in front of the doors so nobody would accidentally walk outside. ?Brian called me later that night to make sure I was happy with the yard, and make sure nothing was in our way. ?They did leave some supplies in our side yard overnight but it was very neat, clean, and organized so it really wasn't a problem. ? The crew was incredibly professional, dressed in matching shirts with the company logo?(which is actually very important and impressive to me) and were all very friendly to myself and my toddler who was very excited to see all the work going on. ?The guys were here at 7:00 am just as Brian said they would be. ?All the supplies were delivered shortly thereafter and the delivery guy and 4 workers made sure not to block the road since it was school bus pickup time in our area. ?Brian chatted with me for a few minutes, made sure we were happy with the plan, and started working right away. ? We left for work and school and when I texted Brian at noon for pictures he told me I was to late and they were already on their way to the next job. ?When I came home, I was so very happy with the professional job they had done. ?It is a basic deck, but it has more rails and top sections than our old deck and feel so very much more solid. ?They had so many inexpensive upgrade options as well that it was just a wonderful experience. ?We had quotes from 3 other places, and this was the median quote, but the quality of the decks on their website blew away the competition. ?I would highly recommend Deckbuilders to anyone. ?

From the get-go, Brian was always very responsive.  I don't find this often in a contractor, and is a huge plus in my book.
After the initial meeting to go over the deck project, I received a very detailed line-by-line estimate.  This was another huge plus, as I was able to quickly gain an understanding that we were on the same page of what the final product would entail.  This has been one of the best detailed estimate for a project that I've received.
It took about 2 months to start the project, as they had many other projects to complete first, and it was at the beginning of summer, which I imagine is a busy time for outdoor contractors.  Though once they started, it went up very quick.  The team was always very curteous.  If I had questions on a particular detail, Brian always responded back very quickly.
The completed deck is quite beautfiul!  We enjoy our backyard much more often now, and I wish I found Deckbuilders earlier to have had this deck a year or so earlier.  But it is here now, and I'm thrilled with it!  We've even had a neighbor stop by to introduce themselves (and take a closer peek at the deck) and learn who did our deck as they want one just like it!

Guys came out on Monday and began tearing out old deck that was approximately 12 x 30. By Friday had new deck and pergola that looks great. I expected top quality, and diligence for 6000.00 and got exactly what I expected and paid for. I can highly recommend deckbuilders.

An estimate was requested to: install customer purchased, vinyl floor tiles in the kitchen, dining area and laundry room; replace two doors (front and back) and to replace three (3) boards of the rear deck.  The initial estimate for all the work was about $1,700.00.  The gentlemen performing the estimate was on time and seemed very professional until I called requesting itemized details of all that was in the flooring estimate of $815.00 which included luan, a subflooring provided by House Doctors.  I was asked 'why it mattered since the price was all inclusive?' which I thought was condescending to say the least.  There was a timeline as my family and me were going out of town.  When asked if the dates provided, July 9-11, 2012, were going to be utilized meaning was the job going to take all three (3) days to complete, I was told by the owner and estimator 'it doesn't matter whether the technician assigned the job completed the work prior to the three (3) day period or beyond, the price is still the same.'  I was also told that some technicians work faster and some slower than others.  The technician assigned to complete the job was late but called to state he was on his way.  Upon arrival, he had a contract that I had to sign before he returned to wherever to retrieve the required materials before coming back to the house.  He returned after 11:30 a.m. to measure, cut, lay and nail the luan to the floor.  I left work early to interact with the technician to ensure the job requested was what was to be performed since the estimator and technician are two different people.   I asked the technician how long the job would take since he’d now seen what had to be done.  He told me “I have three (3) days to complete the job.” I asked how he was going to lay the luan and tiles under the hot water heater and was told that a plumber would have to move the hot water heater.   I had a 4:30 p.m. appointment and left around 4 p.m.  The technician left shortly after I did and stated that he’d return after his Tuesday morning appointment.  When he’d not arrived after 10 a.m., I texted him to ask when he’d be arriving.  I also expressed my concerns with the provided timeline of completion and how the quality of work may be affected by the lack of time spent on the job already.  I also asked that I be called on the office phone because cell phone reception isn’t good in building I work in.  He called and left a message on my cell phone that I didn’t get until much later because of the reception issue.  He said that I could move the refrigerator to the side where the tile was laid so that he could tile the area it was sitting on. My brother told me that the technician left after about 4 hours on day two of the job.  When I got to mom’s house, he’d laid most of the tiles with the edges remaining to be done.  When I moved the refrigerator, a small chunk of one of the tiles was lost.  On day three of the job, the technician returned to complete laying the tiles.  He’d picked up the doors on his way to the house.  He finally finished laying the tiles and stated that he couldn’t install the doors since it was raining.  When asked about repairing the chunk the tile from my moving the refrigerator,  my brother was told that he couldn’t do anything about it since I was the one who moved the refrigerator.  He told my brother that he’d return on Friday to complete the job.   When I called to schedule the work to be done, I told them at that time that my family and I were going out of town the weekend of July 13, 2012.  I called House Doctors to tell them of the most recent schedule change and to inquire just who they’d be sending to complete the job.  The receptionist was the only one available to speak with at that time and I tried to keep her out of the middle of it since my problem was with the estimator and the technician.    She listened, apologized and offered a $75 coupon for the services already rendered which was the flooring only.  I told her I’d get the money to her but would have to schedule it since I was working and getting ready to leave Friday morning.  She asked if I needed help moving the appliances on the deck, covered with tarps and getting pelted with rain.  I thanked her and told her ‘no.’ I wanted to know why the flooring where these appliances resided wasn’t done first.  I didn’t expect a response from her as she didn’t know.  I found the place, paid the $740 and left.  I don’t think the price for what was done was reasonable in the least.  I chose House Doctors because of the odd jobs for a handyman and the rating provided by Angie’s List.  I was sorely disappointed.

Pavel arrived quickly to provide an estimate, which was extremely reasonable. He set a deadline as to when the work would be performed, and he met it. We are definitely keeping is number!
