    They were here really quick that day that I had to get started and the guy who came was really nice. It was the day that the Alabama football game was coming on; I said I don't care what you have to do, just make sure the football game is on before you leave and he put both the TV's on that channel before leaving so that I did not miss the game. They have no hidden fee, its $80 a month and I have a triple package with all the channels. I don't have problems only if there is really bad weather. I will continue to use them in the future.

    Within two days of the Direct TV installation we had a problem. Although they were short staffed, they made an extra effort and resolved the problem within 24 hours.

    Our experience with Direct TV's was not good. We were thinking about doing away with this company and going somewhere else. It is because of their service, they say you one thing and then it is another. They give you a price and there is all these other things that are added on. I was with Direct TV years ago, for a long time and then we went with a cable company and the service there kept going out. It wasn't that great so we went back to Direct TV and since then it's just been awful. I probably will not use them again in the future unless they change. They have started to take off channels like the weather channel and different things are just away with.

    While the installation went fine I discovered in my first bill that the advertised FREE move was anything but, it ended up costing over $180. When I called the customer service number I was met with one argumentative person after another. Apparently only 1 move in a 12 month period was for free, it had been 11 months and 2 weeks since my last installation. These people will do nothing to keep their customers. It was obvious to me that they believed that they would continue this attitude because they felt they had the upper hand and didn't need to try to hear about their customers complaints or dissatisfaction with their service. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS unless you like giving your money away.

    I ordered DirecTV on June 28, 2009, I ordered 1 receiver and an international package. The installation technician showed up on June 30, 2009. The technician refused to install the dish on the house where I already have a dish mounted. He wanted to place it on the roof, however due to the possibility of leaks I refused. He then wanted to place it on a pole in the front yard. I requested that if it was to be pole mounted that it be placed in the back yard (where I have much more line of sight to the SW sky) and the cable buried to prevent it from being destroyed by the lawnmower. The technician refused, and called someone who told him what to do however he had no clue how and just left. I called customer service to complain and get someone to come out who knew what they were doing. The customer service representative was unhelpful and unwilling to answer questions and expected me to rearrange my schedule to fix DirecTV's screwup. I requested to speak with her supervisor at which time she became very rude, so I cancelled my account instead, and still requested to speak with her supervisor. I waited for over 30 minutes and finally spoke with her supervisor who obviously did not care how customers were treated, and was also unhelpful and unwilling to answer questions. I filed a BBB complaint and requested that an experienced technician and their supervisor come install the dish. I also requested an apology from the rude customer service representative, and her supervisor. On July 15, 2009 I was called by a DirecTV representative who just asked what happened, she did not address any issues in the complaint or attempt any type of resolution. In their response to the BBB complaint DirecTV claims that I ordered a standard receiver and an HD receiver, I don't even own an HDTV and I only ordered 1 standard receiver. DirecTV claims that they "make every effort to train and dispatch qualified technicians that will both provide professional and courteous service, but also reflect a high standard in installation and technical ability." I have yet to see a competent technician, or talk to competent customer service, and DirecTV certainly does not provide anything even closely resembling professional or courteous service or high standards in installation and technical ability. I contacted Dish Network who was not only cheaper, but provided infinitely better customer service, and installed the dish where I wanted it very quickly. I have no clue how DirecTV stays in business treating customers the way they do, I will never do business with DirecTV again and will continue inform people about the pitiful service I received from DirecTV. DirecTV has permanently lost my business and my money and given it to Dish Network.
