    Alford, Dr. David
He is extremely well-trained and he knows what he’s doing.  His personality sucks and communication is difficult.  I practically have to stand in front of the door and ask him questions so he can’t hurry off to the next patient.   He sees a lot of diabetics.  He’s southern and he’s not mean.  I bought some shoes that were supposed to be good for diabetics.  Before I wore them I took them into him and asked him what he thought.  He just took them from my hands and threw them up against the wall but he never said a word.  I guess I got my answer.  I trust him.  I went to another doctor up north and got him opinion on a problem I was having.  I didn’t know how I was going to tell him what I learned.  When I got back I went to him and told him what was going on.  He ordered more x-rays and he had those results on his laptop before I got back to the room.  He saw what they saw and told me what was wrong.  It was exactly what they told me up north.  I did wait for him for three hours once and I gave him a piece of my mind.  He asked if I wanted to reschedule; I didn’t want to wait that long and not see him.  He must have talked to the office because I’ve never waited that long again.  He’s the only specialist for about 100 miles so I’ll continue seeing him.  But I know he’s a good doctor and that overrides the personality.

    Southern Bone/Joint Specialists
I developed a pain in my right heel that wouldn't go away. I finally went to go see a doctor at Southern Bone and Joint. The doctor x-rayed my foot and diagnosed me with Plantar Fasciitis. He prescribed anti-inflammatory medication, applying ice and rest. One week later, when that was not helping, I went back in. The doctor put me in a cast. He explained that the cast would help keep the muscle in the bottom of my foot flexed, and also help keep pressure off of my heel. I really couldn't figure out how it was going to keep pressure off my heel, because when walking in the cast I tended to put my weight entirely on my heel. But decided to go with it, he was after all, the specialist.Within a few days I knew something wasn't right. I had never worn a cast before, but I couldn't feel my toes, they were totally numb. I went back in to the doctor. The re-did the cast.By the next week, my ankles and the back of my heel were raw from the cast rubbing up and down on them. I went into the doctor's office and asked them to just remove the cast. It didn't seem to be helping anyway, my heel still hurt and now at least I couldn't apply the ice.It is now 13 month later and my heel still hurts occasionally. I went online and researched Plantar Fasciitis and found several stretches and exercises to do for it. I have been faithfully doing the exercises, applying ice and wearing a splint that I purchased at the drugstore at night. I have found better relief on my own. Had I known what the problem was, and what all I would go through, I would not have bothered with the visit to Southern Bone and Joint. The doctor there never told me about the stretching exercises or the night splints that were available, he just went straight for overkill.I feel as though I wasted a lot of time and money with this provider.
