    Choice Home Warranty
It took a few hours to get a repairman on site, and some additional time to get full approval for needed work, but he finished quickly afterwards, very professional and friendly.

    Old Republic Home Protection
First of all let me say that although Old Republic home warranty is good to have, in the 4yrs that I've had this warranty and have spent roughly $2000.00 and only need their service once. Also, depending on the plan you have, it doesn't guarantee coverage sp it ain't cheap!!!! The fan on my refrigerator burnt out, the gentleman they sent had a hard time figuring out why, but eventully he realized it was the electric panel on the back. He ordered the part, fixed it and Old Republic paid for everything, fortunately for me it was covered on myplan. Also the customer service folk were awesome in helping me.

American Home Shield – Home Warranty
Had repairs done to refrigerator, which was pretty good, Although comparing price to other warranty companies, it has room for improvements. Called for electrical repairs, but I ended up having to call my own electrician who never showed up. Also had the Washer for a VERY minor repair which resulted in a $75 fee to clean a filter. Dryer repair went really well except the technician had a filthy mouth on the way down our driveway while talking on the phone. But when it came to the dishwasher needing repairs everything went sour. The initial technician came out and assessed the need to replace a part. The part once it came in did not fix the problem so he ordered another part which was unavailable, therefore it was determined to replace the unit. This took multiple phone calls to their procurement department after SEVERAL times getting transferred around only to find that after two 45 minute hold periods, one full hour hold period and one 1 1/2 hour hold period, that no one EVER answered in that department. Severe lack of communication between the technician and the procurement department and around 4 months of waiting a new dishwasher was delivered and a technician to install it. The tech complained of the distance to my home and the entire time he was at my home and had issues completing the job. His can't do attitude left me no choice but to ask him to leave. I called home shield and nothing was done until I was ready to cancel them after 2 years. Then they offered to finish the installation. I refused and cancelled them so I will now be forced to install the unit myself, and seek a new warranty company.

American Home Shield – Home Warranty
If you decide to contract with American Home Shield, read the contract  very closely.  You may want a lawyer to look at the contract.  We purchased an older home and wanted the home warranty to cover the major  systems (heat, A/C, kitchen appliances, plumbing, and pool equipment)  just in case due to the age of the home.  Well we needed the warranty with several failures in the first year.  Having used home warranties previously, I was rather rudely surprised to find that many things were not covered with American Home Shield and what was covered was poorly repaired or not repaired.  AHS sent repairmen that were not trained on the heat-pump manufacturer that was installed on our home.  While you would think a heat-pump is a heat-pump the repairmen were unable to figure out the system.  They worked on the unit for 3+ hours, replaced several components, rewired some portions.  In the end - the next time it was in heat mode the unit froze up again, so the repair did not repair the problems.  I tried to solve my dispute with American Home Shield, but after investing five hours on the phone with them, I gave up and just hired my own repair company and have had no problems with the system since.  My time is worth more than having to debate with AHS on the phone to get service.

    Arkidus Home Protection
This company is an absolute scam!!! They are under investigation by the Florida legal department. Beware and do not get involved with this company. It will cost your money. I was lucky and got mine back through my credit card. One reason I decided on them were the great reviews on Angie's and home warranty reviews. I still do not know who Arkidus had to pay in order to get reviews like that. Don't believe what I am writing? Please try yourself and do an internet research on them.
