Transmission Service reviews in Guntersville

    Professional Transmission Service
Very professional. Seem to know their stuff. I really felt like they were honest and upfront. This was a total transmission meltdown which was an expensive repair however, due to our phone conversations during the repair, I truly believe they tried to save me money where they could. They had me up and running in about 4 days which was good considering the scope of work and number of parts needed. After researching other transmission shops in the area along with the experience of actually using Professional Transmission I definitely think I picked the right shop for the job.

Replaced seals, gaskets, and oil pan on the engine. It was a pretty big job. They also replaced the front axle. They are very thorough and knowledgeable on repairing cars. They can handle big jobs, like major car repairs.

    AAA Transmission and Automotive Technology
AAA was efficient and kept me informed throughout the entire process. Due to the nature and complexity of my transmission rebuild, my car may have taken longer, than other automobiles, to complete, but on, February 25, 2011, I was able to pick up my car. They never attempted to sell me on other repairs and never pressured me into buying services or parts I did not need. They did inform and educate me on other issues which I greatly appreciated. I do not believe I have ever been treated so nicely by an automotive repair shop. Their professionalism was TOPS! If you need a transmission replacement/rebuild, I highly recommend AAA! The total job plus towing was 3102.09. Having a warranty, I paid 365. but, normally, because the warranty company only pays so much for labor, I end up paying much more. AAA's fee schedule fit right in with my warranty company's limits leaving me to pay for tax and towing! What a deal! Thumbs up, AAA, for your inexplicable service!

I returned to the shop and they thoroughly explained and showed me the problem. The leak was coming from the Power Steering Rack. They recommended Stan’s Racks & Axles and charged me nothing for the diagnosis. Stan’s Racks & Axles confirmed and the fixed the leak on the same day at a very reasonable price. Professional Transmission is an excellent company to deal with and I highly recommend them to anyone.

Professional Transmission rebuilt the transmission for less than half that price, and warranted it for 12 months. They were very easy to work with and included my Angie's List discount. The car seems to be running well but I haven't been able to drive it much to really test it. That's why I chose "N/A" for the quality rating. I need to drive it more to really see, but so far, so good.

Cost was about $200 more than expected. That was due to replacement of dead battery. Some worn but functional parts inside the transmission were also replaced. The intent was to prevent premature breakdown. The local Honda dealership pricing was unrealistic (more than twice as high). Had to wait a couple of days longer than expected before work was started. Business owner seemed to be genuinely interested in doing good work and was very knowledgeable. Offered free follow-up visit to inspect transmission function. Rated work as excellent.

    ANDERSON MOTOR CO
The project was finished on time, on budget (little pricey but not bad), the Jasper transmission came with warranty and all proper information, answered any question, easy to deal with all the way around. This was a year ago and never had any problems. Picked Anderson to do the work because I wanted it done right without worrie. With a credible long lasting local-reputation I had no hesitation to use Anderson. Yes I could of found it cheaper somewhere else or even use a" Bubba". I wanted to know for sure I was getting the best work possible.

    Professional Transmission Service
Without a doubt, the nicest experience I have ever had with automobile repair.  My husband's '93 S-10 started having trouble going past first gear and when we checked the transmission fluid, it did not even register on the stick.  We added almost 2 full bottles before it showed again.  But still it struggled and so I went on Angie's List to search for someone who did transmission work that would do it right and be honest.  Well, I have to say, we were stunned when Professional Transmission called us a few hours after we dropped off the truck to say it had somehow gotten stuck into 4 wheel drive Low and there wasn't anything wrong with the transmission so we could pick it up.  And though I felt they deserved to be paid for their time and trouble, they did not charge me anything.  This was without a doubt the most pleasant experience I've ever had with anyone in the automobile service business. The manager was so knowledgeable when we initially stopped by to inquire about bringing it in, and very helpful explaining to us afterwards what had caused the problems we had experienced. It drives like a dream again!  I am going to go online and try to leave a review anywhere possible for people that don't belong to Angie's List so it might help others to know about my experience.

    Professional Transmission Service
Based on a coworker's suggestion, I went to Professional Transmission when my vehicle seemed to be having shifting problems.  Joe Scokel listened to the description of the problem and explained what was likely to be happening.  He recommended waiting until the trouble light came on and the specific malfunction code could be retrieved, so that the exact problem could be addressed. When the service light finally came on, I took the vehicle back to Professional Transmission where, based on the trouble code reported by the engine computer, Joe advised that transmission needed to be overhauled.  He explained why he believed that an overhaul was preferable to replacement, and what was entailed.  He even offered to let me view the disassembled transmission and get an explanation of what was being replaced and why. After the work was completed, Joe asked me to bring the vehicle back after driving a few hundred miles and they would check for any issues. I was very satisfied with the work and price.  I believe that Professional Transmission provides honest service at a fair price.

    AL'S TRANSMISSION & AUTOMOTIVE
All repairs went very well. Transmission was replaced the day after I took the Lexus in. Took a little longer to find the problem with the 4-runner. I took it to 3 different shops before and none could find the problem. Very good shop.
