    Patrick's did a terrible job. The replacement foam they ordered was poor quality, too small, and too thin. To make up for the poor fit, they stuffed the empty spaces with loose fiberfill. When it was obvious I was unhappy, the clerk did offer to have them redo the cushions, but if they couldn't do a professional job the first time, I was sure they would be unable to do it correctly a second time.
    I was told the cushions would be finished in two days; however, they were completed ten days later.

    Susan Gregg Wallpaper & Painting
    Susan and her husband wallpapered two rooms for me.  These rooms are on a boat in Guntersville.  They did a fantastic job and it was a more of job than anyone expected. 
    Susan showed up when she said she would for both the estimate and install.  The only thing I wish I had done differently is to talk to her about the paper I bought.  She recommended a type of paper (since it's a boat) and I bought that.  The issue I had was with the place I ordered the paper from.  They did not consider (nor did I but Susan would have) that this was commercial paper and wider than normal paper.  So I ended up with almost twice as much as I needed.  Of course I'd rather have too much than to little and I should be able to sell my extra.
    But if I had discussed the papers width with her, she would have kept me from overspending on the paper.
    So - I would recommend her for your house or your boat! :-)

    There was an extreme overrun on the cost.  The original painting quote was estimated at 2-4 weeks labor for 2 men at $17.50 per hour which put the total painting cost, on the high side, at $5,600.00.  The actual remodeling cost, described above, for using 3 men for 15 days totaled $6,300.00.  The painting estimate and the remodeling cost combined totaled $11,900.00.  However, $29,000.00 was spent resulting in a cost overrun of $17,100.00.  And, the job is still not completed.  

    Mr. Ford and his 2 painters certainly did not have the carpenter skills that I would have expected from a guy who stated that his company did carpentry work.  The toilet could not be set because the drain line was improperly located and had to be redone.  The window, which was on a wall with 4 other windows, was installed 2 inches higher than the others, and the exterior window sill was attached in such a way as to allow water to infiltrate the house.  The shower door, glass walls, shower neck, and head were never installed. 

    Mr. Ford, who takes Xanax frequently, brought with him the first week a 1st painter who turned out to be an alcoholic.  A newly hired 2nd painter joined the 2-man crew a week later.  This man was a recovering alcoholic with a criminal record.  Ford worked (?) with the other two for 7 more weeks.  In between taking hourly 5-15 minute breaks, time spent was divided between remodeling, smearing sheetrock mud over the walls, and sanding.  Mud was found in clumps everywhere - on walls, carpeting, tile, furniture, and clothing.  

    Sheetrock mud created other issues when sanded.  The air conditioning unit shut down 5 times due to clogged filters during heavy sanding, once in less than 4 days.  Ford and his painters made little to no attempt to cover anything or reduce dust contamination in the house.  Dust was everywhere and in everything and hung in the air 24-7.  According to records, 320 pounds of sheetrock compound, 52 sanding sponges, and 10 pieces of sand paper were used in the house.  Dry sanding sheet rock mud is not recommended by the manufacturer.  That became evident when I developed severe respiratory problems most probably from silica exposure.   Ford quit working at the house after 8 weeks leaving 2 questionably sober painters at my home.  These painters were unsupervised and argued on a daily basis.  Ford only returned for weekly paychecks.  At no time did I ever see Ford looking at the work his people had done or critique them on a daily or weekly basis.  When Ford was pushed by my request to replace the 1st painter with someone else, he did so by sending a 3rd painter that he later accused of being a drug dealer.   

    It became apparent to this homeowner that excessive sanding did not put any paint on the walls.  When questioned repeatedly, Ford finally admitted that the rough surfaces requiring sanding throughout much of the house were the result of the 2nd painter using the wrong length nap on paint rollers when either priming or painting.   However, Ford refused to offer any form of settlement other than "we can knock that out and fix it in no time".  When approached with the fact that caulking was not sticking to the painted surface at the crown moulding, Ford had no response.   

    Ford would not address problems I had with his employees.  When he finally did, he got mad at painter #3 and told him to rmove all painting equipment, which included ladders, compressor, air tools, drop clothes, and hoses from my home and terminated this painters employment.  As a result, all work in my home stopped.   A week later, Ford came back and said he wanted to bring in a bunch of guys and "knock it out".  That didn't make much sense because it had been 9 months and the job was still not completed.  Then he had an "anxiety attack" and the painter he brought with him helped him out of my home.  End of consversation.  Job unfinished!!!

    Extremely well. They had a great selection. They use a high tech method of measuring the counter that is faster better than traditional plywood templates. The way they installed the undermount stainless sink was more durable than others I've seen. I'm a perfectionist so it takes perfect work to get me to say that the final job was absolutely flawless and the clean up perfect.

    John does an awesome job. I'm happy with everything he does. Everyone who comes to my home now cannot believe that this is the same home I bought 2 years ago. I will hire him to do all my work. He is so handy, there is not much he cannot do. But if he cannot do the job just right and be proud of the finished product, he will not do it at all. I have more respect for that than anything. He will not just take your money and run.
