Often the price is high to even a bit off-putting, but the quality, workmanship, knowledge, ability and the fact that they get the job done right is worth it. The only builder in the area who completely stands behind his work. If you think anything is even mildly off, they're back in a flash to correct it at no extra charge. We had some new doors put in for which the company hardware was working ideally, they fixed it. We needed to redo the kitchen but the cabinet headers were not finished before prior owners wallpapered, so they handmade new veneers and fixed it. Our dining room walls were not perfectly straight,, so they custom fit crown molding and chair rails and it looks perfect. Save money in the long run and do it right first by using these guys.- john v.

ANorth Alabama BuildersIt?s not too often that I write about a company to say how impressed I am with their service?but all I have to say is WOW. North Alabama Builders exceeded my expectations in every way possible. We worked the entire project through the company's owner, Brent. I was extremely impressed with Brent and his thorough inspection of the property, existing deck structure, listening to the vision/needs we had for the new deck and execution of the project. Brent continuously updated us throughout the project and stood behind his work in every way possible. The original estimate was very detailed and provided exactly what work we agreed upon. I was happy to see all the details in the estimate and it further provided me with confidence that Brent thought through all the details of the project. He executed exactly as he stated he would. We even ran into some issues with our existing structure (rot underneath a old door) and expanded the scope of North Alabama Builder's work. His team responded without any issues to the additional scope we added. Even with the additional work we added, Brent stayed within the budget he estimated. Additionally, there were a few details where Brent and his team went above and beyond what was in the estimate - such as painting the internal wall and trim where an old door was removed and replacing some boards in the bottom deck to make it look completely finished. We did not expect this and we were excited to see this attention to detail. We left Brent and his team with a key since we were not able to be home for the entire project. We never even thought twice about this. I would highly recommend North Alabama Builders. We were thrilled with the work and would use him again in a second.- Paul R G.

ASEAL-TITE - Metal Roofing SpecialistsThere are no complaints about Seal-Tite service, quality of work performed, or the crew performing the work. Every change, and addition that we asked about, was met with positive responses, and done to our satisfaction, and the crew chief has a general contractors license and even had very helpful hints and suggestions on what we could do to enhance those changes. We never felt pressured about anything, just helpful hints if, and when we asked for advice and suggestions. One thing that really stood out, and impressed us, was the fact that at all times there was one crew member dedicated to nothing but clean up, and pick up, as the removal of old material was accomplished, and as the construction progressed. That is very important during a job that large. There was never one day that the site was left cluttered with debris.- Rick B.

AALMAROAD CONSTRUCTION CO INCJust as in the first phase, this phase went quickly and without a hitch. Almaroad is adept at making sure the jobs follow proper order so that crews don't have to come back to adjust for crews that followed them. However, he doesn't allow any time between jobs that could hold up completion. We had one instance where some siding wasn't available because we had used more than originally anticiapted and the warehouse did not have time to stock up. The total delay on this step was about three days.- William H.

ASmith's Remodeling & RoofingHe did an excellent job! At the same time he did this job, we had him reroof the rest of the house as a separate job, and he did excellent at that as well. His crew was extremely meticulous when making sure that all of their work looked good. I have done a lot of repair and carpentry work, myself, and I wouldn't have even taken the time they did, so I was every impressed.- Lynda F.

AHamby ConstructionHe did a great job. I would recommend him to anyone as far as his work and punctuality. He was right on the ball with everything. He was very courteous. He always left a clean work site. As he went along he had ideas that he would bounce off of us. He would always call if he was going to be late. Communication was excellent. He was getting married during all of this. I had a motorcycle accident and he stopped in the middle of the project to build a handicap ramp for my wheelchair. His specialty is siding and trim work, so the work he did matched the house perfectly.- RAY D.

ASweet Home Repairs and RemodelingWe have a 12 x 12 deck then 4 stairs to a 4 x 8 running deck that leads to 7 more stairs. The wood was rotten and needed replacement. Last Christmas we had a guest fall part way through some of the decking, It was dangerous to sit on, let alone walk on it. We wanted to go with a Choice Dek composite wood to replace the decking and repaint our hand rail and replace any bad ballusters. I knew the material alone was going to run over 2000 dollars. The first Contractor was way to cheap, beside the fact he was inconsistent when describing how the work would be done, I had a feeling he didn't know what he was doing. The second company was very expensive at 9000 dollars. Then Sweet Home Repairs bid came in at 4500 for the third and final estimate . I hired Sweet Home Repairs immediately giving him a down payment check, signed a simple contract agreement to which he scheduled us in and arrived at the day and time he gave. The work was complete in 3 days and looked better then we had hoped. I would gladly use Sweet Home Repairs again and have plans for other project later. We enjoyed our deck all summer and no one fell through!- Todd C.

AAfter researching various products and getting quotes from several different contractors, my husband and I purchased an underdeck ceiling kit from Magnolia Outdoor Living. We chose the 4 beaded panel in white. While we are not contractors, we have completed a number of renovation projects at our house, so we felt confident that we could install the underdeck ceiling ourselves. The staff at Magnolia were wonderful to work with and helped us design a ceiling kit that worked best with the layout of our house. The ceiling kit was personally delivered to our home and we received assistance in marking the initial level points under the deck (1st step in the project). While it took working several weekends to complete the project, we are extremely happy with the end result. The staff at Magnolia were very helpful in answering our questions throughout the project. Magnolia's online instructional video that demonstrates installation of the ceiling kit was extremely helpful. If you follow the instructions in the video, the ceiling kit is actually fairly easy to install. Our deck was large (13'x42') with several angles, so it took a bit longer to complete the project. The underdeck ceiling is beautiful and we're happy that we saved a ton of $$$ by installing it ourselves. We love our new outdoor living area and are now using it everyday. Thank you Magnolia!
