    The overall experience was an A. They've been very helpful. Price was good and everything. I'd give them an A on all of your categories. I got the same thing you can get without paying three times as much somewhere else. Costco has a good technician. They would hook you up to the machine.

    There are two doctors here and both have far more experience than you would find at some of the chain or club locations that do hearing tests. We saw Susan M. Sheehy, Au.D., FAAA and had had an absolutely perfect experience. One reviewer noted they were billed for what they thought would be a free exam and I asked about that. She confirmed that there are so many different plans even under Blue Cross that you don't know if a test willbe free or not without calling. My suggestion would be to call you insurance company first if a test around $80-$90 seems to high. We wanted the extra knowledge we felt we would get by having the test done by the doctor herself so we went for it. I was very impressed with the time Dr. Sheehy took to test my mother and to be certain where her hearing problems stemmed from. We learned what all is involved with impaired hearing and the different ways to address them. My original plan was to check out a couple of other places to compare staff and products but my mother felt comfortable with the personal attention we received and ultimately bought her hearing aids through them.. There have been a couple of follow up appointments to be sure the hearing aids were programmed to do their best and we are very happy with them.

    They are highly professional and they have very good interaction. I believe they are above the standard of what you'd find elsewhere. They have a higher level of education than what is necessary to perform the tests. I have had no problems with the billing.

    They had told me that they take Blue Cross Blue Shield, and I asked before treatment if the cost of hearing diagnosis would be covered. I paid my $15 deductable at the time of my visit, but later on they came to me for the full remaining balance of the visit, another $65, saying that hearing diagnosis was not covered by BCBS. I believe that they encounter BCBS often, and so they probably knew ahead of time that the bill would not be covered by BCBS. By telling me initially that they 'accepted' my insurance for hearing diagnostics, they denied me the chance to seek another clinic where the services really would have been covered. Despite all of this, they refused to negotiate on the amount, and were even rather rude about it, hanging up on me when we discussed the matter. Their standpoint was that I had signed that I would pay in full, even if insurance did not cover the treatment. But the 100% non-payment by a prominent and common insurer like BCBS is something that they surely knew about ahead of time, and about which they should have informed me. I told them if they proceeded along the course of action demanding full payment in place of BCBS, I would have to report their actions to the Better Business Bureau, and the members of Angie's List. They will be paid in full, but hopefully the broader public will be fully informed and so do whatever they need to do to protect themselves from a repeat of these billing practices.
