    Partlow Harbin & Poist OB/GYN
Dr. Partlow is always so wonderful. His nursing staff is great too. They are busy at times but I understand that being at this kind of dr babies dont wait and they might have to run fast. The wait however which is hardly ever over 30 mins is worth the service. Dr. Partlow also delivered my son. I love his bedside manner he acts as if he is your grandfather on a vert personal level with you. He seems to genuinely care. Too bad he will no longer be delivering babies. Still wouldnt trade him for the world. The whole office is wonderful. Thanks

This was my first doctors appointment without having my mom there and it was very nerve wrecking for me. But everyone there made me feel very comfortable and I will definitely be going back.

I like my doctor. I can't really speak for the other doctors there. But I like my doctor and that's Dr. Ingram. I like their bedside manner and communication. They're educated and I feel comfortable with them.

    Bolton, Dr. Jennifer T
Dr. Bolton has delivered both of my babies and helped as a pregnancy ended in miscarriage. She does not consider inducing without a medical reason and is open to natural methods of delivery. She always delivers regardless of whether or not she is on call. She is kind and compassionate and cares about her patients. Her life experiences give her an understanding of what her patients are really feeling.

    Ob-Gyn Of West Alabama
Although it takes a very long lead time to get an appointment, once you have one, you can expect excellent care. I have been seeing Dr. Harvey Edwards for nearly 30 years (wow!). Check in is easy, I rarely have to wait a long time to be called in, and the staff are all very courteous and competent. The nurses are very kind. The appointment secretaries are efficient. I always get both a phone call and a written summary of my test results. The doctor meets me in his office first and chats with me. Then we do the exam room and examination, and then he will meet again in his office to review his findings if necessary. I find this to be a respectful and tactful approach to what is a very awkward health care situation. There are numerous doctors here, as this practice has grown greatly since its establishment in the early 1980s, and I have had some contact with other doctors there in the past, but I don't know what I'm going to do when Dr. Edwards retires (he and I are the same age!).

This office is very friendly and helpful. In addition, Dr. Kimberly Ray is so nice and takes the time to explain things to you. I will definitely keep going there!

Dr. Bolton is wonderful to work with. She takes her time and never rushes through your appointment. She listens to what you say and determines the best solution. She has been my doctor for over 10 years and I cannot imagine going to someone more caring.

    Kristine Graettinger MD
I've been a patient of Dr. Graettinger for about two years now. She's the only OBGYN (to my knowledge) that students on student health insurance at The University of Alabama can make an appointment with, and she is everything a young woman could want in a gynecologist. She's extremely competent, fast, kind, and also professional. I write this as a graduate student in my late twenties. There's nothing more awkward than a gynecologist who takes forever to do a basic procedure. Dr. Graettinger could be a model in bedside manner and getting the inevitable and uncomfortable over with quickly. While her primary practice is at the University Medical Center, she comes over to the Student Health Center side of things about once a week, hence the low availability. The punctuality issue is more to do with the way the SHC is run than anything -- it seems customary for students to be kept waiting long periods of time before seeing them. This is probably due to the number of walk-ins the SHC has everyday. When I discussed with her some problems I was having with painful s**, she helped me develop a plan to resolve the issue and was so understanding and helpful. Though it was embarrassing to discuss these issues, I was lucky to have her as my doctor, as she in no way dismissed me or my problems. When I had my IUD put in, she was fast and good. It's a briefly but intensely painful procedure by nature for many women but because I trust Dr. Graettinger I was able to go through with it. The procedure and device were all but completely covered by United Healthcare because I spoke with the insurance liaison on campus beforehand. I spent $20 for what could have been 10 years of birth control. When I needed to have it removed because of ongoing pain and complications, she worked me into her schedule quickly and removed it quickly. The removal was virtually painless. After removing the IUD, I tried several birth control pills. They caused all kinds of problems for me that I didn't have when I was younger -- nausea, mood swings. I was able to communicate with her nurse by phone and try several different prescriptions without having to make another appointment before I settled on a birth control that works for me. When I had issues with bladder pain, she tested me for possible causes and gave me a referral to see a urologist after my exam and lab results were inconclusive. This helped me pursue the root cause of that pain and resolve it.

Overall, my experiences with him have been most pleasant. Don't wait until the last minute to schedule apts. for check ups, because you wont get in! Phones are not answered often by his receptionists.

Dr. Bolton has been my doctor for 6 years and I can't imagine seeing anyone else. As an obstetrician, she is the most caring and understanding doctor with amazing bedside care. She does whatever possible to make the pregnancy, labor and delivery process go as naturally and easily as possible. She does her own ultrasounds and never makes you feel rushed through an appointment. She is always available if there is a problem and returns all after hours calls herself. During my labor in delivery, I was so amazed at the amount of time she spent with me especially since it was a holiday weekend and late at night.
