    Banks Home Building Inc
Mr. Banks came to my house for the consultation and made a follow-up call to me afterwards for some additional information. Unfortunately, I never received any type of quote or sketch. I do not recommend paying for a design consultation upfront from this Company. I paid $55 and received absolutely nothing in return.

    Bento Construction LLC
Bento Construction dealt with us and the insurance company to fully complete the home restoration process. The timing we requested was met.  Their work included demolition, removal and and rebuild of interior walls, roof and rafters, flooring, HVAC, one brick exterior wall, interior doors, spraying attic to remove smoke smell, repainting of exterior and interiors, and lighting. Drapes were removed and cleaned, if feasible, others were destroyed and replaced. Brian and Bill Bento were very easy to work with throughout the process and made the process go very smoothly. They dealt with talking to the insurance company about many things which took a huge burden off of us. Bento recognized that we were the customer who needed to be happy, not the insurance company and they went beyond what was expected to ensure our satisfaction. I couldn't be happier with our experience and would absolutely recommend them to anyone.

    WOOD AND HASTINGS CONSTRUCTION
I have to say they are an excellent construction company and really go above and beyond. I would say the only thing that they could do better is that while the house is under construction they could watch the people that are doing the construction a little better. I would say that their pricing is on par with other constructors, not more, not less.

    Trimm Landscapes and Designs
Tommy Trimm & his Supervisor Todd were thoroughly professional throughout each of these four sequential projects over a three month period. They did what they said they would do in a timely fashion. Their employees were professional, prompt, courteous and knowledgeable. They clean up the work area after they finish and replaced all the grass in the yard. My calls were promptly returned. One construction error was corrected in a reasonably timely fashion. They worked well with my long time personal contractor who was doing additional work in parallel with these four projects. They listened to his unsolicited inputs and adopted most of his ideas and suggestions.Thy worked with me in desining and implementing my creative ideas on the dock. Friends and neighbors are all commenting about how beautiful everything looks. They have set a new standard for work in this neighborhood ( Baneberry Lake in Riverchase).

    HISTORICAL HOMECRAFTERS INC
James is very meticulous in planning and execution.  He is well versed in both structural and landscape architecture, and has spent years studying the art of science involved in creating classic homesites.  James worked well with us, and was very sensitive to our input and direction.  He completed each phase on time.  He submitted a comprehensive written estimate and adjusted it only with our approval. The overall project was completed significantly under budget.  The building has structural amenities that are above standard and provide protection from water damage.  James also suggested specific insulation specs which will allow us to store relatively delicate articles in the building with no A/C or heat.  He maximized the plan to allow for storage which was our main goal.
James was onsite at the beginning of each phase, and personally met with sub-contractors to ensure their understanding of the process.  He has established strong relationships with contractors of all disciplines.
We did have one incident with a brick mason who did not complete the work to our satisfaction.  James hired another mason to correct the problem and absorbed the extra costs.

    David's Carpentry
He most clearly has not done kitchen cabinets and drawers to any code or with any level of understanding of interior finish. All cabinets are out of line, measured incorrectly, warped, not sanded and painted appropriately for interior finish. Backsplash installed with no professional appearance. Had to call 3 others contractors to discuss. All determined he misrepresented his level of skill/experience. All cabinets and backsplash will have to be removed and I will have to start over again! He did an outside job for me that was done well - but kitchen's - he seemed clueless at the end of the project. He left wiring exposed inside cabinets, the glass on the doors does not fit, the cabinets are not hung straight, the drawers do not open and close as they should. Overall workmanship is shoddy and unacceptable
He built a wood countertop and did ALL of the sanding inside my kitchen without turning off HVAC or covering the vent - all of this should have been done outside or in my garage.  He spilled stain all over the kitchen floor in the process and had to take extra time to clean up.  He did not put a drop cloth on my carpet outside the kitchen where everything had to be brought in.  I had to have the carpet professionally cleaned.  He did not meet code on over 90% of the electrical.  I had to have an electrician come out and do a full report.  He had no inspections done during the job process. The contract is in dispute.

Very professional and thorough with regards to the design process and implementation of the design.  Great suggestions and options provided to allow my wife and I the luxury of choosing the best plan for what we had in mind.  Upon completion of the job, all changes requested by us were handled very well and without having to wait.

    HISTORICAL HOMECRAFTERS INC

My experience with Historical Home Crafters was excellent.

    • James was on site continuously overseeing his bricklayers, carpenters and painters.
    • All workers were professional and on-time
    • Work quality was excellent with no need for follow-up corrections.
    • All brick, paint and ornate molding were matched perfectly
    • I had concerns that the sheetrock joints (from the added framing and sheetrock used to decrease the size of the opening where french doors would be hung) would show, but I cannot see the joints at all.  I was very pleased with craftsmanship.  HHC actually corrected some of the old joints in our foyer and now they look much better than before.

I have worked with many contractors and this was by far my best experience.

Very well. Mr. Wagnon was very professional, reliable and honest and a pleasure to work with. All repairs were completed in a puntual manner. Some concerns at the end of the project were addressed in an excellent manner.

    Premiere Restoration & Remodeling Inc
When my home burned on 05/19/2010, I was referred to Premier Reconstruction and Remodeling (PRR) and did all the research I could.  The PRR rep, Jerry Sulzby, seemed genuine and told me of all they were going to do for us.  One if the tallest tales, was a verbal promise to get us into our new home by Christmas, 2010.  Being finished with rebuilding in time for Christmas was the condition that our agreement was based on.  Apparently, there was never any intention to meet that requirement. There were constant excuses and stalling tactics. In December,  PRR stopped work on the house because they said they needed more money although owner Gary Thompson told me they still had my money.  PRR’s contract stipulated to the payments from the insurance company to be in thirds but they kept demanding extra money in order to keep working. They swindled me out of an additional  $5200 of my personal cash and $31500 that was supposed to go to the mortgage company.  The mortgage Co. did 3 inspections showing only about 30% completion.  The mortgage co requires 50% completion to release more money to the builder.  However,  Premiere already had more than $130,000, which was about 50% of the total rebuilding cost.  Premier notified me that they were not going to do any more on the house until they got more money.  I told them there was no more money unavailable until they got to 50% completion.  They notified me they were no longer working on my house at the end of December, and then sent 3 sub contractors to work on my house, but did not pay them, leaving me responsible for paying them with money that had already been paid to PRR. In addition, I have received a notice from another sub contractor who is putting a lien on my property for $13000 that Premiere has not paid them for hauling off the dumpsters when the burned house was taken down.  I had other contractors inspect our house and they say PRR did about $70,000 worth of work (but have been paid about $130,000) and much of what they have done has to be re-done to meet county code requirements.  Some sub contractors who did the work on our house were not paid. The bottom line is, I am out about $80000. We could not proceed with the rebuilding of our home because there was no money available. The Bank holding our insurance money refused to release more money until the house was 50% complete (Wells Fargo) and they were absolutely inflexible and rude even though our money had been stolen by PRR. My Insurance company, Travelers, was no help at all.  They reminded me that I have to move from our rental in May.  I can produce proof of all the money paid to Premiere.  I have pictures to prove the inferior work done by PRR including a total failure to build a proper drainage system to keep the house from flooding whenever it rained and also  to attach the roof.  Owner of PRR, Gary Thompson made several pretenses of trying to patch things up and resume building our home, but never made any efforts at all to do any more work on the house.  Project  manager, Rodney Bates seemed to be oblivious of anything I ever said to him and in my opinion was under the influence of something nearly every time we met. Jerry Sulzby is the front man for this bunch, and seems very nice, but I advise against it.   Beware, I know of 3 others with similar experiences similar to mine at this time, plus there are at least 3 lawsuits against PRR for similar actions. Bottom line is, in my experience, they promise, take your money and don't deliver. They stall, delay, make excuses and want more money.   I could go on for a long time about PRR;s crooked dealings. Since I submitted this , PRR has posted a rebuttal on "Ripoff Report" that they were cleared of all wrongdoing. This is an outright lie.  They refused to go to arbitration and were not cleared by the Al Licensure board or anyone else.  The licensure board felt that although their work was faulty and they had quit the job owing us money, that was  not enough to pull their licenses. Check out ripoffreport.com and see what they have been up to.  I also included lawsuits against them at this time for the same type stuff.
