Paul Davis Emergency Services of South Birmingham
He came out at midnight to make sure we were ok after a storm. He helped secure the leaking areas. He was professional letting us know every move he was doing and courteous to a families living area. He monitored all of his equipment throughout the job and made sure he job ran smoothly. In a bad time, he made the situation easier.

    Steamatic of Indianapolis
Steamatic's response was excellent! Within 90 minutes from time of call, a two man crew (Greg and Jeremy) showed up; explained the scope of work they would be doing; and began working (approximately 1630 hrs). They worked non-stop until approximately 0100. After extracting the water, they applied the microbahn solution, placed air movers to float the carpet, and positioned dehumidifiers to accelerate the drying process. On 12/11/08 Joe Crawford, Project manager, stopped by to take moisture readings and said the work would require additional air movers to better float the carpet. Later that afternoon, a crew stopped by and placed 4 more air movers. On 12/12/08 Joe stopped by and took moisture readings and said that they needed to check behind the walls to ensure that the insulation was not wet. I asked what was involved in doing this and he said his crew would cut out a small square to gain access behind the wall to determine if the insulation was damaged. I requested that he have the crew cut the holes in the basement storage room or an area where the holes would be less noticeable. I also requested that they apply additional anti-microbial agent to combat the smell from the drying carpet and carpet pad. A crew stopped by to check the insulation. They cut a 12"x12" hole in the bedroom in the most noticeable area. They also did not have the anti-microbial agent on their truck so neither request was met. I arranged for Steamatic to have access to the house on 12/13 for additional readings and again requested that additional microbahn be applied. On 12/15, Joe said work would be done NLT 12/17. No microbahn applied on 13 would be done today. On 12/16 readings were good. Equipment picked up. At this point I was okay with Steamatic's work. I did feel that the hole cut in the wall could have been done differently requiring minimum repair (smaller holes could have been cut along the baseboard area) and I was disappointed that a more aggressive approach to combat the odor was not taken. The reason I gave an "F" for professionalism is Steamatic, as a part of their service, agreed to work directly with my insurance co. for payment after I paid my deductible. I was completely out of the billing process until the week of Jan. 19 when I got a voicemail from Amy asking if I had had any contact with my insurance co. as Steamatic had not received payment. She asked me to check with the co. I sent an e-mail to my insurance co. and copied Steamatic. Amy thanked me for my effort. I spoke with my claim agent on Sunday, 1/25. I e-mailed Amy an update saying that the bill would be paid by end of the week. Amy e-mailed me and said a lien wouuld be placed on my home if payment was not received by COB. I replied that this was unfair as I was out of the loop on payment - no reply from Amy. On 1/27 I received a letter from their lawyers threatening litigation for MY failure to pay timely. I called the lawyer, explained MY side of the story, resolved issue.
