AAffordable Handyman ServiceFirst , I want to truly thank Jason, who is the actual "Affordable Handyman" and his crew Darryl, Ben, Charles, Collin, and Jonathan (I'm sorry if I spelled any names wrong). I started off by getting bids from several reputable contractors. Even at $52,000 Jason was the least expensive and did an outstanding job. We were fortunate enough to be able to use Kohler, Delta and/or Moen, fixtures, which of course added to the cost rapidly. Jason recommended the sub contractors (cabinets, granite, seamless shower door, etc.). When they were through with their part I would write a check directly to them. Jason's costs were labor and materials. Each week on Friday he brought all receipts for materials to me and I would pay him. This was for things like caulk, paint, plumbing materials, and door knobs). He collected his other money in three separate draws, with the last being when the job was completed. I liked the way he handled this because he knew his reputation was on the line. Jason was excellent at running into town to Home Depot or Lowes to get things that were needed, which was about 20 miles one way. . I think this was partly because that's just how Jason is and partly because he knew my husband and myself are not in the best of health and it would have taken a lot out of us to be running into town all the time. After all, this was what I considered to be a big job as three bathrooms and the kitchen were gutted. He gave me a timeline of four weeks, but I kept adding things for him to do and so all total was six weeks, which was still pretty amazing. Also, the cabinet doors were on back order, which held things up. He guaranteed two men on the job everyday and there were. If he was running late for any reason, which was not often, he always called. Running a little late was generally because he had to go to Home Depot or Lowes to pick up something needed for my job. All the guys were very respectful and cleaned up any mess at the end of the day. I think my garage was cleaner when they left than it was before they got here. All of these guys are hard working, honest ,and want to please. One thing very important...I trusted all of them. I see no place on this page to insert photos...so I am going to submit the review and see if I can then insert them (I have inserted photos for other reviews)- Vernus C.

ACrowe Counters at Granite Countertop WarehouseI made may own measurement before calling them and asked for a quote with that information with granite color we have chosen. The quote they gave me was sent through an email with the details of the job to be done. I then asked other companies around town for other quotes since they said they will match any written offer. I had an offer which has a lower price for a sink and did not charge the sink cut out , but has a higher price per sq.ft for the same granite color. I presented it to them and they matched the other offer , lowering the price of the sink and not charging the sink cut out , which was almost $200 less with the initial quote. I moved forward and hired them to do the work , where they initially charged me 50% of the quoted price after which the template measurement was scheduled the following Monday. I was also informed that installation will be 2 weeks after the template was done. They called me Friday but was not able to answer the call and left a message on my phone to remind me of my schedule. They also sent me an email to let me know they called about the schedule and would wanted to be sure I was available which I responded back on the email. That Monday morning , the person who was doing the measurement told me he is on the way and gave a window time of when to expect him. He arrived within that time and went ahead to do his work where he took some pictures made the measurement and was done in about an hour. After two days , they sent me a copy of the measurement with the total adjusted price since I had some adjustments to my initial measurement. They also told my installation day was the following Monday , exactly 2 weeks after the template measurement. A week before my installation date , they sent me a picture of the what the counter top and vanity will look like even before it would be cut. I have the option to make adjustments if in case I was not satisfied with it. This was the final step before they cut the slab , so I have to approve it which I did. Again, they called me to inform of my installation date and what to expect that day. Monday came and their installers came with their truck , these 3 guys just kept working until it was done. They first took before pictures before ripping out the old counter top and vanity , took out the plates for the outlet then started to layout the granite. The kitchen counter top was laid out first , then one of the guys was left to finish it off , while the 2 guys worked on the vanity on the masters. When they were done on the vanity , I noticed the sinks were different in color , one was white and the other was cream. This was good for initially I wanted the white but the cream matches the granite color better. They then asked me what I want since they have both colors available on their truck so I went we cream. After everything was installed , they put the sealer then cleaned everything before having me sign the paper work. I was very satisfied with them , great communication and execution.- Dante F.

AAtlanta Intown GraniteThere was somewhat of a language barriar, but dispite that, the finished job was just beautiful! They installed the granite on the countertops, and they even made a small, half-circle table in the same material so it all looks like it was originially made to go together!- Donna T.

AWilson HandymanMr Wilson was very punctual when we met and after inspecting and determining the repairs that needed to be done, gave a very reasonable price for the repairs that were needed including labor. Mr Wilson promptly started the repairs the next day; repairing rotted flooring, laying the new floor tile, installing a new counter, counter top, sink and garbage disposal in the kitchen. The job was very professionally done and I will definitely use him in future endeavors. I own a town home triplex and will definitely call him first for all future repairs that I encounter.- Shari W.

AMy wife and I wanted to change out 20 year old white tile kitchen countertops and backsplash. We read reviews from Angie’s List and other sites for various sites. AA Marble & Grant had top-notch reviews and we decided to check them out. They did an excellent job with providing their showroom with numerous granite, marble and quartz slabs. Phillip was very helpful, knowledgeable and easy to work with. We provided rough diagrams and measurements in advance using their PDF file. We ended up selecting a granite top from Brazil and were very pleased in the color and stone quality. The pricing for material and installation was fair and reasonable. The contract agreement was a bit lengthy, but manageable and we paid a deposit of 1/2 the cost. AA scheduled a person to come by the house and perform measurements for the countertops and cutouts for sink and cooktop. We also were changing the kitchen island top and a butler section top. We had our white tile backsplash removed a couple of days before the templates were measure. After the template measurements were made we went back to AA to look at the slab with template pieces to see how it would look. Once settled on cutout templates, we scheduled an installation date. It took a couple of weeks to get an install date with the Thanksgiving Holiday coming up. Phillip at AA did a good job of calling with reminders before the install date. The installers were in time for the date and schedule given. They did an excellent job installing the granite tops and smoothing and blending the seam where two large pieces came together. We got an under mount sink which was cut in advance. The faucet and soap dispenser holes were cut on site. The gas cooktop section was cut on site. Nice job in measuring, cutting, smoothing out edges. A couple of minor nicks were made on Sheetrock while installing in a very tight spot. (These were spackled and repainted within a couple of days). We are very pleased with AA Marble & Grant from beginning to end. The granite countertops are beautiful. We hired Mauricio Campos recommended by AA to do prep work on disconnecting the cooktop and sink plumbing and reconnect after the countertops were installed. Campos also installed the new backsplash tile and did outstanding work. I highly recommend AA Marble & Grant for quality countertops.

FIt started off week with George being on time and receptive to the work I was asking to have done. I had a fireplace that needed tiled, a few bricks replaced, some painting, caulking, and a little drywall work that needed to be finished. He originally said it would take approximately a week. his employee showed up on time the first day, but brought no tools and said he didn't know what he was going to do at my house. I accepted this one case of being ill prepared and let the guy use some of my personal tools. He said next time he would have everything he needed. He showed up again the next day worked about 4 hours caulking wainscoting, then left. No one returned to my house to work for 4 days. No calls, no email, just no one showed until i texted to see when they would be back. (this was after the supervisor asked for $300 for work completed) I went on a business trip for approximately a week. When I returned there was trash all over the room (boiled peanuts, soda bottles, etc) paint all over the windows, new hardwood floors, my personal tools, and even all over my kitchen. I sent George an email with pictures and had him come look at the state of my house. He told me he was going to fire the guys responsible and fix it immediately. Over the next 3-4 days they cleaned up a few hours a day. After that ni one worked on it again for a few days. Then the same guys they "fired" came back to work. Long story short they never finished. After they painted over a cracked drywall seam and I asked them to fix it, the supervisor looked right at me and asked "How?". I let them fix that pointed out a few other mistakes I wanted fixed (they didn't) and asked them to leave. We then argued over the bill for a couple weeks until they came down to a reasonable price for what they did. I now have to invest more time and money into as project that should have been complete weeks ago. Never hire these guys.
