"they did a very good job, specially on the transition between the living and the dining room. The dining room had hardwood floors, and the living had carpet. they" removed the pieces that were cut and replaced them with entire pieces so that the transition was seamless. Very good Sales and service provided by
at the Memorial location.

"The work was supposed to take 1 week. The work was completed on time, but the result were absolutely horrible. There were globs of stain, visible unfinished wood" in places, large areas of discoloration along the walls where they scratched the wood and tried to quickly re-sand/refinish select areas, and the list goes on.
came back to review the work and agreed that the work was not good. He apologized, said he was embarrassed, and promised to make it right. We wanted to give him the benefit of a doubt, so we agreed to let him refinish the whole house. The results from the second pass were not much better. Not only is the stain again uneven and streaky, but now the floor is cupping.
will not respond to our phone calls, so we had to hire another company to fix his work.

From the wall street journal online:

"Etiquette and tipping experts agree that tipping a contractor and his employees isn't expected because contractors offer to do a job for you at a specific price. Any extra money they would want would be built into their bid. Also, it's a business relationship rather than one where they are performing a personal service for you like a waiter or a maid. But if the employees do extra jobs around the house, then experts say it is appropriate to tip a cash amount equivalent to the task; "tip gifts" such as cookies and drinks can count. "The key to tipping is whether or not it was outside the scope of what was normally expected," says Mark Brenner, author of "Tipping for Success!"

My opinion is that a little bit of courtesy (snacks, drinks, expression of appreciation etc.) goes a long way and upon completion of their work you feel compelled by a job well done to offer a little extra in the form of a tip - go for it, but do not feel obligated.
I agree with your choice - this is about the only product that can realistically, for a large room, be taken out and cleaned up after a flood and reused, thouhg carpet can be if you strip it into smaller pieces to carry wet, AND you have somewhere to wash and dry it - that is usually the problem. However, bear in mind it still has to be done within about 2 days or mildew/mold will grow on it, and may or may not be totally removeable. My personal preferences - mostly because their products are consistent, the joints stay snapped together, and they are not overly soft (a problem with cheap vinyls) are Pergo, Tarkett, Armstrong. Whatever you buy, be sure it can come back apart - some plank products are not made with a self-adhering contact glue in the joints that prevent you from taking it apart again, and some brands their snap design, while maybe better at preventing joint separation, cannot feasibly be unsnapped without tearing or breaking it off. Also, be sure whatever brandname and product line you choose it 100% vinyl (other than the urethane surface protective layer) - many vinyl floor products have paper or fiber cores or other water-absorbing components. Remember that, on concrete, since it wicks soil moisture through it, you till need a 6 mil vapor barrier under the flooring and positively sealed all around the edges to avoid the risk of mold growing on the underside of the vinyl.
Agreed.  If you have existing cracking in porcelain you need to know the cause first.  I don't know of any reputable contractor that would dare install tile over existing tile.  Also, any manufacturer warranties for defects would be null due to improper installation.  Did the contractor offer this solution or did you ask for it?  The mear fact that he is agreeing to or offering it tells me you need to leave this guy for someone who knows what they are talking about before he does only half the job which will have to be redone in the near future, costing you more in the long run.

I get so many calls from customers that were talked into a "cheaper" way to do something only to find the work very sub-par.  The sad part is they are out the money they spent in the first place along with the additional amount I have to charge just to undo what the first contractor did before I can do it right.  This floor could end up costing you double what it should if it's not done right.

Flooring reviews in Arab

We worked with Zac who did a great job. Initially we didn't find the carpet we wanted at
Arab Flooring Contractors Provider Name Locked
, but found what we wanted at another flooring place. When we called Zac about the carpet, he was able to find it and at a price that was significantly less than the other flooring place. In discussing our carpet choice with him, we learned more about the carpet we chose and the pros and cons behind it. he was up front about the lead time needed for the carpet installation. Given that, we were able to schedule our carpet installation for the time we wanted. When we needed to change the installation dates, we were able to do so with ease.
The installation took two days. One of the carpets we chose has a geometric pattern on it. Zac warned us that we might be able to see the seam as that kind of pattern is hard to make seamless. My husband and I can find the seam, but we really have to look for it. We can't find the seams unless we look really really really hard. The installers did a great job. There were a couple of grease spots that we found, but the installers came out the next day from us calling to clean up the areas.
We would highly recommend Zac and

to anyone for their carpeting needs.

convinced me to get the less expensive Mohawk SP210 rather than the 40-cents/sqft more expensive Westwind Bay. My mistake. I was also surprised by the 8 lb pad -- I inspected and walked on it when it was being installed; it was hard, thin, and filled with wood chips and scrap vinyl flooring shards, and not much foam. Under the installed carpet, the pad now makes crunching sounds when walked on (probably the wood chips breaking) and feels like the carpet was laid directly on concrete. If I were to do-over, I would have stuck with the denser Westwind Bay carpet at a slightly higher price, gone with a 6 lbs pad, and rejected the pad if anything was wrong with it before installation. The combination of a higher-quality carpet and pad would make for a much more comfortable and cushy floor; well worth the marginally higher cost.

was extremely professional from the start. We needed an expert opinion with our peaking, laminate floor.
Arab Flooring Contractors Provider Name Locked
arrived on-time and performed an evaluation. Our flooring situation turned into a bigger issue that is beside the point of this review. The bottom line is this: the entire S & M Hardwood crew care about their customer's needs and satisfaction. When selecting future flooring designs, we learned that
Arab Flooring Contractors Provider Name Locked
carefully selects the individual pieces of flooring to compliment the area they are located in. He chooses pieces of the selected floor that have more character and places them in popular areas such as the kitchen or foyer to add more personality. He strives to make the entire experience focused on the customer. Our personal flooring situation continued over two years and

was patient and professional throughout. S & M Hardwood provides honest and professional business and keeps the customer's cares and concerns as the only priority.

I'm not entirely comfortable giving
Arab Flooring Contractors Provider Name Locked
an overall grade of "F" but assigning a grade is required in order to complete a review. Under the circumstances, I'm not sure what grade is fair. I contacted Amber for an estimate after reading positive reviews. I received a prompt appointment. As promised, the company representative followed-up with an email that included an estimate for the work. I responded to him (by email) asking several questions about the scope of the work and possible variations. I've never received a reply or other communication from anyone at Amber. I assume they're not interested in doing the work.

Removed old carpet in two rooms and spent three extra hours leveling floor in one room at no extra charge. Removed water damaged hardwood and integrated new pieces into the existing wood floor. The workers perform excellent work and are very professional.

I chose the tile then S&N picked up the tile for me. I changed the pattern I wanted the tile to be set in at the last minute and they made the change without extra charge. No loose tiles after almost 2 years.

I left
