    Montgomery Surgical Center
We were greeted cheerfully by Flossie, the receptionist. She is very friendly and empathetic. The woman that processed our insurance information was very efficient and professional. We had a bit of a wait before my husband was called back for pre-surgery, but I don't think that is controlled by the MSC, but rather by the individual Drs.schedule. I was allowed to be with my husband during his wait. HIs nurse in pre-surgery was very nice and friendly. My husband had a consultation with the anesthesiologist prior to his surgery and he seemed very competent and put us at ease. After the surgery, I was summoned to the recovery room to be with my husband. His nurse was very, very friendly and reassuring. She provided excellent after care instructions and called to follow up the day after surgery. The areas I saw before and after surgery seemed fully equipped and clean. There is coffee provided in the waiting room. The room is big, light and airy with tons of seating. Families of surgical patients are permitted to bring outside food and drink. I noted that the staff is strict about only one person being allowed be in pre-surgery and post surgery with the patient. This was my husband's third use of the MSC. He had his cataract surgery there too. Our experience at that time was about the same.

    Grubbe, Dr. Robert E.
I had been diagnosed with emphesema but fely like that was impossible since I never smoked. I also needed help with my allergies. When I went to see him, he did some tests and determined I needed medicine for my allergies , and medicine for asthma and went back to be retested in 3 months. My lung function had improved by 30% and I could breathe better without feeling as tired . I cintinued under his care until I moved out of the area. I was very satisfied with his treatment.

They gave me drops instead of shots that I put under my tounge. I am still having migraines. I just have to watch what I eat.

I would not recommend his practice to anyone though, because of the office staff. The staff for the most part are cold and uninterested in you as anything more than a chart. The office manager is downright rude. It is amazing that that this office stays in business. I will never set foot in his office again unless the office manager is fired, because she spoke disrespectfully about my wife in front of my 8 year old son. We currently drive to Birmingham for all of our allergy/asthma needs. Do not use this office if you don't have to. I also believe that he schedules too many appointments for maintenance so that he can make money. If I'm not well, or shots are not going well, I will come see you, I've had immunotherapy for longer than he has been a doctor...I think that I have an intimate knowledge of my body.

    Brentnall, Dr. Charles
I told him it had been over 3 years since my last skin test and I want to get another skin test done because my allergies had gotten worse. I also have acne. He was concerned about the allergies on the initial visit. The next two visits (9/29/09 and 10/6/09) he was more concerned about my acne. I told his nurse I had been having problems due to my allergies, I saw her write it down, but when he came in there was no talk of allergies only about my acne. I told him that, while I have had acne for a very long time, I was more concerned about my allergies. He wanted to do a microderm abrasion on my face, asked what insurance I had, and was excited because they would pay for the procedures. I was scheduled for an allergy test on 10/06/09, so I stopped taking all my allergy medicine like you are supposed to do, but when I got there it was a procedure for my face. I left before they did any thing. This man does not want to treat allergies but dermatology. When you look around the office there are advertisements for dermatology procedures and medicine and not one thing on allergies. I saw no one getting allergy shots, which is what happens in an Allergist's office.
