AHimmelwright ConstructionWe were pleased that Brad was available and interested in helping us out, even though it was right in the middle of the summer construction season. The project consisted of two phases. The first was building a ramp in the garage and widening the front porch where it comes in from the garage. The second phase was widening the doorways inside our home so that the wheelchair could enter easily into the bathrooms and bedrooms. He also installed foldup grab bars in the bathrooms to make transfers easier from the wheelchair to the toilets. Brad did a fabulous job with both phases, as well as the cleanup, and we couldn’t be happier with the outcomes. We liked the fact that he was easy going and open to our suggestions for refinements in design. A true craftsman, Brad also made several suggestions of his own that we readily agreed to. Brad referred us to other specialists, such as a sheet rock installer and a painter, which saved us a lot of time and streamlined the work. Like every other contractor we’ve known, Brad keeps a flexible work schedule, but this didn’t prevent him from completing the work on time so that we could happily bring my wife back home again.- Craig M.

AOlhausen Construction and Management, LLCThe repairs for 4 areas of my concrete foundation footers in the crawlspace went great. All 4 area repairs were reinforced with high strength concrete as designed by the P.E. design. Clarence even came up with an approach on the floor joist repairs with 2 pony walls that I did not even think of. All of our expectations were met and every major steps of the project were discussed with me as it progressed. Highly recommend Olhausen Construction & Mgt. for your home projects/repairs. He had to replace a split level home staircase down to the stringers to meet the muni code and also finish our kitchen( crown molding and island paneling). He was very detailed and had continuous communication with us. Moreover he let us work on the demo with him to save some money. AA to Z Handyman ServicesThe 8 cabinet drawers arrived, had no installations directions, and didn't quite fit in the cabinets. Paul adapted the drawers and had them all installed in 6 hours, The new range hood did not have a plug and Paul wired a plug to replace the new (ineffective) exhaust fan/microwave unit that came with the house. Paul installed a stainless backsplash behind the stove, and of course (Murphy's Law), the steel backsplash had pre-drilled holes where no studs were present. Paul had the hardware to fix the problem. Paul installed 33 drawer handles and cabinet knobs, all perfectly measured. I have a number of other fixes that he will be called upon to do: new sink (the spec sink isn't deep enough to fill a plant watering can), garage sink, and flower bed. Paul is multi-talented, and can overcome the inadequacies of the (supposedly primo) product you purchased, to install and have the product perform as you envisioned, Paul is very professional, courteous, friendly, timely, and efficient. AGreat. Josh had the old one demo'd and hauled off in no time. There was a slight delay with material, but it didn't impact the delivery of the job. I would've like to have gotten started earlier in the summer, but it is an awesome, yet simple, built to code, place for us to relax.

AI am disabled and needed a ramp. This is Alaska. Winter is coming. I envisioned a ramp covered in snow and ice. A cover would be necessary, since also my ability to remove snow from the car was compromised. I needed a carport. Jayme Phillips is one of those incredible finds. He takes care to solve all problems from the beginning. He works to check and recheck so that as the project goes up everything fits amazingly. The two others who live here also wanted covered parking, so the carport grew from an accommodation for one to an accommodation for three. Because the land is uneven, High Level Construction virtually leveled the base on sono tubes mid air. It is perfection. As the structure rose, All things fit together exceptionally well. The work is solid and now that we've used the carport, it is amazing and meets our needs to perfection! I will use this contractor again, in fact when the painter and gutter installer are finished, he'll return to spread gravel/pit run under the carport to level the surface. Jayme Phillips isn't just a contractor, he's one you'd hope to find and delivers far beyond what you'd expect. Finished product is beautiful. And when he's finished the work is neat and the trash is bagged up. Exceptional!

DThe deck foundation is great. The stairs to the deck are great. The decking boards are spaced so close together that they didn't drain. It's taken fall, winter, and summer for the boards to shrink enough to drain water. The bench seats are about 4" too high, as even a 6-foot man's toes barely touch the deck. The seats are not deep enough, as they cut you off at the knees when sitting and dangling your feet because of the height. The support boards are not faced for ease of snow shoveling. The bench backs are too high and not angled back enough for comfort. The 2x6 bench beams have split where they are screwed to the floor. Chad Staats said he would fix the seats last October (2018), and I waited on this review until he fixed the problem. It's now 8 months later (August 2019), Chad still is "too busy" to fit me in, and in fact doesn't even answer my emails, so I have to find a contractor that really knows what they are doing to fix this problem, at a considerable cost to me. Apparently, this was his first deck with benches. No, I would not hire Perfection Home Repairs, Chad Staats, again, unless he had evidence of previous experience in what I was hiring him for.

BWe had 2 1/2 baths remodeled. Overall we are happy with how bathrooms turned out. Working with Ted and his son started off very well; but as job progressed there was a definite lack of communication and many misunderstandings. Ted is very much into following installation 'guidelines'; however they are just guidelines and every home is different and poses different challenges. In the end it seemed that we had to point out several little discrepancies with his work and it became very frustrating at times. He prides himself on being very neat and cleaning up after himself. We did not see that in our home. We have gone through interior remodels before in other homes we have owned; and we did not see a lot of 'common sense' when it came to working within the home and creating vapor barriers or even cleaning up areas where he was cutting tile/flooring. A lot of this could have been avoided if planned differently. Also, towards the end, felt like he was 'nickel and diming' costs. Charging costs of changes on us due to lack of communication as well as transporting costs (which he never mentioned). Again, this could have been avoided if communication would have been better. I am thinking Ted's experience would be better suited for outdoor projects like building a deck versus interior remodeling.
