Car Inspection reviews in North Pole

I like everything about them. One, they're honest. They do the work that they say they're going to do. When they inspect the car, and there's a list of things that need to be done and they'll tell you which one should take priority and which ones could be left to another time. They go over everything with you. They're thorough and they're professional. They're real people, you can talk to the mechanic if you wanted to. They'll show you the parts the place that other mechanics tell people to take their cars to a family. We've lived here in this community since 1961. We're old, so, we've had multiple cars, we've been to multiple places over the years, and we finally found one that had a full confidence. They have a wonderful waiting room with Netflix and free popcorn and newspaper and they'll talk to you. They're associated with NAPA parts. They guarantee their work. It's absolutely remarkable, ethical, moral, efficient and very knowledgeable. In fact, the owner, if he finds one of his mechanics hasn't done something right or hasn't done what has been told, he loses his employment. So, it's a small, privately owned place, and they have a real camaraderie, a small group, probably a dozen people there and it's tremendous there from really good morale and the staff and you can stand right there and watch everything going on. It's wonderful.

We've used these guys exclusively since we moved to Fairbanks in 2004. They've worked on our '02 Yukon XL, our '91 Dodge Dakota, our '86 Suburban. Brad is very good about calling us about what needs to be done, they have been honest and thorough. We are so lucky to work with them and an added bonus is that they are located close to UAF campus where we work, so logistics usually work out well.

I went into the shop with hopes of getting an answer to what was making the funny noise on my left front wheel.  Within a couple of minutes, the mechanic drove my car around and gave me the answer I was looking for. He didn't even charge me anything for that. I didn't go back, only because my husband wanted to do it himself, but if I didn't have my husband, I would have definitely had University Chevron do the work for me! They were very nice and helpful. Their prices were competitive too.

I had a check engine light come on, they said over the phone it would take about 5-10 minutes to check it out and give a quick diagnostic, and would be $25.  |I arrived, explained who I was, and the longest part of it was answering the questions for the new customer registration! |Great service!

They were very nice and helpful.  The staff gave me a ride home while they worked on my vehicle.  I was happy to find out nothing was wrong with it, even though it is 12 years old.  It was an inexpensive inspection and oil change.  However, the next day, the electrical system freaked out and about two weeks later, the radiator began leaking.  I am not sure they could have caught these things on the inspection.  It turns out I had a loose ground fault wire causing the electrical problem and the engine block heater shorted out causing, somehow, the coolant to leak out.  Had to take the vehicle to the dealership several times to resolve the problems. I would like to think they couldn't have caught these things on the vehicle inspection, but we'll probably never know.  They were very professional and helpful; however, I will take my vehicle to the dealership for work from now on.

The entire staff was very polite/professional. It was surprisingly quick given the fact that they were obviously very busy that day. I really appreciated them coming to me with different filters and rather then trying to convince me I needed to replace it (like most 'quick oil change' places do) they would say, "maybe next time you might want to think about replacing this" and then explain why. (no big sales push). Great place. Only complaint...the coffee was gnarly! (but I was in and out before I could drink it, so that's not an issue! :-)

Simard was recommended to me by someone in town. I made the appointment over the phone. They were ready for me and performed all tasks ahead of schedule. I waited for the car in there upstairs waiting room and read a book. The folks that work there are friendly and helpful. Not the least or most expensive in town but well worth the $$$ spent.

Got my car winterized for the harsh Fairbanks winters. My husband already installed an oil pan heater and they offered me advice on how to winterized my car on my own if I didnt want to do it myself. I was impressed that they had the expertise to know just what my Audi A4 would need since they do not make a block heater for this car. A trickle charger and an additional heating components were installed by them in addition to what I already had done and my car did EXCELLENT all winter even below 50 F plugged in outdoors. they offered me a free oil change for giving them a future referral and I was very pleased with their service.

I would recommend them. They're fast. I didn't have to wait to get my car in. They're right there to take they keys. They told me to have a good day and that they'll call me when it's ready.
