    Alaska Club West - Anchorage
The place is clean. They usually aren't too busy. They have a lot of good instructors for classes.

    Studio One Pilates
The front desk is friendly. The instructors are friendly and are very good at correcting your form during the class. The instructions are detailed which will help one to use the muscle correctly. Regarding to mat classes, all three levels (core, level 1, level 2) are beneficial to me (I have been practicing pilates consistently for the past 3 years, at least 3x per week. The 1st two years in the lower 48). My lower abs are a lot stronger due to their unique style of breathing and incorporating the muscle for kegeling. Strongly recommend the studio.

They are pretty good and are one of the major fitness clubs in the area. It's a nice fitness center and the staff is good.

    Body Renew - North Keizer
Their personal training services stand out and make them unique. They have several personal trainers. My personal trainer is extremely well trained and knows what he is doing. I think the price is quite reasonable. They have half hour time slots. The locations are very convenient for me. I moved from one workout facility to Body Renew in order to have better prices and better training. Their customer service is very good. They have a website that is amazing. You can make your appointment on the website and schedule your training.

    Studio One Pilates
The studio is bright, clean and very well run. It is a pleasure to arrive there in the morning. Everyone who works there is attentive and willing to help. I take the level one mat class at 9:30. The class is an hour long. The first part of the class is devoted to making sure we get a strong core connection. The instruction is careful, deliberate and designed for us to successfully move from one exercise to the next. Kristina Holdridge, our instructor, is upbeat, funny and encouraging. She gives specific ques and instructions and often does the exercises with us. She also will make individual corrections when she sees that someone needs help. Kristina varies the exercises over the week so the sessions are comprehensive and never boring. Classes include stretching, bosou, extension, footwork, balance, and core connection and strengthening. The classes are challenging while at the same time clients are encouraged and shown how to modify a particular exercise to accommodate any injuries or limitations they might have. Works for me!

    Studio One Pilates
I was surprised that this was not an elitist gym, but rather a health-focused facility, where all can improve, and all are welcome. The folks there have also tried other modalities, and evolved a system that is simple, effective, and produces results.

    The Alaska Club
It is a beautiful facility and they offer a lot of services, but the cost and hours were the biggest factors that led me to another gym. They offer different levels of memberships but only at certain clubs (as the Wasilla club doesn't have 24 hours like the Palmer club). For someone who works in Anchorage and only has a few hours to go by you might as well plan on hitting it during peak hours. For those reasons alone I chose to not join this club, if you work in the Valley or have more time then it might be for you.

    The Alaska Club
It has a pretty easy access. They have really good services there. It is pretty cool because they have their own indoor gym, swimming pool and exercising room. They even have their own day care center in there. The people there are pretty cool. They are helpful and they know what they are doing. They don't try to sell you an idea; they actually know what they are talking about. I think the price is reasonable.

Excellent. Paul explains the anatomy and spends plenty of time making sure everyone understands the exercises. His teaching style is gentle, informed and gets results. Angelique also knows her stuff and it was good to have 2 teachers in the room. I will continue to take classes at Studio One.
