    IMAGINATION STATION
I have used this center for almost 10 yrs. they are amazing. They treat everyone like family, my children love them, and I love them. My eldest went there from age 2 till 11, and my youngest started at 3 1/2 months. Everything from safety, education, family styled environment I can not complain.

    MY FAVORITE PRESCHOOL
I am a stay at home mom. I needed my son to have time with other children before entering kindergarten. Ms Kiri was aware of this fact and helped my son both learn school related subjects but to also work on social skills. I now have my second son enrolled. He has a completely different personality then my first child. She has worked with him on his own level/needs.

    MORNING STAR CHRISTIAN SCHOOL
The children were well taken care of. At times, there were language barriers with the director but not the teachers.

    LITTLE RED SCHOOL HOUSE
I have had my 16 month daughter in this daycare for about a month now. The staff have been great! She is always happy to go to "school" and is always in a great mood when I pick her up at the end of the day. The staff in the infant room are great and have been working with her on her walking skills and fine motor skills. Her vocabulary is beginning to improve too. The daily report card tells me exactly what she ate and when she napped which makes planning how easy bed time is going to be a breeze.

    GAN YELADIM PRE-SCHOOL
Their school is absolutely phenomenal. They prepare the kids for school and teach them to use the bathroom. They help them with their transition from preschool to kindergarten. They also have a strong foundation in Jewish faith.

    Anchorage Montessori School
I've had a wonderful experience with AMS. My children started in the toddler program at age 2 and we are keeping them there until the end of 6th grade. We even did what so many do and took our oldest out after preschool to enroll him in a public school, but it's my experience that the public school system can't really help children excel. The funding is there to bring children up to standard, but not to help fast learners move forward quickly and excel. So, we transferred him back to AMS and haven't look back since. The level of education the kids get at AMS is second to none. AMS is a private school and the tuition is higher than some other schools, but it is well worth it. The teachers are exceptional and the support from the entire staff and other parents is wonderful. And, being a school that accepts toddlers through sixth grade, it's consisetnt for the children, which is so important. It is a Montessori school and follows the Montessori philosophy, so unlike more traditional schools, parents don't help in the classroom, but there are so many other ways parents can volunteer their time and take part in their child's education. I have never felt like I wasn't receiving enough information or updates as to how my child is doing in school. As far as communication between the teachers and parents, and student evaluations (report cards), I was very impressed at my son's parent-teacher conference. Unlike the public school he briefly attended, his AMS teacher knew exactly where he stood in each subject, to where she even pinpointed the part in certain math problems he was having problems with. I have never been to such a detailed parent-teacher conference. It was wonderful.  Regarding another comment I saw on this site, there has never been a time when I've seen kids dressed inappropriately for the weather at AMS. In fact, if a child comes to school unprepared for the day's weather (we've forgotten snowpants before), the teacher has them borrow appropriate clothing so they'll be warm enough outside. I would highly recommend this school to anyone seeking a good education for their child.

    STARBRIGHT EARLY LEARNING CTR
They charged $800 without lunch, and if you get lunch it is $950. They have a sibling discount, so if you have two children going there, they give a discount. They are a state accredited school, so they have teachers, not just random people. They have people who have gone to college for teaching, and they follow the Anchorage curriculum. They make them kindergarten ready. It was more like a day care. They also had a phenomenal kindergarten teacher. They leave the school knowing how to read, and write, and science trips.

    HILLCREST CHILDREN'S CTR INC
We have been very pleased with the family centered environment and the thoughtful and attentive care provided by the staff of this parent-run nonprofit child care center. We particularly like that the center has a large outdoor play area and prioritizing providing the children with some unstructured time outdoors each day to work on motor skills and use up their energy. There is also a flower and vegetable garden on the preschool playground and during the summer months the children participate in taking care of the garden and harvesting the vegetables.

    CAMP FIRE USA AK COUNCIL
I asked the school what program, if any, they had and was referred to Campfire.  I applied online and was waitlisted.  After only a week or so a spot opened for my kid.  I got the call on Friday, sent immunization record and physical on Monday along with my prorated payment, and my kid started Tuesday.  Too easy.
