    Jay's Automotive
When I first moved to Anchorage (in 1999) and my vehicle battery died, I asked the expert at Alaska Battery if he could recommend a local mechanic. He told me, "I would never take my car anywhere but Jay's Auto." After more than 18 years of engaging Jay to help with our many vehicles, I still completely agree with this rousing endorsement. Jay is a certified expert mechanic for Mazda, has a wealth of expertise working with many vehicle types, has the highest standard of integrity, and is a pleasure to do business with. He has helped us evaluate, maintain, and repair our vehicles through the past two decades (Mercedes, Porsche, Toyota, Ford, Mazda, Subaru, and Bigfoot - including trucks, RV's, vans, SUV's, hybrids, sedans, and several convertibles). And, if a repair is outside his area of expertise, he knows who to send us to for excellent service. Jay has been unfailingly welcoming, kind, and honorable. His work is the highest quality, timely, and he has earned our trust for guidance on when and what maintenance or repairs are needed. He accommodates our schedules, minimizes costs, and occasionally reminds us about tire switches and routine maintenance - which is much appreciated. It is always a pleasure to have work done through Jay’s Auto. We know our vehicles will be safe. That the work will be done right. Quickly. At a reasonable cost. With genuine care. An auto repair experience just doesn’t get better than that.

I had no idea there was a company that would come to you to do a tire changeover! Costs about the same so why on earth would you go to a tire place and wait in line? They were prompt, professional and affordable. Absolutely going to call them from now on for tire changeovers.

    ANCHORAGE TIRE FACTORY
It went smooth, as always. They have free wifi and a nice lobby area with tables and chairs, so I bring my laptop and work in the lobby while I wait. They also have a TV on to pass the time, and free popcorn and coffee. Anchorage Tire Factory does all of our automotive work, we've had them replace our brakes, axles, and many other repairs, and even did headlight conversions on my old pickup to the modern h4/9003 bulbs. The prices are honest, the work is solid, great folks, no problems ever.

    BALTAZAR TIRE SHOP
Went well. I took in my 1975 Fiat after it arrived in April. They let me pick my tire from the used area and I was done in less than an hour. The place is kinda dirty but It's a tire place. Then my tire went flat after a day so I brought it back to find out my valve stem was bad. They changed it to my spare free. Not just the tire but put the other tire on the rim again. Nice guys. Affordable.

It was freezing cold and my husband had already stripped one of the wheel bolts trying to change the tires himself. He had found Jason's number at one of the tire shops in town and decided to call him. Jason was very polite and his response was quick. We made an appointment for later in the day. About an hour later we got a call and Jason told us he could come up early. Hooray! It took some time but he managed to get the tire off. He then went out and purchase the tires, brought them to the house and put them on for us. (No mark up on the tires.) He also changed the tires on another truck we had sitting in the driveway. He was very polite, knowledgeable and responsible. Jason Woscek is a young man in his thirties with a college education who has decided the best way to make it in the world is to be your own boss. We were very pleased with his work and come spring, no more waiting around for my turn at the tire shop. I''ll call Jason and he'll come to the house and change my winter tires over to my summer tires. Meantime, I'm free to do (or not do) anything I want.

    BATTERY SPECIALIST OF ALASKA
I have been using BatterySpecialistsOfAlaska for years now.  I buy lead/acid batteries for m'home, boat, cars--- everything.  They check your old battery and charging systems readily- no charge.  Recent visit was for a new boat (an OLD boat)- new to me.  I brought both batteries in for testing-- and they said--- 'these are fine-- you have 2 good barteries here!" This is a good place!

    Alaska Tire And Rim
On one occasion I had a bolt off/bolt on seasonal tire change done that another provider refused to do on a technicality where they did not have the experience to understand the truck tire rating.  Alaska Tire and Rim did this for a very reasonable fee.  On my major purchase of 4 motorhome tires, they very clearly explained my choices and my necessities in getting these four in place on my six wheel rig and performed the work very efficiently with my time.  I was being picky and for these two issues I  was in the shop maybe 9 times in 3 months for consultation and service.  I found the owner and staff to be very experienced, friendly, helpful, competent & patient with me and with all the number of customers I observed in those times (whether the customer appeared to be budget minded or technically minded).  Prices were not deeply discounted, but were very fair.  I prefer and found them to be very competent rather than overly "professional."

    Alyeska Tire - Soldotna
Excellent.  On time, properly mounted and inflated.  Pricing was per the promotional deal being offered by the store.  No problems through a brutal Alaska Winter.

    A&A The Shop
This was my first experience with A&A and had this work performed at their new Eagle River location(696-2096). Everything promised was performed exactly as desired in a very professional manner at a fair price. Their manager, Zack Barnett, was extremely pleasant to work with and we will definitely bring our Forester back when additional service is required.
