    The Alaska Wood Shop
Michael is working with us to build a birch dining table. I was hoping from the onset that my husband and I would be able to hand-pick the birch slab pieces ourselves, though I worried that may be an overreach. Not only did Michael give us a wonderful deal on the birch table and exactly to our specifications, but he also let us go through virtually every wood slab he had to pick our own pieces. It was such a wonderful experience! We spent an hour and a half at his shop going over every detail of the process. Michael thoroughly explained how he built the table, from cutting the slabs down, to putting them together, sanding, filling, etc. He left a lot of the design decisions to us - which slabs pieces would be the sides edges, which side of the plank we wanted, the finish (matte, semi-gloss, gloss), etc. He also advised us on pieces that he did not feel were up to standard - planks with cracks or large pits - so we felt like we were really getting the best product available. He described his working process in a way that assured me he's a meticulous, experienced and honest business owner. As a person who has worked in architecture for 13 years, this experience for me was very professional and satisfying. I got a big hand in the design process and have the utmost faith in Michael to provide all our furniture needs. I highly recommend Michael and the Alaska wood shop.

    Allens Professional Moving Services
I was thoroughly impressed by Larry and his crew. They were professional, efficient, very safety conscious, personable and knowledgeable. They moved my upright piano with ease from our old house to our new one. The speed at which they worked was truly astounding considering the utmost care they treated my piano with. These guys know what they are doing and they do it exceedingly well. I have already recommended them to my friends and family. I would not hesitate to use them again.

    LUGO'S UPHOLSTERY
The price quoted was $600 including labor and materials. We did not receive a written estimate (our fault - we didn't ask). The final price was $550 (an unsolicited discount). The work was top notch with exceptional foam and fabric (extra thickness on the foam seat) and excellent stitching with edging hemmed and staples covered. Mr. Lugo was very helpful, took time to show us options and explained the process. The work took about 8 days. Contact with two other employees when we dropped by to check on the progress was also very pleasant and helpful.

    The Windmill Furniture Restoration
He was excellent. I last used them in March. I gouged my oak desk, and they did a wonderful job. He came to our home office, he did the repairs quickly, and efficiently. You couldn't even find where the gouge was after he was done. He was a real artist.

    ALASKA WOODCRAFTERS
Mr. Poole of Alaska Woodcrafters was very professional, efficient, and understanding. . The recliner that my husband uses all the time  stopped working.  Mr. Poole  was able to determine what the problems were right away.  He did not need to take the chair from our home but returned the next day with the needed parts and repaired it for us.  We would definitely call on Mr. Poole for any further furniture repairs and highly recommend him.

Pressed On Time Delivery Service & Moving Co
I called Pressed For Time near lunchtime, having learned that I needed to have the piano I was being given out of its house the same day.  Fortunately, they were able to make time near the end of the day.  They called the first owner of the piano to let her know when they were coming, showed up as planned, and then I got a call giving me enough time to get to my house to meet them.  They were very pleasant to work with, and they treated the piano with visible care.  The piano wound up exactly where I asked without a scratch on it.

    ALASKA WOODCRAFTERS
We asked the owner of Hardware Specialties who they would reccomend for a job like this and she immediately said Bill Poole at Woodcrafters. We contacted Bill and he said he would come to our house and look at the furniture and explain the process and give us an estimate. He showed up at the exact time and date he said he would and carefully looked over each piece and explained what was needed to return them to their original condition and in some cases some joint strengthening that would improve them and gave us a price for it. This furniture has been in the family for 40 years and is very valuable because of the quality and scarcity and price of replacement since it was all made in Hawaii because of this we wanted to make sure we had the right person working on it. The replacement cost of all 13 pieces they worked on is in the neighborhood of $ 25 - 30,000 so the cost of the work was well worth the money. He encouraged us to stop by the shop and check the progress. We did a few days later and just about everything was disassembled and some pieces had been repaired all by Bill or his assistant. He did a beautiful job remaking the coffee table and the refinishing and repair of all the pieces was top notch.. if you want the work done correctly and quickly and to look great when its done take it to Woodcrafters . And since I didnt mention it - Bill Poole is on of the nicest people you will ever run into

    David's Piano Service
This man loves pianos and it shows in his work. My mom hired him to work on a piano (Steinway) that she bought refurbished in Germany. He made that piano sing! He worked for hours and when he was through the voice of the piano was beautiful. Mom says he has a permanent job and will use no one else in the future.

    David's Piano Service
David arrived on time and was very warm, respective, and courteous. He is very knowledgable and explained every step in his process. There were some tools that he forgot that he had to leave to go get but did not charge for the extra time. We had to order a new string and he called me with updates on the expected delivery time. He is meticulous and you can sense his good heart and love for music. Awesome experience!

    A WASLER SPECIALITIES
Exceptional, spectacular, awesome, .... Could not have been better! This was a project that was outside of their normal type of work. They had to use dovetail joints and work with extremely hard wood. The finished product is art quality. I love it and am proud to own it. The original bid ended up being below their actual cost. I was happy to pay extra as a tip because they were not willing to charge me an amount above the bid. I hope to have them build some custom cabinets for me in the near future.
