They worked in a tight area and my property was not disturbed in the least, except for the missing trees. FAce II General ContractorsHired Ace II to add a haul a few loads of gravel to my property to add to the existing gravel driveway. The bid included spreading and compacting. Also had them install two small block retaining walls, remove a few stumps, spread some topsoil, etc. We had a signed contract with a fixed price and any work beyond the contract was to be preapproved in writing. The work that was completed was substandard and not at all professional, in my opinion. They didn’t have a large enough crew for the job and left without fully completing it. I had to help spread topsoil and work on the retaining wall myself. I had to hire a compactor to finish working on the driveway after they left. They left construction materials and debris on site that I had to pay someone else to remove. Those are just a few of the problems they left. Then, Ace II had the nerve to present a bill that was 2 1/2 times what was agreed to...and with no amendments or changes to the fixed price contract! When I asked for load tickets from the gravel pit to compare to the number of loads they claim they delivered, they refused to provide them. When I pointed out the unfinished and substandard work, they didn’t correct it. I attempted to discuss the situation with Ray in a civil manner in order to resolve it, but he refused to have a conversation without cursing. He then had his attorney send me a letter to try to intimidate me. My attorney reviewed the case and said it was no brainer, they were trying to dramatically overcharge me for an unfinished, substandard job. He checked the court records (which you can do online - I should have) and discovered that they had just come off of an enormous lawsuit on another job. Sure wish I had checked that out before hiring them. My attorney fired off a letter in response and they backed down. I would never recommend this contractor to anyone.- David F.

FBait and Switch! I've never worked with a company so alluring and dishonest IN MY LIFE! Prior to loading day we had a $6,600 quote that was updated to a $10,500 quote only to have the truck and packers show up and increase our total to $20,000!!!!!!! We had packed everything but the furniture! The trucking company representative from Roadrunner (Polaris Moving is the parent company) said she was now our contact. She "fired Moving APT!!!" We are now in week 10 post moving to WI and our belongings are STILL NOT HERE!!! Roadrunner has taken our goods hostage forcing us to get a lawyer!! I will NEVER use Angie's List or a broker again!! This has been nothing short of a nightmare!

FI had used this company successfully 4 times in the past. This time I requested a quote online as always. The response came back from a company named Professional Auto Shippers with the same phone number as Executive Auto Shippers. They sent me a price and we set the first day of pickup as May 20. Understanding the 3 day pickup window, I got concerned late on the 21st. On a phone conversation I was promised someone would call me before the end of the day. That did not happen. The next day I called at about 10 AM because we had a 2 PM flight to return to Illinois. No answer or call back. We got in the car and made the drive back in 2 days. This morning I received information from the company and a truck driver that our car would be picked up sometime today, 7 days after the first pickup date. I told the driver we had already driven the car to Illinois. I doing a little research I learned apparently this company operates under several separate names, although the phone numbers are the same and the contact person, Ray Rodriguez is the same.
