AAK 49 RemodelingIn the process of buying our home, the inspection revealed a lengthy list of necessary repairs. The seller solicited a bid from AK 49 Remodeling to address these issues, and David found the root of the problem--inferior original construction to the point of missing support structures underneath the house which was causing most of the problems. As out of state buyers, we were kept in the dark about the home's true problems by our realtor and it wasn't until we arrived and met David that we knew what we were buying. He explained to us the true problems and was able to demonstrate them in a matter of fact way. We didn't hire him and were not the ones paying his bill, and there was no reason for him to explain these things to us beyond the fact that he's an honest, up front person. He also took the initiative of contacting the seller directly, who also lived out of state and had not been informed by his realtor of the problems with the house. David also contacted the original inspector with his findings, and informed the realtors that he had spread the information. This did not make him popular with the realtors. Not many contractors would go to this much trouble to ensure that people he didn't know weren't being taken advantage of. And thanks to him, the house is in much better shape than it was when we first stepped into it, and I'm positive it's in better shape than it would have been in the hands of a less ethically-minded contractor. As for the actual repairs, because we didn't hire them directly, we weren't completely aware of what they had been hired to do or when they would be working. But Kayla gave us a full day's notice of their arrival, and they arrived exactly when she said they would. The guys were very friendly, polite, and they cleaned up after themselves. The job stretched over several days and they always arrived when they said they would. One day it was too cold for them to work on the roof, and I was called several hours before they were supposed to arrive to let me know that they wouldn't be able to work until it was warmer. Sure enough, once the weather warmed up they came back and finished up their work. When the inspector came back, he commented how nice things looked and approved the repairs for closing. Being new to the area, we asked David for advice about a lot of things. He was always very friendly and helpful, never made us feel like we were bothering him. He even helped dig our vehicle out of the snow when we got stuck in the driveway. AK 49 Remodeling is the only contractor we will hire from now on.- Kristy M.

ASPARKY'S ELECTRICAL SERVICES, INC.They returned my call promptly, and were able to tell me what I needed to perform the necessary work myself, which involved buying a larger capacity plug. They were very helpful, and provided just the technical information I needed to be able to shop for the equipment and making the change myself. I was impressed at their willingness to diagnose my problem over the phone, and help me find a solution,even though it didn't involve them making a site visit. Based on this experience, I will call them next time when I have more electrical work.- Tom G.

AHad a lot of work done. I needed ceiling lights, connected to wall switches, put in for 4 second floor bedrooms, which had no existing light fixtures. Ed cut holes in the ceiling and installed 4 electrical boxes (fasten 3 studs and one brace). Then he went up into the attic, ran wire to the wall switch, and put in new double switches. He then installed 3 ceiling lights and one ceiling fan. Next he went back up into the attic and ran new wire into 5 closets, and installed lights in them. Those lights were connected to the double switches he had installed before. Ed then replaced an older ceiling light with a new one. Finally, he replaced a couple of older breakers with new ones and put in some blanks too. Ed charges a Flat Rate for the work, so if it takes longer, it does not cost more. He is very profession, shows up on time, and works hard for the entire time he is there. I plan on having him come back in the future to do some more work that needs to be done.

DOne hour to set up a 32 " TV and sound bar. We are now using 3 remotes to operate TV. Kept asking questions. Second hour was the Harmony remote. First he did not bring computer. Had to use ours. Kept asking questions. He did not connect all of our equipment, we need to get someone else to correct what he did. Our last remote programming was done in 20 minutes. Plus during this covid time, he had to use bathroom.
