This was a great patient/doctor experience. He took a great history and listened and answered all my questions.

The Alaska Neurology staff is always prompt, professional and friendly during the check-in process. We usually must wait a short while before being called to the examining room, but nothing lengthy. An assistant checks my daughter's temperature, BP, etc. Dr. Osterbauer then reviews my daughter's background information and asks how things are going. He always takes enough time to answer our questions and is very responsive to any concerns we may have.

My doctor is very good and knows her stuff. She looks at alternatives when assessing you. She is comparable to the other physicians in the hospital. The office is beautiful with a new clinic and a new facility.

The check up went very fine and I'd say he is very personable and he seems to be concern about you and your health. He takes time to talk to you and the only problem I had with him is that, it just very hard to get an appointment with him but everything went well.

    Tolbert, Dr. Marshall
He is in Providence Hospital; we are trying to avoid it because of the long distance.  He specializes in stents.  I have met him only a couple of times because we stay so far away.  He was the one who did the actual surgery.  I was unconscious so I did not get to meet him till later.  Once I met him, I liked him.  He was pretty straight forward with my family.  He was knowledgeable.  His office staff was gorgeous.  We had to sit in his office for a little bit.

My friend had a TIA and asked me to accompany him on his appt. to make sure he didn't forget to address all issues. Dr. Troxell was so sweet and polite and welcomed us both. There was a review of progress and great advice on future prognosis. She takes the time to listen, and being a neurologist, she doesn't just look at the brain--she is a whole body doc! We are lucky to have found her!

What I dislike is that they take your credit card to pay the bill before you have to see the doctor and I really don't like that. But she was a great doctor, she was very thorough and I think she gave me the right treatment

Dr Troxell seemed to understand the problem and the different treatment options, but her manner did not leave me feeling well cared for. The number of medication refills provided did not correspond to my follow-up appointment, leaving me short of meds. When I called with a question regaarding the treatment, I did not receive a call back. My experience is that neurologists in general do not have the best bedside manner. Why that is, I do not know, but there must be at least one neurologist out there who is as interested in the person being treated as in the neurologic problem.

Although the Doctors may be good, I will not be going there. I recently had an appointment for over a month. The day before the appointment I received a voicemail asking me to call back to confirm my appt and so they could let me know how much I would be expected to pay. This is something I had previously discussed with them because I have double coverage and have met my deductible there should be no out of pocket. Both companies will cover up to 80% of the usual and customary. When I was told I would have to pay a balance, I disagreed and the Scheduler got snippy. I then called my insurance company to verify that I would not have a balance owed and called the clinic back again. I then got a very upset woman (the same one) that became flat out rude and said "What is it that I have to do to make you happy?" I said "excuse me? I am not looking for you to "make me happy" other than give me the correct information. She then proceeded to argue with me all while accusing me of wanting to argue. ..... I received a call from her supervisor informing me I would have to pay in full and bill my own insurance and that how I spoke to his employee was unacceptable. I then told him the way that his employee spoke to a patient was unacceptable and if that is how their office treats patients I would rather not see their doctor. I cancelled my appointment.
