Boarding reviews in Big Lake

  • They are great! We board with them often and our boy loves it there. He is always excited when we pull into the parking lot and can't wait to get to the back to play with all his friends. We have used other kennels but Alaska TLC is our choice. The staff is very friendly and they spend time with their boarders and learn each ones personality and needs.

  • I have been taking my dog Abby to April and William since I adopted her at 4 months of age. Abby has attended both day care and has been boarded for periods of time. Abby came to me with anxiety and fear. She had significant separation anxiety, fear of men and children and fear of all strangers. From the first time I brought Abby to April and William she has had an excellent experience. Abby bonded with April immediately and was surprisingly comfortable with William. April and William have always provided excellent care and training for Abby. April has gone out of her way to research some of my concerns with Abby and helped me develop strategies and training to address behavioral problems. April has been instrumental in helping me help Abby. I am very impressed with the improvements that April and William have made to the day care and boarding including in floor heat so dogs with arthritis and other ailments are comfortable; agility equipment and the sand box. In the more than four years that Abby has been cared for by April and William she only had one minor injury when she got a very small stone in her eye. April called me immediately and took excellent care of Abby until I arrived. Abby had the object removed and happily returned to day care.
Abby is always extremely excited to see April and William. She is happy to come to day care or boarding and always has a good time. I have referred many people to April and William. I would unconditionally recommend this service to anyone, especially if there is a concern or the dog needs special care. The care is excellent, April is very knowledgeable and willingly researches issues and the rates are reasonable especially for the care the animals receive. It is weren't for April and William I am not sure I would have able to keep Abby. Abby and I are grateful for them.

  • Our pets have been treated as family since their first visit. Several of our friends have been referred to Pampered Paws along the way. We have never been disappointed and both Mosby and Etta always arrived at Pampered Paws excited for another visit.
Sadly we lost our Mosby last week and Etta was even more tearful and sad than we could bear. After three days of mourning and separation anxiety by Etta, we contacted Pampered Paws and asked if Etta could come and spend the day? During this last minute visit, without much coordination, Pampered Paws found time for Etta to come and mingle with the many other pets. Several hours later, Etta had regained some of her tail wag and life for all three of us was a little brighter.
Thank you Pampered Paws for finding the time to give our family some very much needed support and first-class care. Your card to the grieving parents was over the top! We'll bring our new pup and Etta to stay soon.
    Regards,

  • My little dog loves going to Pampered Paws. She gets to play with other dogs and has 24 hour in home human interaction and supervision. The price is reasonable and I don't have to feel guilty for leaving her when I travel.

  • When I picked him up I was informed that he had a loose stool from getting into another dog's food. Three days later we're at the vet because he'd lost 1.1 lbs., and his stool was still like water. In my opinion she has way too many dogs, allowed by law though they are, for just one person to handle well. He also came home with an unexplained scratched up nose. Which the vet said to him looked like he was and quot;possiblyand quot; left in kennel and had been trying to get out. He said that it's location on the nose and the overall look of the scratch was a familiar one to him and that that, was usually what made it. I had another appointment actually set to use her again until this possible scenario was told to me by my vet. In any case to be on the safe side I will be using a different grooming/boarding facility in the future. The overall look of her house and shop (which is what this facility is), is clean and there is a nice shaded yard for the dogs to play in. I was not really happy with the grooming performed either. I will use another groomer as well. The amount stated for the service in this review is for grooming.

  • The customer service is terrible. It is obvious that there is no leadership from the top, as the low paid employees are left to fend for themselves with no support or coaching from above. Don't leave your beloved pet in this place...you'll regret it!
