    SPOONS CATERING
I am almost 5000 miles away from the event location so almost all communications were by phone or email. Caterer Alex Fletcher was wonderful to work with. We wanted casual/barbeque and she came up with a menu that wouldn't repeat the menu items the next evening at the wedding reception. The dinner was held at a home we were renting near where the wedding would take place. Alex and I met for coffee to go over the details in person once I arrived in Anchorage. I felt very comfortable with her. On the day of, she brought supplies and food over early so they were ready to BBQ once guests began arriving. Her server did a great job with set-up and clean-up. There was nothing I needed to do or over-see. Everything went smoothly and she even had a wedding reception at another location at the same time !

    Sizzlin's cafe
We had our anniversary party catered last week by Sizzlin' Cafand eacute;. I hesitated calling at first, since the name sounds more suited to really good BBQ rather than gourmet appetizers for an elegant party, but am so tired of the eternal and quot;samenessand quot; of the catering menus of other downtown restaurants, I decided to give them a try...and I'm SO glad I did! Chef Rob was easy to work with and modified a couple menu items to suit my taste. Everything was original and delicious: Chilled scallops with lime vinaigrette, filet mignon brochettes, mini crab cakes, kalamata, artichoke and goat cheese tarts, salmon with beurre blanc, and reindeer wellington. Chef Rob arrived right on time and set everything up himself, then came back afterward and packed everything back to his restaurant. It could not have been a better experience!

    Charlie's Bakery
I am not a huge fan of Chinese Food, which despite the name, is the primary focus of Charlie's Bakery.  My husband loves Chinese food and thinks this place is wonderful, especially the steamed buns/rolls.  They are forever selling out of those.    However, this review is about the cake.  The wonderfully light, not at all too sugary cake.  The cake is a little pricey, but the $80 also included some of those steamed buns he loves so much.  The cake is usually ready with in a few hours.  There are several flavors, though we usually get the white cake with white frosting topped with peaches, kiwi or other fresh and delicious fruit.  We have several family members who usually don't eat cake because the ones bought in stores are so fakey and loaded with extra sugar, especially the frosting.  These folks were eating 2nds and asking if there were extra to take home.  We have yet to introduce this cake to anyone who did not love it and marvel at how light and fluffy it was.  So good.  Definitely give it a try, well worth the price.

    Kastle's Kreations
Very yummy cupcakes. I have not placed a customized order with her but I understand she is very responsive. I have picked up cupcakes at her food truck where she and the cupcakes are top notch.

    Catered Blessings Dessert First
I have tried bakery items at different locations and for gluten free items these guys are the best I have found yet. I have yet to sample every item on their menu but I would love to attempt it.... Their cakes are not grainy or gritty or dry. Their brownie and cookie bars are moist without weird textures or strange aftertastes. Whatever they are doing they should definitely keep it up. I will go back there again. They have a red velvet selection that is calling my name.

    Wild Fork Catering
From the moment I contacted Jason at Wild Fork Catering and Dianne's Restaurant the experience was excellent. He worked with me throughout the entire process to produce the event I and my family had hoped for. The closed early, rearranged the dining area, hide the kitchen with a lovely floor to ceiling drape system and decorated. They helped me coordinate flowers and our open bar, accommodated our musical entertainment. I expected the food to be excellent from past experience, but they far out did themselves with beautifully presented buffet and dessert bar. The service was fantastic. We enjoyed a beautiful dinner, with white linens, real place settings and silver. It was the celebration that we had hoped for.
