    JCB Construction, Inc
JCB Construction provided labor for post earthquake repairs and kitchen remodel February 19-March 21, 2019. The owner, James, and son Ryan did an excellent job. Their work was meticulous, manner reassuring and workmanship exemplary. The project took longer than scheduled but we were not dissatisfied due to circumstances discussed below. We appreciate JCB Constructions job so much that we are having JCB remodel our master bath in April, 2019. Here is a detailed review. This job was our first major remodel. The 2018 quake caused structural damage to deck supports that were installed improperly when the home was constructed in 1982. We insisted upon municipal permits and inspections for the deck work. A guest bathroom downstairs needed total replacement of floors and shower surround with porcelain tile. Drywall cracks and compromised joints were concentrated downstairs. Drywall work was needed downstairs in two rooms and stairwell in addition to the bathroom. Since we were having these repaired, we decided to have an overdue remodel of the kitchen: modern cabinets installed, over-range microwave with vent through the ceiling, porcelain floors, new porcelain flooring and glass backsplash. We opted not to have minor drywall repairs done upstairs. With the exception of a subcontracted pile driver for deck supports, James and Ryan did all the skilled labor themselves. Their skill and attention to detail were evident throughout the job. We were asked, advised and included in many small decisions regarding details along the way. We attempted to have most materials, fixtures and connections on hand at the jobs start. We made some mistakes in choosing just the right stuff. James and Ryan were very patient in getting us the right stuff. Often the workers would insist on doing some detail work BETTER AND NICER than we expected. They were always right and the result more satisfactory than our way. James and Ryan are very skilled at all aspects of our project: demolition, drywall, plumbing, minor electrical, tile, cabinet installation, finish work and painting. The pile driver James hired for the deck was swift, professional and friendly. In the bidding process, James provided references who attested to skill in more extensive renovation projects. The project DID take longer than planned. Some of our mistakes in ordering supplies resulted in lost time. The granite install started a bit late and fabrication took a week. For a couple of days tile work was stalled waiting for the granite install. Rightly so, the tile installer worked these days at the next job. Workers were on site every day except these two days and weekends. We never felt like we were slighted to accommodate another job. Wisely, James planned a week between our job and the next scheduled job. James was very supportive in assuring us that the finished job would be worth minor delays and snags along the way, Cost listed below is for labor and supplies. We purchased cabinets, appliances, tile and fixtures ahead of time.

    A Plus Contractor
It went exactly as planned, on time, on budget and it looks Great! I am going to have him do more work for me very soon. Congratulations, youve just found the best Contractor in Anchorage. Yong is a true Professional and will complete your Project on time, on budget, and with the exceptional quality of work that you hoped for. He is not like the others I have come across, like the burnt out hippy (Cool story dude, but do you understand what I want you to do for me?) or the semi-retired military guys (I hope you were better at handling bombs and guns than you are at ladders and ceiling fans not kidding.) Read on for specifics about Yong and his Team. Yong was supposed to meet me at my Condo on a Wednesday at 3:30. He rang my door bell at precisely 3:30. Within 15 minutes he knew exactly what I wanted and left. I got his estimate a week later, I agreed to it that night, and he started the following day. Literally. Yongs estimate was accurate, complete, and competitive. He said the work would take 4 days. It took 4 days. Each night his workers would very neatly put away all of their tools and materials. They were always on time, polite yet personable, and in fact helped me decide on exactly what I wanted when it got down to the finer details. This Project went exactly as planned and desired, which if you have ever dealt with a Contractor in the past, you know that it never, ever goes as planned. I was so impressed with his work that I am having him do more work for me in the very near future. I strongly suggest that you contact him for your next Project. You can reach him at: apluscontractor1@hotmail.com, (907)240-1687

    Jensen Construction
Very prompt, courteous and professional. Arrived on time and completed each phase in the time he estimated, Kept me informed on what he was doing, any unanticipated problems he ran into and what was necessary to correct them. The repairs involved drywall repair, cabinet removal and minor electrical work. Area was cleaned up as he went along and at the end of the day. The job was completed to my satisfaction in a timely manner and at a reasonable price. I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone and I plan on hiring him again for other projects and repairs.

    Elite Drywall & Painting Services
Alex offered a bid but said he was unable to match texture used on ceiling. Since he seemed to have limited knowledge and was not able to perform a complete job I accepted a bit from another contractor. Also he promised a to have a bid by the weekend I finally called on Tuesday. It was at that time he admitted he was not able to do a complete job.

Went very well, Dave came out to the house and looked over the area. He contacted me as soon he was able to nail down a price on the glass to give me the estimate. The estimate was in my allotted budget so we agreed to have the work done. He then ordered the window and began work promptly once the glass was ready. He brought his son as a helper, they were efficient and thorough. The job was done right. Im certainly going to call them when I have work to be done in the future.

    Jensen Construction
Dave Jensen worked with us months in advance to understand what how we wanted the kitchen layout, cabinets and counter top design to be like. Dave always looks like he is thinking out loud (which he is), and that might make you think he is not listening. HE IS listening, and is very perceptive. This resulted in all kinds of mistake-avoidance that helped our project immensely, especially when we were working with the great cabinet guy (Matt Ess) at Builders Millwork Supply. When the project actually began, Dave and David were extremely professional, efficient, and effective. They also work well with their go-to electrician, who consults - then David does the work. They worked with a plumber who consulted - then David did most of that work. Every single aspect of the work Dave and David Jensen did was fantastic and perfect to the smallest detail. I can't wait to have them work on our home again.

It went great! We had this large fake stone fireplace against a wood paneled wall. Dave and his son did a beautiful job sheet rocking, texturizing and painting the wall, removing all the fake stone from the fireplace, and added a great looking mantel. We will definitely hire Dave again when we are able to do more house projects!

    Jensen Construction
I have a small alcove above our gas fireplace in the living room where the previous owners had a 73 pound, 42 inch TV professionally installed (or so I thought). When it came time to upgrade the TV, I discovered that there were no studs there and the TV was hanging from just reinforced drywall. Also, the area was poorly insulated and had no vapor barrier. I asked Dave and son to cut into the wall, install some studs for the TV mount to attach to, and improve the insulation/vapor barrier situation. They did an outstanding job of adding the studs, filling up the void with insulation, installing a vapor barrier, and even went above and beyond by redoing the electrical and HDMI boxes so that they could better seal those areas off with foam. Once finished, it looked much better than it originally had and after painting you couldn't tell anything had been done, plus it is now noticeably warmer there. I really appreciated their craftsmanship, attention to detail - especially when refinishing and retexturing the wall, and a strong desire for the finished product to be perfect. I will definitely be hiring Jensen Construction again!

    Acra Construction LLC
We had a great experience with Acra as the company worked with us on design, appropriate product selection, and execution of projects. The entire crew was professional, timely, and tidy. Any changes we requested changes through the construction process were done without problems. We love our new kitchen and bathrooms! Acra was great to work with and we will definitely hire the company for any future projects!
