Cabinet Making reviews in Anchorage

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • Things were done in a timely fashion for a reasonable price. Dave had to be creative as he was modifying someone else's sub-standard work. He did a nice job without tearing everything out and starting again. Was satisfied with that work, so asked that he build this little counter top desk in a small alcove in the basement. Another contractor had said he would do, but never showed up. I guessed it was not a big enough job. No problem for Dave. Got it done then came back to put another coat of finish on it because he wasn’t satisfied. My sense is that he has a real and personal appreciation for quality and workmanship.

  • We obtained bids from 2 other local businesses who ultimately could not deliver the design we wanted. Konstantin worked with us to design the exact configuration, door design and custom colour we dreamed of. He happily provided us sample doors before the main build and was a pro helping us dial in a colour that didn’t quite match our vision: his knowledge of how the colour and finishes changed with the sanding and glazing processes allowed him to modify the paint formula to obtain our perfect colour. WE LOVE OUR CABINETRY!!! He’s truly, a bespoke cabinetry artist!

  • I contacted Jim Burke of Crestone about making a small repair to the 2nd floor deck of my house. After checking more thoroughly it was found there were a number of boards with significant decay. Many of the boards were so bad, there was nothing to hold a screw or nail. The small repair I had in mind would have left the deck dangerous, still not meeting building codes, and would have staved off replacement by only a year or two. Steve, the project manager, made suggestions that resulted in a more through repair and when a glitch was discovered part way though, a modification was made that resulted in an even stronger better looking finished product. Over 30+ years I worked over-seeing a variety of contractors who did every imaginable aspect of construction and maintenance work on the large office building I managed. The scope of the projects varied from adding or removing a door or two to adding 5,000, 10,000, and 20,000 square foot, two story additions to the building. The Crestone workers were as good or better than any I worked with. The workers showed up promptly every day, stayed on the job, and completed it without delay. Once they worked all day in a driving rain. They stayed on the job continually and took only a short lunch break. The workers thoroughly cleaned up at the end of every day and hauled away debris. In recent years I have wondered how projects get completed as the new acceptable standard appears to be that workers talk and text on their cell phones throughout the workday and take frequent smoke breaks. I saw Crestone’s employees making or taking a phone call only once or twice during the 6 day period and never saw an employee smoking a cigarette. The Crestone labor rate is based on 100% productivity the entire work day without an inefficiency factor for cigarette breaks, talking and texting on cell phones, or breaking and wasting time talking among themselves. The deck looks better and is stronger than when it was originally built in 1991. It looks 100% better than my simple repair would have produced. The shaky, wobbly stairs and rail are now very solid. I highly recommend Creston General for any home or construction job and will call them first for any work I may need to have accomplished.

  • As always they were a joy to deal with, fast, and their work was flawless. As always their estimates were far below what I expected, or what others asked. And of course they saw a few things around the house in working that they just fixed on their own. I cannot begin to say how much I have come to value their work and our working relationship. These two are simply the best.

  • They had the job done so quickly (less than a week) and the price was incredibly reasonable. They were very nice to work with and I will definitely recommend them to anyone needing furniture repair.

  • Dave and his crew are very conscientious. Took extra steps to make sure job was done correctly, such as removing old flooring (3 layers of linoleum) and putting in new sub-floor in the bathroom and removing old flooring in the kitchen before laying the new linoleum.
Kitchen was completed in 4 days - and is absolutely beautiful.  I had a problem with the new ceiling fan, it shut off and wouldn't come back on.  He came out the same day that I called him to check out the problem.
I highly recommend Dave and his crew, and will call him again for any future work I might decide to do.  His prices are very reasonable and he gave me a full breakdown of what he was charging for.

  • It went very well. He had a long time because we were in no rush . The end product is an amazingly, beautiful bathroom vanity that I have wanted built for some time. No one was willing to take on this project due to it's tricky design. We met with the Wood Shop and communicated by e-mail with any questions. They drove to Anchorage, installed the piece and finished up additional tweaking that occurred.. We then asked for a matching mirror in birch which he did quickly and delivered to us again. The quality of the pieces are exceptional and the professionalism wonderful. If you are looking for an custom wood work this is the place to go.

  • Very well. We are very pleased with cabinet work. Chuck did a great job matching and blending wall texture. He also made a real effort to get stain to match our kitchen cabinets. He started about when he predicted and it took about the time he said. He updated us and answered questions as required.

  • Shortly after the cabinets were installed, we found one of the cabinets was defective. We photographed the defect and took a part that was defective to the owner of Cabinet Fever, Kurt Echols. I believe he said he would contact the factory about the problem. The cabinet has never been fixed. We have called, gone by his business, and talked to him at a home show here in Anchorage. He still has not responded. This week I sent him an e-mail, once again explaining the issues. I still have not received a response.
I'm now in the market to replace a bathroom cabinet that will require custom construction but I won't be going back to Cabinet Fever.I would not recommend them due to their lack of follow up and customer service.

Cabinet Fever's response is inaccurate. I NEVER agreed to install the part. It's more then just the part we brought to him. The photograph we gave him, shows the cabinet side is out of alignment. There is no logical reason I would repair something that is the responsibility of the supplier/installer.

  • I got an estimate from Jim at Crestone within a few days of talking over the project.  Once we gave them to OK to proceed, they completed the project a week ahead of schedule and under budget and all to my satisfaction.
