    Electronix Pros
It was $55.00 just for them to come get the tv and bring it back and 25 for them to have someone come out and help carry it in. I feel like the extra charges were not right and he had the tv for over a month. It was a very long process. I had to have Panasonic send him some panels and then he went on vacation for two weeks. We called finally to figure out what was going on and he finally came out. He was supposed to be here between 1-3 but he came after 3. Then he wouldn't plug in any of the other things and he just complained the entire time. I would not recommend him to anyone.

This was a warranty repair from Samsung. The service provider ordered the part from Samsung, set up the appointment date and time, called to confirm the appointment when they received the part from Samsung, arrived on time to do the repair, made the repair in about 30 minutes, cleaned up behind and made sure the TV worked as it should. The service technician, Mr. Austin, was very professional, courteous, and extremely competent. We could not be more pleased with the results.

The technician was knowledgable, efficient, and pleasant.  He patiently answered quesitons about how the tv worked, the pros and cons of fixing, versus purchasing a new one, and the difference between different kinds of tvs.  He made room in an already busy schedule to come out and finish the repair.  We were thoroughly impressed and would recommend this provider without any hesitation.

RCA (Thomson) 60 inch dlp hdtv, bought in 2004.
Eddie determined that the dm1 board, servicing all the composite,
component, and digital (dvi) inputs to the tv (all inputs except for the
2 antenna inputs) was bad.   So the direct tv satellite box could to be
connected to an rf modulator, converting the composite output from
the satellite box to antenna (coax) input to the tv.  That worked, but
the signal was then not hd.  He charged $ 75 for the service call.
2 days later he found that the part was no longer available anywhere, so the tv
could not  be repaired.  It could continue to be used in non hd mode.
Eddie appeared to be knowledgeable and professional.
He appears to do most of his work servicing products
that are still under warranty, for which there are still
    a supply of parts available.
Three months later the projection bulb (a $100 item) failed.
    I then replaced the tv.
I was happy that Eddie could come out and diagnose the problem,
without my having to take the tv to a shop.
I wasn't happy that an essential part was no longer available,
for a tv  that cost some $ 2800, that was less than 10 years old.
But I do not think that that was Eddie's fault.

I had them pick up the TV for service in their shop, since it would have been difficult for me to bring it in. They were prompt and called me before arriving.
They came to the house and disconnected the TV and took it to their store. Back in their shop, they assessed the problem, and then gave me an estimate for the repair. There was no pressure for me to authorize the repair. (I would have ended up paying $85 for the pick up and diagnosis.)
I was given a range of cost in the estimate. In the end, I paid about $20 more than the high estimate. (Tax?)
.They ordered the correct part, replaced the part, and returned the TV to my home within a week. At the agreed upon time they arrived and reinstalled the TV and made sure it was working before they left.

Called 2pm Mon. Given appt for next day between 12 and 2. Called at 11 and asked if OK to come early. Arrived, diagnosed and fixed problem.  Suggested  switch to HDMI connection cable to improve reception. Offered to return at no additional charge if we had any problem with hookup,

Based on previous Angie's List reviewers recommendations, I contacted A1 TV Service to repair my TV.  They returned my initial phone call within 30 minutes.  I explained the problem and was told they could to the work  so I made an appointment for the following day.  Their technician (Eddie) arrived, promptly, at the agreed upon time.  He was extremely professional and courteous and repaired my flat screen in no time at all and at the previously quoted price.  The only surprise I had was just how pleasant my whole experience with A1 TV Service had been - I strongly recommend.

I called A1 TV Service, left a message, my call was returned within 30 minutes.  When I explained the problem, the woman calling back told me by turning it on and off, I could be creating more problems. She scheduled me for the next available appointment which was only a day & a half later and gave me a 2 hr. window, 12:00-2:00 p.m. At 12:15, Eddie arrived and went right to work on the TV. I was glad it could be fixed on site and not taken in to a shop. He quickly assessed the problem, showed me what was wrong and gave me an estimate for the work. I approved it, he got some parts from his truck, came back and fixed the TV. He also explained why it didn't work and what he was doing to make certain it would work better.  Eddie put the TV back together, checked all the connections, made certain they were all working properly and was finished in an hour. The work is also guaranteed for 30 days. He was knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. We were comfortable having him in our home. Overall it was a good experience and nice to know there are still some people in the service industry who are professional. Unfortunately, they are few and far between nowadays.

When I plugged the set in, after connecting all the various cables the picture was the as good as the day the set was purchased.  The work was done in a professional manner and Discount TV has all my future business.  I highly recommend this company.

A-1 was very responsive to our request for information and service. They returned our calls promptly and set up an on site visit quickly.

The alternative solution that Eddie identifed avoided over $200 in repair costs while providing us, the customer, an acceptable solution with which to work. Our only cost was a standard service call fee.
