  • When I arrived at the office, I did not even sit down to read a magazine before being  called back. He looked at the tooth and said it was not as bad as it felt. He informed me completely as to what he would do on that visit. His office person had already called my insurance to get clearance on what I would need. I was so thankful because being a holiday weekend, I would have had unnecessary pain. He is without a doubt very knowledgeable and trustworthy. Hard to find that today in a world where dentists make more money than surgeons.

Provider name locked. -serif; background-color: #ffffff; text-align: left;">I was referred to Dr. Provider name locked. when I told my internist I was interested in decreasing my snoring. I got an appointment quickly. The office had asked me to bring in the results of a previous sleep study, which Dr. Provider name locked. looked at along with a dental X-Provider name locked. to determine if he could help me. He spoke with me at length about the treatment, his history, and how the appliance his office builds compares to CPAP machines (machines that help snorers by maintaining continuous positive air pressure in the airway). I never felt rushed or pressured.

The assistant took molds of my teeth that day. I came back a week or two later to get fitted for the appliance itself, which they had built in the meantime. The appliance is basically two plastic retainers, one upper and one lower. They are not attached; your jaw is held forward by small pegs that engage when you close your mouth. You can talk and drink while wearing it. There was a small fitting problem with the upper retainer on the day I arrived. Dr Provider name locked. , who was attending this time, told me that since the technician was in the office that day, she wanted to get the top part remade instead of sending me away for another week. I appreciated that.

With everything in place, I went home for the trial. The results were very good. My wife says that instead of literally rattling the pictures on the walls with my snoring, I go most nights without snoring at all. Occasionally, I will still have nights where I snore, but much more lightly than before. When we travel as a family now, I no longer keep everyone else in the hotel room awake. That's a big deal. Personally, I felt much more rested after I started wearing the appliance.

My father also has a mild sleep apnea, like me, but he uses a CPAP. I can tell you that traveling with a 3-ounce pair of retainers, in a container that fits in your pocket, is a lot easier than hauling around even a small CPAP machine. My dad's doctor (in another state) had also tried an appliance, but apparently it was much bulkier, of thicker, softer plastic, and it locked his whole jaw together. Dr. Provider name locked. ' design is much superior in my Provider name locked. 's opinion.

I was lucky, in that my insurance covered basically everything. If insurance doesn't cover this, it could be pricey–maybe a few hundred dollars.

I went back after a few months to have a followup sleep study done. The office sent me home with a little device called a Watch-PAT, which does most of the work of a full-on, in-lab sleep study, but in your own bed at home. The results of this study confirmed my family's experience. If you want to lick snoring, I suggest stopping by Dr. Provider name locked. ' office and seeing if he can help you like he did me.

  • The work on the partial has gone on for several months and was for a fixed price. But Dr. Provider name locked. has taken infinite care and time in order to get it exactly right. This is in the same manner he has handled all other procedures for me and other members of my family for the past several years. He and everyone in the office is caring and professional. By far the best dentist experiences I've ever had!
