Home Security System reviews in Tucson

  • I have had Cox home security for 4+ years. The first three were great. They then came to give me an updated control panel and it was nothing but problems from that point on. My alarm goes off all the time to the point that it is useless. Evidently the sensors on my patio door are so sensitive that they go off with the change of temperature. If you have anything but a wood door you are in trouble. And the sensors keeps trying to connect and the batteries keep going dead which puts the system down. The service people have come out and were very pleasant and have in their words "tried everything they can try". Replacing the door is not in my budget right now so I have finally decided that if they can't provide the service then why pay for it. This is were the terrible customer service starts. Mind you that I have Cox TV, internet and phone too and have been a Cox customer for 17+ years. The first 2 times I called I got someone and when I told them I want to disconnect my service because they can't get it to work they hung up on me. Both times!!! I called a third time and finally talked with someone telling them my problem with the alarm system and that the service technician says there is nothing else they can do. I then proceeded to say I would keep it if it worked but because it doesn't I have no choice to cancel the service. She was very rude. She finally said she would cancel the service. She asked to put me on hold and I said that was fine but please don't disconnect me again be that has been done twice already. She said "You don't have to worry about that again since you are disconnecting". She came back and said it was disconnected as of that day. I asked if I have to return the equipment and she stated "no, you can keep it.". The interesting thing is that on May 1st I had a service technician at you house for an upgrade to my DVR service. I was chatting with him when he was working and told him I disconnected the home security because they couldn't get it to work. He saw the equipment was still there and asked if I wanted him to take it. I stated that they said they didn't want it. He told me that they say that but if they ask for it in a month or so and I can't return it they will charge me for the unit and it costs like $300+ . You have to keep it. He also told me when he was looking at my service that they did not disconnect it as of the date I called like she told me but a date in the future. I had him take the equipment and turn it in for me with the old equipment he was taking for the tv. I do not tolerate this dishonesty very well and the home security division does not embrace the good cox customer service provided with the tv, internet, phone division. I caution anyone thinking of using cox home security. They are dishonest and if you have a problem don't expect good customer service. I am very disappointed and would NEVER consider taking them again.

  • It went great until service failed. Now can't get anyone to service for 4 weeks. I would not do business with ADT in Tucson!!!!!!!!

They said they could schedule emergency service which would take 10 days. Lots of security choices out there,

  • On July 7, I signed up for service with Frontpoint due to a deal I found on Angie's list: "$199 for a Frontpoint Ultimate Home Security Package and $100 Amazon Gift Card".  The Amazon gift card was to be emailed to me after my thirty day trial period.
On August 7, I emailed Frontpoint to inquire about the status of hte Amazon gift card and I received an email stating that I should expect it via email in "2-4 weeks" and to contact Frontpoint if I hadn't received it by the end of August.
Today (Sept. 10), with still no Amazon voucher in my email, I contacted Frontpoint and was told that it is up to Amazon to send me this voucher, and that they reportedly have been trying to contact Amazon about this.
Good thing first: The cust svc rep said he'd reimburse me for one month of service for all this trouble. (I have all the names of who I spoke to/emailed but I don't want to point fingers so I'm keeping that info out of this).
Bad: It appears that this supposed Amazon $100 gift card is false advertising to get us to sign up. I'm not destitute and in need of the giftcard but it is not ethical to advertise something that is not true. Frontpoint should not advertise something that they cannot guarantee.  It makes me wonder if I can trust the security protection offered by Frontpoint.

  • I just call a 1-800 number if I have any issues. I've used them for 15 years. They're reliable, and they do their job, if something goes wrong they call me. So far it's been explainable, no break ins or anything.

  • System came in the mail quickly. It was very easy to install and took me less than one hour to complete. When I called the company to activate the system the person I talked to spoke clear English and was very helpful. Overall experience so far has been great.

  • They have not been responsive. We are very displeased with the service. We are continued to be displeased with the product that we are going to contract for several years, it was stuck. I would never use them again. I have used ADT other properties and I have never ever had a problem here in Tucson every other minute there has been a problem with their system.

  • Delivery took longer than I expected to receive my product. Product set-up is done on your own and I think they could provide a little more detail about set up on their website and brochures. Every call I've made to them has been handled with the most upmost professionalism and handled promptly. System was just installed as well, so we will see how the next three years with them go. So far, it's been a good experience.

  • It went fine. They just send it in the mail you install it yourself. It was straightforward to install it. I called them once for something, but forgot what it was, I had a question about how close things could be when you install the door, sensors. It was cheaper than other service and you don't have to internet in their system and in lot of other systems it do. It is all wireless, but you plug in the main unit with power. It works on wireless like a cell phone and you don't need internet that is better. They are professional. I would use them in different house too.

  • Included everything I needed to install the system myself. Paid for the upgraded monitoring service so I can control it from my smartphone. Simple interface for arming and disarming, as well as viewing events. Online interface is easy to use for configuring your system and setting parameters for your monitoring service.
