  • My brother suffered brain damage a couple years ago. I spoke with My House last year about hiring someone I know as an in-home care provider during the day while I work as this would be sponsored and paid for via ACCHHS. Last year they gave me an hourly salary of $9.50 per hour.
    I spoke to them last month as the release date for my brother is next month....and they told me what all I needed to have the individual do and what benefits they did and did not provide. I also called other facilities to get the same information. My House told me the starting salary is $10 per hour. I even questioned that because the other providers pay between $9-9.50 per hour. They do not provide benefits but offered a little higher salary. Little did I know they were lying to me.
    The person has been working with them for a week now with the application, certifications, etc....and today needed an additional application sent over as she messed up the one she had. They acted like they've never talked with her before and then said the salary was only $8.50. I called and spoke with Amelia....she really wasn't friendly and just said.....nope the salary is $8.50. I explained everything to her and told her I documented when I've called previously and she really said NOTHING.
    I will go to one of the other providers to hire someone to care for my brother.

  • They were supposed to spend 45 minutes a day with her and make sure she is taking her medication. I was very dissatisfied with them. They hardly spent any time with her. They would bring her medication in a little container and sometimes they just left it at her door. They didn't make sure that she was taking it.

  • This is a repeated problem with this agency. At the last minute, they call you and cancel the promised help with no alternative. This happened to me yesterday when I was out of town. They called me and told me that the scheduled caregiver canceled for today and there was no replacement. This is for my parents, both in their 90s, one with dementia and one with a recent stroke. And I was out of town. I luckily found someone to come in for added cost. I do not feel that is a company I will ever do business with again even if they gave me free help. I do not recommend this for any family of a senior citizen if they want consistent care. I do admit some of the caregivers were excellent individuals.

  • There was always someone there, if someone is sick they are able to get somebody to fill in. Some of the people that they sent were not terribly qualified. They need to interview the people that they send to make sure that they know their job.

  • I would class them as and quot;Aand quot;. My wife is happy which makes me happy. We went to other providers and she didn't like them. Price seems to be pretty in line with everybody else. 20 dollars an hour for weekdays and 21 dollars for weekends. For professionalism they are a little low. They caregivers they have are good. The billing is terrible. I wouldn't use them again.

  • I haven't used them, but I have friends who have used them, and they seem to be very caring and knowledgeable. They have a good heart for seniors. They know what they are doing, and they have consistency. A lot of places don't have consistency, meaning that if someone is used to using one of their providers, they will change them in the middle, and it is very disconcerting to seniors to have that change when they are used to somebody and trust somebody. They come weekly, and help them bathe and that type of thing. Their consistency is one of the top things to rate them. I have never been to their office, it is all done over the phone. They come out to your home, and evaluate you, then sign up for the service. I would definitely use them in the future.

  • Visiting Angels are doing a good job under the circumstance. It's not easy dealing with the elderly. They keep in communication with my husband when there's a problem. When someone can't show up, they take care of it. They don't bother him. It's really nice to have in a service to do that. My husband doesn't have to worry about coverage. There's always going to be someone there to watch his father.

  • They set it up when I was supposed to leave the hospital. They were responsive when we called to set it up. They are excellent. They have a close relationship with my doctor and he will only use them. They used my environment for the rehab.

  • They were very good. Our experience with them was great. They were very nice and very kind people. They would come in two mornings a week and help my mom out with whatever she needed. It wasn't not actually medical only, but they also helped with housework.

  • While visiting Tucson last Easter, I observed the type of care Homewatch Caregivers of Tucson provides.  My uncle accidently toppled into the bathtub one evening about 10:30 p.m.  Because of his age and infirmity, he was unable to get up himself.  Homewatch Caregivers had equipped Uncle with a Help-I've-fallen-and-I-can't-get-up machine which he used to summon assistance.  In the absence of family in Tucson, Homewatch Caregivers was the contact.   Someone arrived within 10 minutes to help Uncle to his feet, check for injuries, and generally assess his condition.   I was unaware anything had happened until I heard voices in the living room and came out of my bedroom to investigate.   I was relieved to have someone with more knowledge than me make the assessment!
