Tire Buying And Repair reviews in Tampa

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • We took the truck in first and they put a set of tires on for very reasonable price. When they went to change the brakes they notified us that there was no need since 50% of the pad was still left. Then we took in the car just for an inspection of brakes and tires. They told us the same thing about the brakes & said all that was needed was a rotation on the tires since they were still in good shape. And they gave us a break on the price for the second vehicle (no charge). They are very honest people & they are reasonable with prices. We will be back.

  • Called and was scheduled an appt the very next day. Convenient confirmations and communication via text. Let me know when they were on the way and arrived promptly within the 2 hour window. Came straight to my home, very convenient. Very professional and replaced a tire with rims within 20 mins. Would highly recommend to anyone!

  • I usually never write reviews unless they are good but feel compelled to do so to warn people about All Repair locations referred to in this review. Please, please beware. Over the past 3 years I have purchased new sets of tires for both my vehicles with road hazards. A good customer right? Not so.... I had my oil changed right before Christmas weekend. On the way to the movies getting on the highway I looked back in my rear view mirror and a huge cloud of smoke with my dash warning light for oil pressure went off. I pulled over and when the tow truck came (Missed the movie with my daughter) he said "you are not going to believe this" My Oil filter was TOTALLY gone!! Olin Mott decided not to open on that Saturday before Christmas even though it is their posted normal hours. On that Monday I called and explained the situation and they changed my oil and said they cleaned under my car which continued to smell like oil the next several weeks. I was referred to the main office on Hillsborough and was told that I would have only 30 days to see if this issue did any damage to my engine and would give me a FREE OIL CHANGE. How nice of them. I was also told that is ALL they could do. Sorry about your luck is basically what I was told. On the 37th day I had some issues with oil pressure and decided to take it to my real mechanic to get it looked at since I was told they would not warranty it past 30 days, To be fair I did have a slight rear seal leak which was not a major issue and unrelated to the oil pump. The main problem was my oil pump (Which is nothing but gears and rarely breaks with normal use) needed to be replaced which brought back the oil pressure to normal. Since I had some other things done to the vehicle I asked my mechanic to just put on a document what caused the Oil pressure issue and the only major event or issue I had recently with my car was the Oil filter blowing off 37 days ago. Up to that point no issues with my car. I shared this with the supervisor at the Hillsborough location and finally got the decision maker and shared my story. He was quick to thank me for being a good customer and said he would do the research and get back with me. He asked me to send a copy of the original document which I did with a copy of my visa receipt so he could see that I actually had to do these repairs and paid for them. Well he got back with me in writing where I had to sign for the document. He stated that because I did not bring the vehicle to their store (They said they would only warranty up to 30 days.) Which I have 2 friends that are mechanics and they both said I could have issues up to 6 months and not to sign anything. They would not help with ANY OF THE COST to fix it. I would have been happy with some kind of partial gesture since I had spent over $2,500 in tires there over the past 3 years!!!! I was supposedly a great customer. In addition I was threatened in the letter because I had my mechanic write up a separate bill showing them what the issue with the oil pump and labor keeping it separate just for what that fix would cost trying to do the right thing and not include other items I had done that were unrelated. (4 tire sensors,) As you can see I am a little upset with the way I was treated so instead of hiring a lawyer I have decided to post this detail review in the court of public opinion. Please stay away from these repair shops. I do want to say that the manager at the temple terrace location was very nice and helpful and tried to help me. Even accepted responsibility for the issue but when it reached upper management it fell on deaf ears. I have been in this community for 25 years and have never been treated this way by a business. Because I am an active member in the community and know several people I wanted to make sure that none of my friends, acquaintances or anyone else falls prey to this business.

  • I buy my tires here and I buy expensive tires. I went here and I said I want my tires rotated. They would not rotate the tires because they said I need new tires. I went to another provider and he said I did not need new tires. I called Richard Mott and told them that they wouldn't rotate my tires and said that I need new tires. He said they have been having problems at this location and they need to get new people. They are working on replacing them. Whenever I need a tire repaired I have my roadside assistance provider put my donut on and I go have Olin Mott fix my tire. I just had a flat tire last week and I called my roadside assistance provider to put the donut on. They said they could not put the donut on because there is a big chunk ripped out of it. It wouldn't hold air. The last people to touch that donut were the Olin Mott guys and now there is a baseball size hole in it. I think these people did something to my donut. Mr Mott really wouldn't care. Mr Mott knows what they are doing at this location and he says they are having trouble with them.

  • I've been using them for many years. They got it done quickly. They drive you to the house and then pick you back up. They are very professional. It's convenient for me. They have been there through 7 of my cars.

  • I've always and only had positive experiences with the folks at Olin Mott. The work has always been performed quickly and perfectly, and never have I felt condescended to or mistreated. I also appreciate that this same friendly, professional, knowledgeable service is not exceptional but rather the rule...the norm... Ed Chancey has typically been my service manager--he has been outstanding in his sharing of information and guidance through the best tire and other vehicle maintenance and repair decisions...Kevin and Cody and the excellent lady with whom I generally seal the deal (and truly everyone who works there) really exemplify the best in auto service and customer service. I highly recommend these folks.

  • Just did business with these guys this morning and couldn't be happier. He pulled right up to the house, patched a tire and aired up all tires for a great price. Very friendly and easy to coordinate with. Very highly recommended and will use again if the option is available.

  • I recently had a good experience with Lou's auto repair on Waters Avenue in Tampa.  He's gotten awards from the mechanics community.   He's really good.  I had one blow-out, and another tire he discovered a nail in, it was losing air too and I didn't have a spare.   He replaced three tires and a rim for me.  I am a Triple A member; I have been for a lot of years, ever since I've owned a car. I'm one of their premier plus members, so at the auto shop and things like that, I get Triple A discounts.  I'm thinking of making Lou's Auto Repair my mechanic to go to because they do great - they do just about all of it.  I'm going to be needing brakes taken care of and some fuses - checking the fuse boxes - I'm going to need that taken care of.  I need a mechanic that I can trust.  He was really good; he went out and looked for the right tires.  See, I have a former cop car so I need specific tires and a specific rim and specific parts for it.  So he found the tires for me and got them at a reasonable price and the rim, too.  He was the closest mechanic to my home.

  • I buy tired there. Sometimes I have more involved things. I have a car and I have had it for 20 years and it's in good shape. I don't want to get another one because I really like this one. They keep it running. I have to take it in to get the tinting changed, but that's about it. They also drive me home and pick me up. They're very accommodating. I like the idea of not sitting in a waiting room all day long. Some of the big dealers will drive you home in the morning, but they won't pick you up. Which isn't much help. But these people will drive you home and pick you up after the car is done.

  • It took much longer than usual, other than that they did very well. The car was neat and returned washed. There could have been better communication. The waiting area was nice. It took an hour and a half.
