Recent Review: Our experience with Ridgetop Roofing was a good one. Due to hail damage in the area, we had our entire roof redone with asphalt shingles. Ridgetop was in the middle of the pack in terms of their proposal price, but since our insurance company was covering most of it, we weren't that concerned about price. The rep we worked with was very professional, considerate, and helpful in terms of explaining and managing the process. He explained our roof would be a one-day project, given they use a large crew to "get in and get out" as quickly as possible. He was true to his word, the crew did get the old shingles torn off and the new roof on in the same day, and so far so good in terms of quality of work. No leaks, no problems, and neighbors have commented on how nice the roof looks. Cleaned up very nicely, did not find many nails or anything laying around the house (had heard from others this could be a problem). Rep did inspect the following day, and extra materials were also picked up and hauled away the following day. The only issue (and it was probably not so major) is that the crew was very "loud" when working on the roof, not in terms of airguns and pounding, but in terms of yelling, laughing, even some swearing. But I'm sure that's not a big deal to many, it was just that I was working at home that day and heard everything. Overall, very happy with the company and job, and would recommend them to others looking for roofing work done on their home.

Recent Review: I bought this house in August of 2009. I travel extensively for work and also own another home in another state and was unable to be present when the work was completed. I needed to hire someone I felt I could trust to get the job done before winter came. My Realtor recommended Scott Marquis Construction so I contacted him to request a bid for replacing my roof and damaged front entry door. The chimney also needed to be replaced or removed and since the water heater also needed to be replaced, I opted to remove the chimney and install a power vented water heater instead of fixing the chimney. The bid I received seemed fair so I agreed to allow Scott to proceed with the work. I trusted Scott to select the new shingles and color and paid him half of the total cost for the job in advance. I was very pleased when I returned a few weeks later and saw the finished job. The roof looks fantastic and Scott even replaced a couple of rotted boards at no additional charge. After the roof work was completed, someone broke the window in the kitchen door, so I had Scott replace the remaining three exterior doors. I paid him in advance and told him he could do the work as his schedule permitted because I would not be returning again for a couple of months. When I returned, the doors were all installed and trimmed as promised with new lock sets installed. Normally, I would never pay a contractor in advance or allow them to do work when I was not present. However, Scott came highly recommended so I took a leap of faith and was not disappointed. Scott lived up to his reputation for being honest and reliable. I would hire him again in the future and will be calling him for a bid when I decide to have interior remodeling work and new siding installed in the future.

Recent Review: I have a 105-year old house with a worn back roof that needed replacement. Three other companies had come and bid the project, all from the ground. Todd drove out, looked in the attic, climbed the roof, measured by hand (other companies had overbid the project by up to 4 squares) and showed me the number of layers of material (3-5 layers of shingles plus cedar shakes, other companies bid based on removal of two layers total with unspecified extra charges for extra layers). The bid from Skyline was the most thorough, honest appraisal of the situation with no hidden fees (total costs were slightly higher than original estimate due to rotten wood found after tear-off. Each time Todd invited me to come up and see the area with him that needed replacement and approve the work, and he always came in under the estimate for the replacement cost). He also provided photos and references for other roofing projects he has done. The work was done very professionally, they cleaned up thoroughly every evening. The work was top-notch, looks great, and he even fixed up a broken corner of my vinyl siding since he had the tools along and it only took a minute. He also found a carpenter ant infestation in the rafters of one of the flat roofs and cleaned it out, as well. At one point they were walking a flat roof during tear-off and a foot went through some rotten wood, damaging the plaster ceiling below, I am currently getting estimates for the repair which Todd said he would cover with no hesitation. He was truly concerned with improving my house, not just completing a sale. I haven't found many businesses with such a strong ethic for building trust and exceeding expectations, I heartily recommend Skyline.

Very satisfied with the quality and professionalism. Larry Gebhart came out to give the estimate, took the time to explain the process and the pros and cons of materials and generally came off as an honest, professional contractor. This was not the lowest bid but when comparing the warranties and materials with the other bids, Ridge Top was by far the best value for the money. Crew finished a 26 square hip roof in about 5 hours, was like watching a ballet. Long story short - Larry came out when he said he would, crew showed up when he said they would, cost was what he said it would be, finished product looked fantastic. Great job, home run in the world of contractors.
