Recent Review: We recently had installed a walk-in shower with a curved shower curtain rod, hand-held shower head, and a handrail due to mobility issues from young onset Parkinson's Disease. From the start Mad City was easy and helpful to work with. The salesman who came to our house was fantastic to work with. He was conscientious and helpful in creating a shower system that meets our needs and works into our budget. The products they sell are high quality, for example the shower walls and floor all have microban in the plastic, which stops microorganisms from multiplying on the surface of the walls and floor of the shower. The floor of the shower is reinforced so there is no bounce when moving around in the shower. Almost every aspect of the shower can be customized, the colors of the walls and floor. The walls also come with custom embossed design or print design. Mad City also has a fantastic warranty for the product and installation. Once the custom shower came in Mad City was able to schedule installation within a week. On installation day only one guy came which made me a little nervous that the job would not get done in 8 hours. But the entire job was done in about 6 hours. He was very polite, professional and hard working. He kept his work space and path through the house clean and organized and when it came to installing the shower curtain rod, handrail and four corner shelves I got to pick exactly the height and location. The walls go floor to ceiling which gives it a nice seamless look and you don't have to worry about mold on the drywall above the standard shower walls. There are only a few things I wish were a little different. I thought the handrail would be one piece but it has end caps and the edges are a little sharp and leaves a gap where water could settle in. I also thought the shower handle would sit closer to the wall, and I thought the drain cover would sit flush to the floor of the shower. It is a metal plate and have caught my toe in the drain indentation which was a little startling. These are all things that I thought would be different but I can live with. Overall Mad City is easy to work with and offer a great product. In a few years we will be getting a picture window replaced and the roof reshingled and already planning on using Mad City.

FHouse Doctors
My father who hired the work was at the time confined by his use of a walker and unable to walk around the house. Caulk was used in a manner not recommended on the labeling. Caulk was used as a fill between rotted sheathing around the windows. As result of the rotted wood the windows were displaced in their frames by 1/4 - 1/2 inch, and the frames of the windows were caulked to the window headers making it impossible to reposition the windows. Rather then providing the owner with the information rotting wood was found the person filled the voids left by the rotted wood in with caulk to a depth over the maximum recommended gap on the caulks labeling, and covered over the surface of the rotted wood with caulk to hide the damage. When my brother called the owner to get them to address the further problems caused by their repair the owner insisted the project was handled in a professional manner and refused to honor their "100% satisfaction guarantee". The job had to be completely redone. After removing the caulk House Doctors had applied the windows settled back into their frames properly so the window frames were flush with the inside wall surface. We had to dig out the combination of caulk and rotted wood found and replace part of the header with new wood and sheathed the area damaged by rot. There was still considerable moisture left in the wood so we left the space open to dry out. Once the wood had dried the rotten wood was replaced and the window frames were anchored to the new wood. New trim and siding panels replaced the rotted wood found; which House Doctors simply covered over with caulk, again, against the recommended use of the product labeling, and the repairs were properly primed caulked and painted using far less caulk. My father was an architect and built the home himself. We still have all the specifications from the building. House Doctors did not respect the house as my father the owner had and used methods I am sure would never be allowed on the owners own home. We had to redo the work out of respect for a uniquely designed home and the owner who designed and built it. Be careful when using House Doctors and make sure someone who is capable keeps an eye on the project. It might look OK on the surface but who knows what wasn't done that should have been. My father did sign off on the work, but did not see it personally because of his limited mobility. He signed off out of trust that the work was done professionally. When challenged about the quality of the job the owner of House Doctors said "that is the way the windows were before the job" but we have no documentation of that claim and the gap that existed between the window and its frame was simply unfinished and the worker he sent out simply missed caulking the last gap. We have photographs of the job after House Doctors said it was complete, the materials used were not the materials specified. We also have photos of the places were caulk was used to c**** against rotten wood found during the stages of deconstruction and subsequent reconstruction that demonstrates how materials were used against the manufactures recommendation for the use of  those products. There is no documentation the person doing the work for House Doctors shared any information regarding the rotted wood found while performing the job with the owner. House Doctors simply covered the wet and rotting wood over with caulk and said nothing about the significance of the rot found to the owner. $1700.00 dollars for 16 feet of brick molding and pounds of caulk and a job that simply had to be done over. Don't believe any of the advertising on House Doctors web site. They will do work in a manner they wouldn't on their own homes and there is no guarantee of any kind, of satisfaction or of quality, the company honors.
