Recent Review: Duke came out for the initial estimate. We discussed our existing exhaust fan which is mounted in the ceiling approximately a foot or so out from the range. Duke indicated that we would be able to use this existing ducting to install our new over-the-range hood. As requested by Bethke, we proceeded to have the electrical work for range hood hooked up. We also then purchased a range hood. Jason and John came out for the install and explained that it would not be possible to use the existing ducting because it would have required cutting through a floor joist based on their visual assessment of the ceiling.  It would also be necessary to cut large holes into the drywall soffit above the cabinets in order to put new ducting in place. Because we had already invested time and money into selecting the range hood and installing wiring, we moved forward with the installation.  Overall, we was very pleased with Jason and John's work - they were personable, thoughtful and professional. They even fixed a minor duct issue in our basement while they were there. However, we do wish we had gotten a more accurate estimate/review from Duke about the scope of the work required as it appeared to be an easily and quickly discovered issue for Jason and John. Though the added cost of fixing the drywall will not be significant, it is another contractor that we did not anticipate having to locate, vet and hire. Our current kitchen remodel is the result of a catastrophic water leak so we were less than thrilled to have created more work at the end of this large-scale, unanticipated project.

Recent Review: Arrived right on time.  Did a great job, very professional. Had to go get some parts from hardware store to install the new faucet correctly, which was fine. I appreciated it being done right. Very happy with the overall job. Would hire again.

Recent Review: I am very pleased with all the work that has been done. The window crank and shutters were installed right away. Mike suggested replacing the old pillars with treated wood and then "wrapping" them with cedar, this would be less expensive than full cedar posts. The posts were covered on all sides with 1" of cedar and moldings were put at the top and the bottom. They look great! Unfortunately they found that the octagon window had rotted and a new Anderson window was ordered. The cost of the window  was ~$600. It was installed 3 weeks later and looks great. The oak trim on the inside looks better than the original did. Sadly the OTR microwave did not get installed. It seems that space between the cabinets where the range hood currently is slightly smaller that 30" wide and the microwave would not fit without damage to and retrofitting the cabinets. I decided to pass on that one. Mike and his crew were very professional, timely and pleasant to work with. Will definitely recommend and rehire

Recent Review: Adam responded promptly to our request for an estimate, and was able to fit us into his schedule soon after we told him what we wanted. They spent a week working on about a dozen projects ranging from decking to fixing a leaky faucet. He and his crew (Pat and Jim) were very easy to work with - a good balance between consulting us about what we wanted and making some decisions on their own. They worked quickly and did neat and careful work. So far, very happy with the results, and would recommend highly.

Recent Review: I really don't know how to express how genuinely pleased we are with Andy's work.  We committed to this work in February and Andy was with us, every step of the way.  Over several months, he guided and assisted us in selecting the flooring material, the cabinets, countertops, and many others parts and materials for the new kitchen. We scheduled the work to start in late April, and the project was started on time, and completed on time.  The electrical work, the HVAC work was properly scheduled and completed right on time, so that the remodel work could continue, uninterrupted.  The thing that I liked most was Andy's attention to every small detail of the project, every step of the way.  It seemed that we talked just about everyday regarding the next days work and how it would be done and what materials were being used.  I liked being "in the loop" and I appreciated Andy's sincere desire to make the remodel 100% perfect.  It goes without saying, Andy is a perfectionist and it shows in his work.  Good enough was never good enough.  Every part of the remodel was done to perfection. Andy and his primary crew (Sean and Sam) were very polite and respectful of  our home and our work schedules.  They started late, on occasion, since my wife works at night and sleeps in a little later than most.  They cleaned up the work area at the end of each day, and briefed us on the next days start time.  Sean and Sam are both also talented craftsman. We were very comfortable with Andy, Sean, and Sam and gave them the run of the house on many days and trusted them completely.  We were rewarded with a dream kitchen at a fair price! If you are looking to hire an experienced, competent  and accomplished remodeler/craftsman, Andy Hino and AHRemodeling should be your first choice.  When we committed to Andy and AH Remodeling, we talked with him and the other two top rated Kitchen Remodelers on AngiesList, and we hired AH Remodeling.  The other two kitchen remodelers did not impress us.

I want to love Bethke but every time I have used them, I've run into problems.  I've found it difficult to schedule and book my services (I understand that my job had less priority than houses that did not have heat...it's cold outside!).  I had requested a date on the calendar and after two weeks back of not hearing anything from them, I had to make a follow-up phone call.   The service providers are great.  I've liked every person who has come to my home.  The people on the phone are great - they answer the phones promptly and provide great service. But whenever Bethke comes, they leave the house messy.  I either need to wash the wood floors because they're tracking dirt in/out of the house, or I need to vacuum due to debris/insulation/etc.  In this particular case, I needed to do both.  It's not an easy job - entering someone's home and providing a service, and I understand that.  However, out of respect for the home and the homeowner, I think Bethke should always be wearing shoe covers when entering a home and vacuuming up after themselves. They provide quality service, so I will continue to use them in the future.

The job was complex as it involved taking apart an oversize range hood and rebuilding the cabinets around and over it so that a new standard sized range hood would fit.  Patrick took his time to figure out the problems, worked stage by stage, and improvised so as to make all the unrelated parts work.  The finished job was perfect, you couldn't tell that the cabinets had been taken out, resized, and replaced.  Through it all he was patient, humorous and informative.   And as usual, he didn't charge an arm and a leg.  I would always use him but he is so good that he is too popular and very hard to book.
