Business Description: We are a growing, local contractor with several field technicians, including several State Certified Master Electricians and Journeyman Electricians on staff at all times. We are a training organization and a member of Associated Builders and Contractors of Wisconsin. We are also a member of the BBB with an A+ rating. Our service area includes, but is not limited to Sauk, Columbia, Dane, northern Green, northern Rock and Western Iowa counties. We are pleased to provide service to Baraboo, Reedsburg, Portage, Lake Delton, Wisconsin Dells, Sauk City, Black Earth, Cross Plains, Spring Green, Mount Horeb, Verona, Fitchburg, Dodgeville, New Glarus, Monona, Madison, McFarland, Cottage Grove, Sun Prairie, DeForest and many surrounding communities. We provide free estimates upon request. Some work may allow for an estimate to be provided over the phone, but it is generally better for us to see the work that needs to be done in order to give an accurate estimate of the cost. We provide T&M services at a reduced rate for our Angie's List customers. Our first hour is billed at $99/hr, and time begins once we arrive at your home. We do not charge any additional fees or rates for travel time or trip charges within our service areas described above, however our first hour rate is also our minimum labor charge. After the first hour of work, we bill at a rate of $89/hr for work performed by each technician on site, and we bill out their time in 15 minute increments. One example would be; 2 technicians perform 1.5 hours of work at your home, for a total of 3 labor hours. You would be billed $99 for the first labor hour, then $89/e for the 2nd and 3rd labor hours. We are happy to provide references from past customers and contractors we work with. We perform most residential, commercial & industrial electrical services.

Recent Review: Warren H/C responded with a "can do" attitude to doing the work quickly.  They suggested easier ways to do the work than what I had envisioned.  The man who gave the estimate was prompt and courteous, and he listened to my concerns.  The person who did the work was also prompt and worked quickly.  The job was done well and within the estimate.

Recent Review: I was very impressed with Seasonal Survival. I wasn't home for the first appointment when he came, and he easily rescheduled without making a big fuss about it. For the second appointment, he came on time, did an extensive inspection and rebalanced all of my heating vents. I mentioned that my hot water heater seemed to require an increasingly higher termostate temperature and he even drained the rusty water in my hot water heater. Nice guy. Good prce using the Angie's List coupon. Will definitely have him back in the Spring to check my AC!

Recent Review: Found Mike through Angie's List discount coupon for attic insulation.  It took a while to get to my job, since he had other coupon customers. Mike suggested an energy audit first, which included a large city rebate.  Good idea, since pointed out where insulation was needed,  especially the garage wall next to the house.  He kept to his estimate.  He and his crew were on time, very competent, cleaned up after work each day, explained what they were doing, and answered all my questions.   Since I was planning to replace old, sagging basement tile ceiling, they tore it down and disposed of it, while getting at the sills and other parts that needed insulation.  To do this, they had to remove numerous shelved items in basement to do this.  Nothing was broken or harmed. They were very careful on every part of the job.  When I had a question near the end, Mike came out himself to explain, although I believe he explained before and with all the information, I must have forgot. Mike does other home jobs.  He also installed a gas line to the kitchen stove.  I will likely use his services for drywalling the basement ceiling.

Recent Review: The short answer is that Adam and Pat are excellent. The long answer is as follows: we needed our kitchen remodeled/repaired after water mitigation services left us with a gutted kitchen and at least a two month wait for repairs through the service. Fortunately, we found Adam! Adam's estimate was thorough and realistic, and he spotted things other contractors giving estimates didn't. As for the job itself, Adam is great about communication. He rolled with the punches throughout the job, and he did things the right way. Adam and Pat: -- removed the remaining cabinets in the kitchen -- discovered uneven floor joists causing a slanted floor -- removed three layers of vinyl and two layers of subfloor (our kitchen was completely open to the basement for a bit!) -- repaired the floor joists -- rebuilt the subfloor -- replaced the cabinets and rebuilt part of one cabinet -- laid floor tile -- hung drywall -- redid ceiling and wall insulation -- fixed electrical -- hung a new light -- moved and rebuilt a soffit -- installed a vintage cast-iron sink -- installed a dishwasher -- repaired some seriously wild plumbing from the previous owner -- installed a new faucet -- repaired heating vents -- replaced new baseboards, trim, etc -- tiled the backsplash -- painted Adam and Pat are great with kids and dogs, and their work is excellent. They do the job the right way. We'll be hiring them again for additional projects in the future.

Recent Review: Rick did a fantastic job from start to finish. He was very professional and gave an itemized estimate before beginning any work. I was able to make adjustments as needed throughout the remodel. I was kept informed about the work every step of the way and met with each individual sub-contractor that was arranged through Larson Builders. There was excellent attention to detail and the kind of results I was looking to achieve. Rick is respectful of your time, your budget and your home. My only hesitation in recommending him is that he may not be available when I need him for my next project!

ATime 2 Remodel LLC
Overall it went very well. The work stretched out longer than we expected because we encountered some problems with the subfloor, which required more work and thus more time and money. Time 2 Remodel was VERY accommodating of our desire to strip the wallpaper and do the painting ourselves, and we had adequate time to get those things done before the contractor and his subs came back. They also kept a good eye on the subcontractors and contacted us several times to see if the work was satisfactory and if the subs had worked for as many hours as they claimed.

ABARLOW BUILDERS INC
Barlow Builders/Brad Barlow was recommended to me by a trusted vendor after I'd expressed frustration with the bid process and cost associated with another firm (whose estimate turned out to be 3x the finished cost with Barlow). She advised that Brad was honest, trustworthy, pleasant to work with, and did quality work at reasonable cost. I found this to be true--and additionally, he would discuss different options and associated costs for my consideration along the way, mindful of the original estimate he provided. He was cautious to warn that until complete tear-out, he wouldn't be able to precisely know what issues might lie beneath--but always had an eye to cost efficiences while knowing I didn't want to sacrifice quality, still in keeping with my modest home.  Though a small shop, Brad was sufficiently timely for my purposes (I had a second bathroom to use). I provided a deposit late April, took about a month to choose and have ordered tile/grout/trim arrive, got past Memorial Day holiday, and he was able to start the project mid June. (He's since taken on an additional worker). He communicated regularly regarding timing updates and project status--and if I ever had a question or needed to reach him, he eithered answered his phone right away or called back within the same business day. His employee, Jim, was very meticulous, attentive to detail, and pleasant to deal with. The work site was cleaned up every day before they left. They essentially treated my home with the care they would their own. One day when I was delayed getting home, the temperature outside had heated up, and the AC came on, Jim was kind enough to make sure all my windows were closed before he left--a courtesy that reflects who they are and how they operate. Two things didn't work in their favor on the project, and yet they compensated fairly well. First, given that I wanted a decorative border with small insets, I should have employed a designer to create a detailed drawing to scale. Additionally, as the house was built in the 60's, there were a few "out of square" challenges. Both of these factors required in-process creativity on Brad's part which we negotiated to mutual satisfaction. With my own lessons learned from the project, I wouldn't hesitate to hire Barlow Builders again.

ALet Mikey Do It
Prompt response to email and phone calls Employed 2 friendly guys, who seemed to want to do quality work and cleaned up after themselves each day.  Total time for initial work--4 days Subcontracted to a windows guy for evaluation of a problem.  Subcontracted dry wall repair after replacement/removal of bathroom fans ? fantastic job.  Hard to tell the repair from the surrounding plaster ceiling.   Work pending: Identified mold in an approximately 6  foot area in basement sill boxes.   Identifying the source/reason requires accessing from the outside under an enclosed deck.  Mike suggested this be done in the spring since the winter weather is upon us.  Fix some sill insulation that has shrunk and spray remaining area after mold issue is resolved.  Discuss additional issues identified by Scott Sailor regarding indoor air exchange and sealing wall between house and garage. Overall, a good experience so far.   Kept me informed as to the progress of the work.  Employees and subcontractors were competent and trustworthy.    Follow up comments on 1/20/2014: Kitchen fan mounted in the attic stopped working during the extremely cold temperatures in mid December.  Mike promptly responded and replaced the fan.  Later, during another cold snap, fan stopped working again (froze up?).   Mike returned my phone call promptly and set up an appointment.  When Namio and Paul came to fix it, the fan was working.  Nevertheless,  Namio adjusted the venting to prevent condensation from reaching the fan itself.  The fan has been working since then. Also ,Mike to install a make-up air vent on the furnace ducts to ensure better air quality since the house is considerably tighter than before.   Overall, I am satisfied with the work and especially with the prompt follow up when issues occurred.  Mike and his employees are courteous, friendly, and seem dedicated to do the best job possible.
