Recent Review: We wrote up our ideas for completely rebuilding two bathrooms and updating the kitchen countertops and floor. We interviewed four top rated on Angie's list remodelers, and each had good suggestions for how the remodeling project should be done and their preferred materials (flooring and countertops) and fixtures (plumbing and electrical). After investigating the various suggestions, we finalized our request with detailed specifications for flooring, countertops, tub, shower, and additional plumbing and electrical work. Andy Hino's bid was not the least expensive, and we did not choose his preferences for about half the materials and fixtures, but it was clear that of the four Andy was the most straightforward and flexible. Andy Hino and his crew of Sam and Sean are first rate. All three were competent and careful; meticulous, considerate, and good communicators. They always asked: is this what you wanted, how do you want this done, is it OK if we change how we will do this? The care they took with the installation of the flooring, bathroom walls, and ceramic tile was truly impressive. The only disruption to living in our home was the two days when the kitchen sink, cooktop, and countertops were removed. Two days later we had full use of the kitchen. We were also very pleased with Andy's choice of subcontractors, including Stoppleworth Plumbing, Reeb's Electric, and Prestige Laminates. Our selection of Cambria quartz countertops was worth every penny We have lived with Andy's remodel of our home for more than one year, and we are happier with his work today then we were the day the A H Remodeling trailer left for the last time. Thank you Andy, Sam and Sean.

Randy was referred by a friend who needed handiwork done to get her house up and ready for sale. I called to get an estimate for the external painting and a few odds and ends. Randy was great! He showed up on time for every meeting and kept me apprised of his arduous hunt for matching vinyl siding (which was a tough job that he did complete). He has a great demeanor, likes pets and works quietly (when possible!). My husband works 3rd shift and never heard a thing. Highly recommend him, great value and workmanship.

Patrick is the BEST! When he came over for the initial estimate for our bathroom redo he was prompt and courteous, and he was supportive of us helping throughout the project. He was also sensitive to the fact that this is our only bathroom, and had solutions right away to deal with this throughout construction. (He set up a temporary shower over the drain in our basement, and replaced the toilet every evening when he was done working.) His price was reasonable, and I was very impressed with how willing he was to guide us through the process. We had a lot of questions on what types of products we needed and where we could get them, but Patrick responded quickly every time and helped us make sure we bought the correct things. We did demo on the bathroom, and then worked alongside him when possible. He taught us more than I can type here! How to cut tiles, how inserts are installed, how to level a floor... Overall his communication was great. He got back to us right away, every single time. At the end of the day he usually left us a note about how the work was going and any questions he had. He explained things thoroughly and always answered our questions (and I'm sure some of them were silly ones). His follow-through is excellent as well! We had an issue with a faulty tub faucet that leaked pretty badly, and Patrick made an extra trip over to investigate. He couldn't fix it, but he left us a temporary solution so we could bathe and wouldn't have to worry about leaks. Turns out it was a faulty tub faucet, so after the company sent us a new one Patrick came over and installed it. He was also here late another day helping us install a tricky frameless shower door- a VERY HEAVY frameless shower door.  As a person, Patrick is incredibly patient, funny, and kind. He didn't mind working with our puppy watching him from the kitchen and he didn't mind working with us on our first remodeling job. His background is really interesting too, how he became a handyman.  In the end, our bathroom turned out spectacular! It is so much better than the out-of-date 50's bathroom we had before. His work is so neat and clean- after enjoying it for months now I have yet to find a detail missed. It just has that solid, well-crafted feeling to it.  I would hire Patrick again for any job, he is the greatest.

The process began with Todd coming out to the house to meet with us and discuss what we had in mind, and what we wanted to spend. About a week later he came back with some fairly detailed construction drawings of what he thought we wanted, along with a detailed list of costs, including costs for options we'd discussed, eg. Sprucing up our kitchen cabinets, can lights and new exhaust fans in both bathrooms, and some additional tile work (tile floor and another row of tile in the tub/shower enclosure) in the master bath we'd had remodeled previously.   Over the course of the work, Todd scheduled all the materials deliveries and skilled tradespeople, and checked in regularly on the work. He uses very skilled and professional workers, including the plumber and tile installer who'd worked on out earlier master bath project, a very good framing carpenter and two trim carpenters, an electrician, drywall installer, painter, foam insulation crew, and a glass shower door installer, all of whom were also very good. The work involved all of these individuals showing up at the right times, and with the right materials available, and that scheduling went flawlessly. They were also each very good about cleaning up their worksites, and Todd came out and did a final cleanup of all remaining materials, that left everything spotless. He's also an exceptionally nice guy himself, and uses very nice workmen, so that even with the hassle and the mess over a couple of weeks, the process was actually sort of enjoyable. The bathroom and trim work was pretty straightforward, but the laundry room project incolved demolishing and rebuilding a covered porch on our deck, with some pretty creative plumbing as well, and left us with an addition that is at least as well built and insulated as our already well built house, and looks like it's a part of the original 17 year old structure. Our experience with Todd Seiler over a couple of projects now is that he's a very good remodeling planner and contractor generally, but he has particular skills in the little tweaks and overall quality that produce a very pleasing result, and doing so while delivering the absolute maximum value for the money. We always end up happy and surprised with what he can do with the money we have to spend

We were disgusted by the only full bath in our old house and wanted to have the tub and shower surround replaced with a shower and tile surround.  The bathroom window didn't open very easily, so we also wanted a fan installed to help with moisture. Additionally, we were befuddled by a tiny, dark room in the house that we couldn't figure out what to do with.  We decided to have a walkway put in the wall between that room and the living room as long as we wouldn't have to move anything major. After doing some searching and having a few contractors take a look at the projects, we decided to have Happy to Help Home Improvement work on the house.  Since we were planning some remodeling right away after buying the house, we were waiting to fully move in until the dust had settled on our projects.  Patrick was able to accommodate our project soon after we discussed it so that we wouldn't have to wait too long to move in.  We really appreciated this, as a living room with camp chairs for seating is comfortable for only so long. :) Patrick and Mick got to work right away, and we were excited that the opening between the living room and the formerly dark room could be as wide as we had hoped, and only a couple of electrical outlets needed to be moved.  The dark room was no longer dark!  The drywall work looks very nice, and the opening and trim around it look good too.  Patrick double- or triple-warned me about priming before painting, and I'm glad I took his advice, as it turned out great. Patrick and Mick worked on the bathroom next, starting with demolition of the existing shower area.  Some of the old laminate tile was damaged during the removal of the old shower.  We had been planning to replace the flooring as part of a later project, but Patrick was able to fit tiling the floor into the schedule for a slight bump to the project budget. During demolition of the bathroom, Patrick found that the floor was far from level, so he had to spend some extra time and materials on making the floor level for the new shower pan and tile floor.  We expected him to find all sorts of problems with a 100+-year-old house, but were pleasantly surprised that this was the only one. The work in the bathroom looks very nice.  We're not experts, but the shower pan seems to be installed nicely and the shower door is sealed and functions well.  The tile work around the shower and on the bathroom floor looks good too.  There are a few areas where the grout is a little uneven, but I tend to be really picky about that sort of thing and my husband probably hasn't noticed. ;) The total cost of the work was very close to the estimate Patrick provided before starting.  Any differences were attributed to changes we asked for, like skipping one portion of the project and adding another more costly task.  We paid for some supplies and the dumpster separately, totaling around $1600. Overall, we are very pleased with the work that Happy to Help did.  Best of all, the work was done within the time frame and budget estimated, with a whole lot of communication along the way.  This point alone differentiates Happy to Help from the rest.
