Homeworks Home Maintenance
Recent Review: Porch stairs leading to front door were definitely leaning to one side. Bud identified the problem - the stairs were not adequately secured to base - an accident waiting to happen. He showed us the problem and told us how he would repair it. The porch and stairs are now solid as a rock, He did a beautiful job on exterior painting as well. Bud also picked up and installed storm door we purchased - he did a great job on that as well. I am a repeat customer because Bud does things the right way. Thorough professional who takes pride in his work. I am learning he can do just about anything.

Recent Review: Rainbow Painting is perhaps the best contractor I've ever hired for anything: Excellent painters, excellent work ethic and most importantly, excellent people. They went above and beyond my expectations by tending to minor repairs & details that I hadn't even anticipated.

Recent Review: It was good. They did a great job, at an reasonable price. It took them a little bit longer, than it thought it would. He kind of figured it would be two to three weeks, but it took three to five weeks. He did all the windows, and it took longer to scrape and paint them. He quoted me the price, and I paid him the same price. Even though it took him a little longer.

TRAVIS BROTHER PAINTING
Recent Review: In October 2011, I contacted Terry Travis of Travis Bros Painting to do some exterior painting of shutters, trim and doors.  He did the work within the week.  The work was done quickly and I didn't see much prep work.  I spotted some missed areas of trim, which he fixed.  Then, a month later the paint on the metal garage door  began to peel.  By then it was too cold to paint, but I informed Mr. Travis of the situation and he said to call in the spring and he would redo it.  I then spent from April to August 2012 trying to get him to keep his word and stand behind his work.  Sometimes he denied doing the work.  Other times he would promise to come out the next day; I would rearrange my schedule only to realize he never intended to come from the beginning.  He was an accomplished liar. I couldn't believe he would choose this tactic and not make it right.  A good reputation didn't seem important to him.   If he thought I was just going to go away, he was mistaken.  I looked at that peeling door every day!   It wasn't until I reported him to Angie's List and the Better Business Bureau that he finally came out early one morning so he wouldn't have to face me and repainted the door.  I was relieved to have it over, however the morning he came the temperature was quite cool and I was afraid the same thing would happen again.  Sure enough.  About 3 weeks ago, I realized the paint was peeling again!  I don't understand why this should be happening to work done by a professional.  The ironic thing is that the garage door was done at his suggestion-it wasn't on my list.  I don't know if the paint he uses is inferior, or if he just doesn't know what he's doing.  I have left a message on his answering machine and we'll see what the spring brings...

TPC did a great job overall.  Ben came out and provided a very reasonable estimate and was very attentive to what we wanted. The weather did prevent the job from getting done right away, but as soon as they could the crew was out there and had the job completed in a day.

AHomeworks Home Maintenance
I am impressed with Homeworks A+ because the owner, Bud, is friendly, thorough, highly professional, and a perfectionist. Not only does he do the job right the first time, he attends to details and shows pride in his work. My house looks better now than it did when it was built 13 years. ago! Because of his years of experience, Bud is able to look the house over and explain what needs to be done. This was helpful to me since I haven't hired a painter before, and I wasn't sure what to ask for. When the job was finished, there wasn't anything for me to clean up- he left the site perfectly painted and completely clean. He came on time- he finished each facet of the job in good time- and if small things came up requiring extra attention, he took care of them without negotiating a new price. My house looks fantastic! I couldn't be happier, and I'm looking forward to having Bud start painting the interior of my house.

FEnrique Vargas Guzman
During the summer of 2013 I saw a beautifully painted home so I pulled over and got a business card from the contractors that were working on this house. The contractor said that he was very busy but to call his PM, Enrique in the spring of 2014. I called Enrique in the spring of 2014 and he never told me that he actually had quit working for his brother, the contractor that was working on the home that was being painted when I drove by.  He came over to pick up the down payment on May 13th, 2014 and that was the only time he actually scheduled a time to see me.  The company came on May 14th to start working on the home.  On the 15th, he cashed my check (I have the bank statement).  Enrique kept posing as the company that he was once affiliated with but wasn't affiliated with when I hired him.  They kept showing up sporadically until the 21st which was the day that I came home to oil-based primer on four window screens that now have to be replaced and a broken window on the back of the breezeway. They were also using an electric sander on 100 year old house and I couldn't believe it. The neighbors were complaining about him using the sander because of the lead in the dust. I haven't heard from them again and the job hasn't been completed.  He has been completely unresponsive. On June 17th, I emailed him another time and he replied to that email without ever following through with any of the promises he made for the damages as well as the replacement of my shutters.
