10/25/11: Purchased Angie's List deal from AAA Anderson's for $109. 11/21/11: I left message for Kim in the office re: snow & ice, etc. and whether they still plan to come. I received a call-back from Kim and reminded her about needing the taller ladder and younger crew. She said it wasn?t a problem and that most of the work was done from the inside unless there are heatilators. I responded that I thought we had heatilators. She said they didn?t need to reschedule. 11/21/11: 12:25pm ? Jason and another guy arrived and, after looking at conditions, including pitch of roof and ice/snow, requested that they reschedule. He was very apologetic ? to the point of saying he?d go up if I wanted him too. I assured him I didn?t want him to go up if he didn?t feel comfortable with it and that there was no urgency as far as we were concerned. He indicated that Kim said she would validate our coupon for as long as it took to get them out here. 12/1/11: Scheduled to come out 12/1/11 but Jason called to reschedule due to snow. Kim will call to reschedule. 12/9/11: Still no call from Kim so I called AAA; spoke w/John. Checked garage roof; north and south, still snow-covered. He says they will honor Angie?s list coupon until the job is done. Also said we can get a refund on the Angie?s list coupon if we want. He said to call when snow is off the roof and they?ll get Jason out to do the job. 12/13/11: Phone call John to let him know all snow is melted off the roof. He?ll send Jason out 12/14/11 after 3pm. 12/14/11: Phone call from Dan at AAA Anderson; too wet today so they?ll try to reschedule for Saturday. He?ll have Kim call to reschedule. Received phone call from John to rescheduled for 12/17/11 between 1-3. 12/19/2011: Phone call to Dan re: getting a refund for Angie?s list deal ($109). He had spoken w/John and John said they will issue a refund when he and Kim return from vacation (around Jan 3). When I asked, he said we don?t need to request a refund through Angie?s list ? that John/Kim will handle. Also told him that Jason had done his best to get the job done. 1/23/2012: Left voicemail at AAA regarding refund on Angie?s List Deal. Requested that they call to tell me the status of the refund. 1/24/12: When I received no call-back from 1/23/12 vmx, I called AAA again and spoke w/John. I asked about refund and explained that Dan had told me on Dec 19 that John and Kim would issue refund when they got back from vacation on Jan 3. John then said customers usually go through Angie?s list to get credit card refund but that he can give refund by check if I want. I told him I?d go through Angie?s list but if I have any problems I?ll give him a call back. I then checked Angie?s List to see what I needed to do to get refund and found they require an attempt at resolution w/the provider and if that doesn?t work, documentation must be submitted to Angie?s List for them to do anything. 1/24/12: I called John a second time and told him what I?d discovered. He said he would put check in the mail today and that he wanted to make it as easy as possible for me ? yeah, right. I don't recall the date, but Jason did make an attempt to clean the chimney but he was climbing on the roof, slipping around on the steeply pitched roof. I finally called it off because I was afraid for his safety. The refund finally came through but this was one of the most frustrating experience I've had and I would never use them for anything, chimney cleaning or appliance repair.
