Recent Review: They are excellent. They have it all. They have designers and they have a nursery and people that know all the plants and also people that do the pavers and the decking and that type of thing. They are just tops. They came and did a partial re-landscaping and design for the front of my home, my parent's home and redid the river rock and weed barrier for our back boulder area. They did it all in a day. I had the ideas for what I wanted to do. The designer totally got the concept that I needed and came up with a couple of designs. I didn't get charged for more than one design. They just worked another one up for no charge. So there was a second option. We just decided on it and then they scheduled. I actually started on it last year, but they had a salesperson that I was working with go to a different company. I just recontacted them at one of their winter shows this past year and was able to work with this new designer really well. They were able to take it from one job change to another, for this individual and have it scheduled and it went through like magic this spring. It was still for the same cost. They didn't alter cost or jack around with the cost. They were very good. They just kept things on an even keel for the customer as well as the designs and were able to transition seamlessly. They're good. They wanted to get it done in a day. They wanted to do a good job. When they were working on the back slope and realized it was going to take a little bit longer because it was a heavier workload, like more rock and stuff that needed to go in and out, they called some people from another site for the end of the day to just finish river rock and the weed barrier so they could finish by 7:00 that evening and everybody was on their way. They started at 7:00 in the morning and went home at 7:00 at night. For that much landscaping and that much work in the front area and then redoing weed barrier and river rock out in the back for a wall that was already bouldered up, that's a lot. They could have taken two days. They had the manpower. They have good people working for them, not just good designers. These guys are used to doing one site right after another. They do it daily. They are very accommodating and professional.

Recent Review: I contacted four contractors and Brad was the only one who returned my call for an estimate.  He came the same day to look at the property and provided a very reasonable price.  We had previously hired someone else to complete the job but that contractor abandoned the project half way through when they received payment.  Brad was a breath of fresh air after that experience.  He arrived on time and completed the work in a friendly and professional manner and even completed some tasks that were not part of the original bid.  He was easy to work with and charged by the hour.  The job was completed in less time than he anticipated saving us money.  I'll hire him again in the future.

Recent Review: We first contacted three people for bids and based on the quality of the bid we chose Hermann. What impressed us the most was that they were prompt in returning calls and also developed a plan that was more than the bare minimum we asked for - without being beyond our targeted budget. Drew was great at helping design the patio to be both functional and look like more than just a square brick patio, suggested several plants, and also suggested areas where we could save on costs. After signing the contract it took ~2-3 weeks for work to start and everything went smoothly. They did a great job and cleaned up the yard very well after all of the work. We've been happily enjoying our yard for the last month - worth every penny.

Recent Review: We are very happy with the results! Mark Munn and his team are great to work with, and executed the plan very well. We signed the contract with them in May to get on his schedule, but they booked quickly for the summer and couldn't get to us until August. I didn't hear much about when the work would start, and called him a few times over the summer to find out what the schedule looked like. It was tough to wait, but once they started the work, they finished within three days. While they were here, Mark did a nice job of talking with me about what they are working on and what I thought about placement of the bed lines and the new trees they planted. He was very easy to talk to and discuss ideas and any changes in the plan. Our yard looks a million times better, and it will last for a long time. Thank you Bioscapes!

Recent Review: Buyer beware! I would never use these guys again if my life depended on it. We purchased a spec-home from a builder in February of 2016 and Capitol was the company that the builder had already contracted to do the lawn. Since they were already doing the lawn, we asked them to come and give us an estimate for some minor landscaping. We ended up agreeing to have them do river rocks around the house, plant one tree, add three burning bushes and 5 roses. They were already, as part of the contract from the builder, edging with rock planting bed from the sidewalk to the retaining wall, lay top soil and seed and clean out the front rock planter. Per our builder, we were supposed to be at the top of their list in April or May, once they were able to do the work. We were having our driveway expanded as well, so they had to wait for that to be completed. I met with John on April 28th and had to email John 11 days later asking for the quote since I had not heard a peep from him. I sent the agreement signed on May 25. They did not start work until the end of June. They did not finish until July 14. They pulled the ONE person who was working on our house to help finish the parade of homes houses and lied to us as to why the lawn wasn’t being done that week. Our house sits on a .5 acre lot. The person who did the made a hole in the siding and covered it up with some scraps. I found it because I was walking around the house and the item covering the hole looked out of place. The scary mess up was when he hit our gas meter with the back hoe and it caused a gas leak. He never mentioned it to us, which is really frightening if something went wrong. We didn’t really even blame the worker so much. He was doing all of this work without a spotter and he was scared to tell the owners because of backlash and he was scarred to tell us because we would mention it to the owners. There was never any communication. But the most outrageous part of this company were the owners. They never laid black earth down before seeding. They told us that it was normal not to and they didn’t need to. We have more weeds in our rock edging than you can shake a stick at. If you scrape away the rocks, there is a ton of soil mixed in. They were fixing our flower bed in the front of the house and it was suggested by the landscaper to put in railway ties and move out the rocks. Not by us, but by their worker. We loved the idea and had them do it. We had so many issues with nobody showing up, that it was talked to on a number of occasions. At one point, the worker had called Tom and ask him a question, I can’t remember exactly what about, and with him on speaker phone, Tom stated that he “didn’t care what the F&%$ those people want.” The final straw was when Tom was supposed to come and meet with us to look over one side of the lawn that edges up to the neighbors. There was such a dramatic ledge at the edge that the builder stated that they needed to fix it before he paid. An appointment was set up and Tom failed to show up and even call. After that, we told them that they were no longer allowed on our property and that we would fix it ourselves, as we had done the grass. At the end of the day, they, Tom especially, were rude, unprofessional and delivered a less than mediocre product. We have had to reseed, weed constantly, and put in extra dirt to fill in the lawn so we don’t have a swamp. I recommend being totally cautious before hiring this company. I have all of the documentation to back all of these statements up as well.
