Recent Review: The experience with Frey Construction was phenomonal. Scott Frey was extremely accomodating to my situation. I first contacted them in October of 2012 to replace a roof on our condo building and Scott went above and beyond helping us 4 owners deal with insurance company and financial support. I also hired Frey to do personal work for me at the same condo, replacing decks, stairs to my unit and a new patio door. I was unable to be at my condo for I live in another area and Scott and his team were honest, on time and did quality work. They worked well with my current renter and were courteous to them. I would recommend Frey Construction to anyone who wants a honest, good work ethic contractor (and the price was very reasonable too). Thank you Scott, awesome work!!!

Recent Review: I was calling a few contractors and had some of them come out to give me bids on my home I just got a insurance check for storm damages from a year ago I was fighting over with my insurance company, I got to meet Tracy from TAK Remodeling I felt as if he was the man for the job he was easy to talk too, understanding of my needs and was very educated on what needs to be done. this guy and his hired man Brad did a roof and siding job first it looks beautiful its like a completely different looking home. they took my 750 sq ft basement that was just concrete walls and unfinished (basically a storage room) and turned it into a master piece of a man cave ive got my 60 inch flat screen ive wanted for the games and a awesome place to hang out and entertain friends and family. in turn our old front porch was falling apart and needed repaired they did a wonderful job on that as well these guys are top notch!!A+ ive never been so pleased with a contractor no other company will get my business TAK Remodeling you guys ROCK!!
Recent Review: The crew was friendly and professional. They did a thorough and expert job in matching the paint as well as replacing some rotted boards on the deck. I was very happy with the work that they did so had them do some work at a duplex that we own. I'm planning on having them fix our "new" deck in our new home next spring. It's hard to find professional handymen but this company fills the bill!!
It was a pleasure working with Dean. From the start, he was quick to respond to emails and phone calls. He was always on-time. He clearly explained my options in choosing materials and made clear at every step where I'd incur extra costs. The project was finished on-time and within our agreed upon budget. The new deck made me realize how flimsy, rotten, and nowhere up to code the old one was. Dean's work is SOLID. This new deck will be here for decades, and it looks great, to boot. I've had neighbors walk by and comment on what a great looking deck it is. I appreciate Dean's craftsmanship and would highly recommend him to any neighbor or friend.

ADean's Deck Construction
A tale of two decks... My old deck got amazingly hot in the summer sun and my wife and I were looking for an awning to shade our old deck. However, we couldn't find any that didn't look cheap. Then, we got the idea of adding a pergola to the existing deck, so we sent a message to Dean. The plan from the beginning was to add-on to the existing deck (rather than do a complete rebuild). However, upon further inspection, we found many flaws with the old deck. It wasn't square (off about 6"). Adding a structure with height (like a pergola) would exaggerate the "un-sqaureness". Second issue, the deck floor boards were laid with the wrong side down. (Yes, there is a right and wrong side). The supporting posts were placed in the concrete footings. This increases the speed of decay. The stairs were not up-to-code. They were slightly sloped and the bottom stair was taller than the rest. I'm pretty sure my previous builder didn't have the deck inspected after he was done. My new deck is made from premium lumber. Dean only uses the best material and it's pretty obvious when comparing it side-by-side. Dean is always available and quick to respond. He was a pleasure to work with. Dean always would say that if he won the lottery and didn't have to work, he'd still build decks. After working with him, I believe him. Dean really cares about making the customer happy. About half-way through the project, I asked him if I could make a change to the plans. Without too much trouble, Dean was able to accommodate the change. Finally, Dean is a perfectionist. He really takes his time and cares about the end result. I was enjoying the deck the other day and saw a subtle detail of the deck that captures Dean's perfectionism. (It's a little hard to explain) A railing support post was about 1/16" wider than the flooring that framed it. In order to ensure a perfect fit, Dean took 1/16" off of half of two end boards. This is one of those things that the consumer may have never even noticed, but Dean still took the time to do it right. I will be going to Dean for all my future deck-related projects. I can't recommend him enough!

ADean's Deck Construction
We were very happy with the new Azek deck built by Dean Anderson (Dean's Deck & Construction). We initially collected five bids, and while Dean was right in the middle in terms of total cost, there were early signs that he was the right builder to work with. Dean was the only builder who went downtown to review building permits for our property (before we had signed any bid) and he found an issue in our plat agreement that required extra work with the city planning commission. We were grateful Dean spotted an issue before any construction started, as that would have been a headache for both parties. After we resolved the issue with the city and received the building permit, Dean was supportive with providing a bunch of different railing and flooring samples. We ultimately went with the Azek Vintage flooring and CertainTeed railing with aluminum balusters. We appreciated being able to make a last-minute style change even after our signed bid. Dean rolled with the punches and was very flexible with us. Dean was very patient with our frequent questions along the way, and also showed great patience dealing with Mother Nature delaying the project timelines. At all times, he was very punctual in responding to emails and phone calls, and quite frequently he would call us to leave updates. We were never left in the dark as to timelines or logistical details. Ultimately, we are very happy with the final product. The build quality well exceeded our expectations. Dean used UC-4B (heavy duty) kiln-dried pressure treated brown lumber that is infused with trace amounts of copper to prevent wood rot. This is much higher quality lumber than the usual green PT lumber found at hardware stores. The Azek full PVC decking was installed without any issues, and the CertainTeed railing also exceeded our expectations. Dean worked primarily with one other superb assistant to finish the project, and they cleaned up after themselves each day. The new deck was completed in July, and three months later, we are very satisfied with the services rendered and the quality of the final product. While installing a 100% PVC deck turned out to be more expensive than we first anticipated, we are completely satisfied with the final result and plan to enjoy this new deck of ours for at least the next 25 years.

ADean's Deck Construction
Dean did this work a year ago and I had thought I had entered a review at that time, but apparently not. You can not ask for a more thorough conscientious contractor. The quality of his deck is outstanding and needless to say without any problems a year latter.

Becker's construction crew came in, removed the old deck quickly, reframed and built the new deck with Azek Redland Rose decking and trim and finished with the white Azek railing. Cudo's to Azek. The crew said they had not installed Azek railing systems before but felt that it was the best railing system they had ever used. The deck is beautiful and we hope to have a deck party for Memorial Day to officially christen it. The crew was very professional. They asked about features that we wanted and customized everything to our taste. I am very happy with the quality of the materials and of the construction work. The family really like the look and bigger dimensions of the new deck. We did have a cookout on the deck on Saturday, 5/25/2013. It was overcast, windy and a little cold but everyone ate out on the main level of the deck with two tables and a bench. We couldn't have done that with the older, smaller deck. We are looking forward to many years of enjoying the new deck with a lot less maintenance work and cost.

They over-charged for things not requested. The deck work wasn't as requested and have to have redone.

They were timely, communicative and did what they said, which is better than most contractors we have dealt with. Very pleased with the quality of work and choices of color, style and materials offered.

ADean's Deck Construction
It went very well. Dean helped us with the design, permits, and city ordinances. He was punctual, kept his word on when he was coming and what he was doing every work day. He cleaned up the work site every day, kept us informed with the timing of the project. He returned, and had replaced, boards that didn't meet his personal standards. He went above and beyond to match siding materials. He finished off the project, getting extra dirt and moving blocks to the bottom of the steps. The price he quoted was the price we paid. Everything he did passed inspection. He was friendly and easy to work with; highly recommend.
