This was in all respects a terrible experience. First, Mark put in a fence and he did a fairly good job. There were a number of errors on the fence, but after I hired him for another job, Mark assured me he would fix all the errors in the fence. So I hired him to paint my house because he said he painted hundreds of houses and that he "doubled dipped" everything he painted. He said, "This means I first go over the entire house with a primer and then I paint it again with two coats of paint." He said, "It will last your lifetime and be there long after you and I are gone." Once the project was started and I already paid him more than half of the money for supplies, CenterLine Construction did the following: 1. Mark kept saying he did not have enough money to complete the project. So even though the work was not done, and not even half finished he kept saying he needed money. Then he said though the quote included certain things, he did not have enough money to pay for the stuff. So just to get the project done, I had to go buy stuff that he was suppose to have bought, and then have him finish the project. 2. He told me he was going to do all the painting. That he was an expert painter. After the house was not painted (this was after five weeks went by) I said, "Mark, you have to finish this painting and don't ask me for more money." He said, "Okay, I'll get it done. I'll have to call in all sorts of favors to finish this. I'll get my wife and her friend to help." 3. He promised he would prime my house with primer and then paint. He called it "double dipping". He did not prime the house. 4. The garage needs a whole new coat of paint and in spots the first color, white (the one I had painted over) is showing through. A. I've called him several times. I left messages. I've emailed him. He does not respond. 5. He owes me one potting bench which I paid for, but it was never delivered. 6. He fixed some of the errors in the fence, but not all of them. 7. He left a hole in my cement. I asked him to fill it with cement as I could trip on it. It is still not filled in. 7. He was suppose to caulk everything on my house. He said, "Your house will be water proofed by the time I am done." As he was caulking it, I pointed out a number of places that were exposed to the elements. He never filled them. A week ago it rained real heavily. I got water in my basement and I've never had water in my basement. 8. He was suppose to put eaves spouts on my deck. He never put spouts on my deck. I could go on, but I am warning people about Centerline Construction. Mark is a fast and good talker and will make you believe he is the absolute best in the business. I am telling you buyer beware. Please note all the pictures I put on this site.
