Recent Review: This fence is wonderful!  We have a new German Shepherd puppy and wanted something more secure than an electric fence, which we had with our previous Shepherd.  We priced chain link fencing, which  was over twice the cost and, in our opinion, not at all attractive.  This fence is barely visible and blends well with the landscape. Now our dog has lots of room to run and we do not have to be concerned about her getting out of the yard.  We also hope that the fence will keep the deer out, which would be a big plus.  Additionally, it gives us the option of taking in rescue dogs should we choose to do that. Victor was very responsive and the job was done promptly after we signed the contract.  He also offered the great suggestion of extending the fence into a wooded area of our property beyond our yard which gives the dog more room and puts that portion of the fence completely out of sight.  His crew moved wood and trimmed back bushes at no additional cost. I highly recommend Pet Playgroundz to anyone seeking secure a yard for a pet at a very reasonable cost.

Recent Review: Hardline Design and Construction was easy to work with throughout the project from competitive bid through completion of project and removal of all debris in a timely manner. Owner, Adam Lucas was consistently punctual, congenial, and professional; he also visited the site daily to ensure proper subcontractor progress on the project. Hardline Design and Construction built a Japanese gazebo-style cedar grape arbor supported by pressure treated 4x4s set in concrete. They built a cedar arched trellis for my established row of robust evergreen jasmine vines. Both structures were to replace rotted original trellises that Hardline Design and Construction also demolished and removed. It was a difficult space for the workmen, as my old thorny rambling rose that I insisted they save was very robust and had grown through the original grape trellis to top of adjacent garage roof. They also installed new decorative wire dog fences with metal rod supports along entire long driveway from front to back of property, since my garage is at back of my property, to keep my American Greyhound off extensive flower beds along side of back garden. They used chainsaw, pruned, and removed massively overgrown saplings and large ancient rhododendron shrubs that obstructed all of Hardline Design and Construction’s work in the back garden. They also installed a large oval raised herb and vegetable bed in back garden with 2-feet tall decorative curved concrete block surrounds, and removed the two old rotten wood raised bed frames that it replaced ($9,750).

Recent Review: This fencing company was a pleasure to deal with from our first meeting to our last. Polite, punctual and professional, they know agricultural (and residential) fencing, and work extremely hard to provide you with the fencing you have in mind. If that means a return visit to tweak a couple things to make the property owner happy, they are happy to do it. And they did! The owner, Matt Jones, and one of his crew spent a half day here recently to switch out a section of the electric fencing for a different material I'd preferred, at no additional cost to me. They even removed a few posts for me that had no relation to their fencing job (i.e., old clothes lines posts and old garden posts), simply because I asked.

Recent Review: It was a great experience.  I called on three different fence companies and they were quick to respond and came out the next day to give me a quote.  After it was all done and paid for, I actually received a call back from one of the other "top rated" fence companies on Angie's List and let him know that I already had it installed so no longer needed a quote.

Recent Review: Alan came out and bid the job at "no charge". He was eager for the work and was the low bidder out of 2 vendors that came out. He and his son work together. He measured the yard and drew a little drawing of what the job would entail. The fence was to be picket where it was visible from the street with a gate and arbor. The side would be wire on a two by four frame up one side. It would connect to a neighbor's fence in the back and then it would be a wire mesh with metal posts on the "woodsy" side, ending in another section of picket with another gate between the garage and house (he would need to put one post in our concreate pad). He was creative in the solutions he proposed to each of the different challenges. He was about to go away on vacation, but said his son would come and start the job while he was away. Within a week they were able to start and the job took about 3 days. They did exactly what we had agreed on and it is working as advertised - the dogs are staying in the yard.

Recent Review: Crew arrived on time on the projected start date (downside was, because of the summer fence building rush, that start date was three weeks from my desired start date).  The crew chief was Andy.  He kept the job moving steadily along for the two days needed to string the fence.  In fact, they worked through a few hours of rainy weather.  He made sure the job site was cleaned up daily.  The only glitch came when the gates were hung at the end of the second day.  Andy discovered that the gate wheels I had asked to be installed required an extra two inches of clearance between the fence posts.  He returned bright and early the next morning, pulled up and reset the fence posts to the proper spacing and finished hanging the gates.  Andy and his crew took minimum breaks...definitely very happy with the crew's work ethic.  I was very happy with the fence...initially.   Several weeks later I was working along the fence line and noticed that there was a three inch split on a portion of the top cedar rail.  On closer inspection it was obvious that the split was caused by a horseshoe nail that was used to secure the wire dog fencing to the rail.  I inspected the rest of the fence and found two more large splits caused by the horseshoe nails.     After a severe case of procrastination, yesterday I called Rick's and talked to Dave (my salesman/advisor).  This morning Jeremy (supervisor) and Andy arrived.  I showed them the damage and they got right to work and replaced the three split rails.  There was no hassle...just results. Very nice!   The "B" score for price is because fencing is expensive, but remember, you get what you pay for.   The other quote I received for this fence was about the same price.

ADogWatch Hidden Fences of Portland
We had an EXCELLENT experience all the way from start to finish.  Meghan was responsive immediately upon inquiry by email.  We set a date, she installed it as planned and trained our dog.  We fenced around our yard and our next door neighbors', so she had two completely different dogs to train.  Our 1 year old rat terrier and our neighbors' almost 11 year old mixed breed.  Each dog handled the situation differently, posing different challenges, and Meghan was unflappable.  She came out an extra time to continue training our neighbors' dog and did not charge any extra.  Both dogs are doing really well with the fence, and it has been a major lifestyle shift being able to leave the back door open and knowing the dog will stay in the yard.  We are all very pleased and would absolutely recommend Meghan to anyone looking for a hidden fence.  She was also a much better price than her competitor.

ADogWatch Hidden Fences of Portland
I had an excellent experience with Dog Watch Fencing. I have owned dogs for years and have been reluctant to use invisible fencing. Upon moving to the Portland area recently, and living on a busy street with a large unfenced yard, I decided to try it. Every interaction I had with Glenn was informative, helpful, and extremely professional. His calm demeanor, patience, and knowledge were much appreciated. He provided estimates and completed all work in a very timely manner and according to schedule. While he was vacation, Glenn arranged for the services of the previous owner, Megan, who also was wonderful to work with. I felt tended to at all steps of this project. Most importantly, I now feel safe letting our dogs out in the yard. They have learned to respect the boundaries of our property which is no small task, given that one of our four dogs was a rescue dog from Puerto Rico who was used to independently roaming miles and miles of land. The fact that he is now staying in our unfenced yard speaks volumes to the effectiveness of this fencing system. We also had a small device installed near our front door inside the house which works in the same manner as the outside fencing and keeps the dogs from charging to and out the front door whenever someone opens the door. Another feat I never thought possible! One final comment. A few weeks ago I received a hand written note from Glenn, thanking me for purchasing and using his product, and making himself available in the future should any issues arise. The hand written thank you card is, sadly, a dying art, and a gesture that goes miles in solidifying a person/company as a professional, class act. Well done Glenn! Overall an exceedingly rewarding experience, a product that works, and a company that I would have no hesitation in recommending.
