Both my kitchen and bathroom were remodeled by Joseph Johnson....he did the bath a year ago and my kitchen this month....3/2017. He painted cabinets.....did my countertops and tile....flooring, electrical and finish work. Absolutely wonderful work.

Started out hopefully.  Painter had been recommended by Gary's Paints (GP) and appeared to know his business.  I could not be at the house to monitor the work but trusted GP, who told me he did good work.  However it was clear that he had not done any prep work on walls; he did not cut in around the woodwork - leaving wavy lines between walls and woodwork; he slopped paint on cabinets and other surfaces that were not to be painted (including a patio table, where he must have set messy paint cans); he did not give adequate coverage on woodwork; and totally missed  painting several areas on both walls and woodwork.  He admitted coverage was very poor in some areas and did some remedial work  but his attitude was surly. Most of the problems I decided to live with; I wanted just to get him gone and reclaim use of my kitchen. The very last day (when he was touching up areas he had missed) I ensured I was present.  His hands  were incredibly shaky;  I can only speculate why. He may have been a good painter at one time but I was not happy with the work he did on my job.

I really enjoyed working with Tim, Sean, and team from KACI. They were kind, respectful, professional, and incredibly skilled. They were in and out of our house for six days working, and I felt completely comfortable with them around me and my small children. Professionally, they were excellent as well. They spent extra care repairing cracks and dents in these 20-yr old walls to make them look new. I didn't end up liking the color I had picked for my ceilings and wanted to change color after they had already started trimming. I was so thankful that they didn't get frustrated with me at all, and helped me find the best color for my project. They left no drips or dents on any of my floors or cabinets. Tim even advised me on a future renovation project I had been dreaming up. They are not the cheapest in town for sure. We decided to go with them because they seemed really comfortable working with these two-story walls/stairwells, they had been in the paint business for almost 30 years, had an excellent reputation in town, and they seemed to really be able to detect the places on our walls that needed repaired well, and not just spackled. FYI: for the repairs, they used 1-3 coats of drywall mud, smoothed it out, retextured, and placed a new metal bar (our house was built back in the day where the corners were metal) where needed.
