Recent Review: Due to the very small front porch area, I was concerned about the final result, which was to meet ADA specifications.  Prior to contacting them,  I had tried to take notice of other ramp installations in this city, and was surprised to see many that were terrible in appearance and questionable in quality.  GFM came up with a clever design that not only met ADA specs, it was also a great looking solution, blending in easily with the house design and landscaping.  The finished project exceeded my expectations, not only in appearance, but strength and quality of construction, with good attention to detail.  George and Frank showed up at the scheduled time and worked straight thru the day to be able to finish the project before dark.  It would be great if all contractors had their job performance attitude.  I am happy to see a contractor that has a good understanding of ADA specs and handicapped requirements.  In my experience, there are many contractors that have no idea what you are talking about, but GFM does.

Recent Review: Robert and his crew were amazing!   We hired Robert to do a bathroom remodel in order to make it wheelchair accessible.  This involved removing a large window where we used to have a garden tub, rebuilding the wall and putting in a smaller window.  They proceeded to install a borderless tile shower.  It turned out well beyond our expectations.  Every day Todd and Andy were there and placed plywood through the yard to protect the grass, tarp on the deck and floors, along with plastic walls.  Every evening everything was cleaned up and the deck was hosed off, along with cleaning up any debris on the floors.   They replaced our sliding doors with new french doors, which look beautiful and put in a new window in the master bedroom, as well as removing an unused door and replacing it with a smaller window.  They also installed new entry doors for us. Robert never seemed to get impatient with my constant requests for additional things to be done.  All of them were a pleasure to have around our home and we will be looking forward to working with them again in the future.

Recent Review: David was friendly, punctual and conscientious. He arrived on time. He didn't leave until the job was done and he picked up before he left. The finished job looks professional. All cuts are even. All joints are tight. It looks like an original part of the house. The ramp works beautifully, It's very functional. I wish we had done this years ago instead of struggling to get my son in and out of the house over the stairs.

Recent Review: Jay, first and foremost, is a consummate professional who is attentive to detail and is also conscientious about what needs to be done, not done on a job. He is forthright in his estimates and thus far has been close to his estimates when the job is complete. We had a 26" door in our bathroom which had to be removed and replaced with a 30" door so that our niece could go in and out of the bathroom with her wheelchair. Jay moved the light/fan switch, cut out an additional 4" or so to expand the width of the door jam. Once completed, he then installed several pieces of tiles, painted the areas and materials requiring paint, and installed the new door. We and my niece are very appreciative of Jay's work. It exhibits quality through his workmanship. We have a Tuff Shed in the back. As most of you know, Oregon weather can take a toll on sheds and roofs. Jay removed all the old trims (which were made of cheap pressed cardboard material), painted and installed new hardwood trims, sealing it, and then nailing it. We are now assured of at least 10 more years with this shed, thanks to Jay's work. Back door is metal. We asked him to remove the door and paint it with an exterior paint which will hold up to moisture and the wind. Jay did an outstanding job on that. Jay installed two new pendant lights in the kitchen above our kitchen island. Did a very nice job on that.  If I want professional work, I will continue to use Jay and J and S Home Maintenance. I would also encourage Jay to look serving the disabled community. He would be an asset to that area as well. We got quotes from several firms who claim to serve that community. Jay's price came MUCH lower than them. It just makes me wonder why these "specialty" firms charge so much more.

Recent Review: A+ right down to the cement pad landing. Cliff and Clint tied the ramp into a existing exterior stairway, maintaining the ADA specifications of 12:1 run-to-rise ratioo. The deck is freestanding, easily removable and well built. He is my go to guy for all large scale contracting needs.

My client is a disabled young woman who uses an electric wheelchair. He came out on time, and of the three bids, his was the best price and the most detailed. He described what the handrails would look like, where the platform would be, how long it would take to build, what type of weather conditions we would need etc. He allowed the family to do some demo to reduce the overall cost. He was a very good person to work with and was very patient through a lot of bureaucratic red tape. I strongly recommend him. The ramp came out beautifully.

AZilka Construction
Mr. Zilka was very considerate of my grandfather's needs. He also explained what he was doing (I live about 45 miles away from my grandfather and was unable to oversee the construction.) and he kept me apprised on the progress. My grandfather and I are very happy with the results. I was unable to supervise do to the distance from my home to my grandfather's, but the work was completed in a timely manner and on budget. My grandfather really enjoyed having Mr. Zilka construct his ramp and said that he was very courteous.

ASystem Pavers
We found System Pavers at a neighborhood street fair in August and received a response to our inquiry within two days. The company worked with us on a bid to rebuild our aging patio. While we were told it could be up to four months to get to the project, we were able to have the project started in less than 12 weeks. The company worked with us to build a beautiful new patio with a custom access ramp for our disabled son. Additionally, we added width to our driveway and created a wheelchair landing ramp in our landing strip. The work was completed in just over a week and is very beautiful. The crews were courteous, the cleanup was immaculate and the finished result is stunning. The work is guaranteed for 25 years. We are extremely happy with the final result.

I was really happy with them. They did some work in my home. They're like some handyman, I guess. Now they are going to come to do my gutter cleaning. They were nice, they were straight. I was really happy with what they did. I think they were on time.
