We asked for an initial bid for the project, which came in far too high for our project. Mr Tignor reworked the bid to an acceptable amount and we accepted. We paid for materials in mid March, and then heard nothing for almost three months, despite numerous calls from us and the general contractor. When he finally contacted us, he wanted to work inside the home - with an acetylene torch - we said no. He countered with a $1500 fee for fabricating at his shop and transport (1.5 miles away). We settled for his using our garage. With other delays, he finally installed the railings in July. The railing itself is well done, however the weld joints are rather bulky. We paid the final invoice at completion on the work and installation. Two weeks later, Mr Tignor presented us another invoice with an additional $300. He also said that some straps and ramps were taken from his trailer by the contractor's crew. We referred him to our general contractor. Efforts to settle his extra charges have been lengthy and hostile. Two weeks ago, Mr Tignor unbolted the exterior railing and removed it. In addition, the telescoping scaffolding that was next to the exterior railing was also taken. Despite calls from us, the general contractor, and a visit from the King County Sheriff, he has not returned the railing. He is not returning phone calls. We currently are initiating legal action to get the railing returned and reinstalled.

AWest Coast Stair Co
Jim at West Coast Stair Company installed our stair case and it is absolutely beautiful. It is very well constructed and the attention to detail is obvious. Jim is a true craftsmen, and perfectionist, and takes pride in his work. Jim was also great to work with! Being a home owner doing my first large home renovation, I ran into many issues with contractors and scheduling. Most contractors won’t help with anything even slightly outside their job description. Jim, on the other hand, was extremely helpful with advice and did a few extra things that really helped the renovation go smoothly. I really appreciated his attention to detail and eagerness to help and do great work. I highly recommend Jim and West Coast Stair Company!

AFERDI CONSTRUCTION, LLC
Junio is amazing and very responsive to questions/inquires! He finished all the work in a timely manner and we were very impressed with the results! We had many things need to fixed inside the house, he gave us a decent quote especially when we need the works to be completed in a short period of time! Gutter cleaning was added last minute, but he even fixed the loose leaking part of the gutter for us! We will definitely hire him for any work needed in the future!! Highly recommended to anyone needing a good handyman!

AAdvanced Professional Handyman
We originally asked Mark to replace a few steps on an outdoor staircase. He was quick to show us that the staircase had actually become dangerously unstable and needed to be replaced entirely - it was almost all rotted and someone would have taken a scary fall if he hadn't called our attention to the scary underside of the structure. He did this by calling us immediately and sending photos. I really appreciated how he quickly laid out options and worked with us flexibly on how we wanted to proceed. He is very careful to approve every estimate before beginning work. He took the rotted staircase down quickly and built a new one in its place. Even the temporary staircase was much better than the old staircase. I highly recommend Mark and his company.

ABOB OF ALL TRADES
Bob is on our short list of contractors who actually answer the phone and return messages promptly. He's extremely responsive and always shows up when scheduled. He came over to give an estimate and see all the work that needs to be done. Bob was very up front about his skills, experience, and comfort level with different aspects of home repair. He asks good questions and follows up with lots of information, so there are no surprises. When he installed the stairs, he was professional and very careful about keeping the work area clean. The final product was a set of safe, attractive stairs. He charges a fair rate and bills only for time and materials.

ABallard Ornamental Iron Works Inc
Ballard Ironworks came out to look at our steps, proposed a solution, gave a us a quote, and installed the railing. They were very professional, prompt and went out of their way to make sure we had the handrail we needed. I highly recommend them. Thank you!

FCascade Stair Company
Cascade Stair Company came to my house on 9/5/15 to look at my staircase, for the purpose of providing an estimate for restoration. My staircase had been carpeted for years, and when I pulled the carpet off, I found only plywood stairs underneath. The man who came to my house was extremely nice, spent a fair amount of time here, and appeared to be very professional. He took measurements, spoke with me about different types of wood choices, and explained the restoration process to me. He told me he could most likely get the estimate to me on Monday, because it was Labor Day and he planned to work on Labor Day. Monday came and went, as did a couple more weeks, and I still did not have an estimate. I called him on his cell phone to check on the status of the estimate, but I didn't reach him and had to leave a message. He never returned my call. Several days later I called the office number and got the same results - had to leave a message, and no one returned my call. I'll never understand why some businesses operate this way, rather than informing potential customers that they cannot do the job, or don't want to do the job, or are running behind. The company's visit to my home went really well, but it was apparently wasted time since I never got either an estimate or even a phone call after, as of today, 3-1/2 weeks.

AEastside Residential Renovations
Mark is extremely professional, hard working, sincere to his words and does the work to perfection. His quote/estimation exactly matched the end product in terms of pricing and quality of materials used. He kept us informed on any changes or unknowns that come along the way in any such project and did help us complete the work on time with highest quality even when there was a huge time pressure. We did not find any difference in the quality or color or appearance or paints or the finish in general of new walls when compared to the existing ones. He ensured each stage of the work is completed with perfection and that showed itself when the entire project completed. He also did other paint, minor works in parallel to the remodel. We will hire Mark for any of our future remodels/repairs and highly recommend to others as well.
Recent Review: When we started the job we had a good idea on what we wanted . Joseph took those ideas and refined them to make them much better than what we ever thought it would be . I would definitely hire Joseph again for any other projects .
Recent Review: We used potter construction small job service to install a new under stairs 'hidden closet. Job was relatively simple and took approximately 4 hours of construction time and 2 hours of materials time. Carpenter was very professional, did an excellent job with the finish work and cleaned up after job was complete. We did not use them to finish the inside or to paint as the hourly cost for work we could perform was a little higher than desired (didn't want to pay finish carpenter rate for painting).

Recent Review: What a transformation! Dave is very quality oriented in his work and did good work with an attention to details. His precision is very important and contributed to a very nice finished product. He also pointed out issues with the previous installation of the rails which were not anchored correctly to the wall. The new rails are very solid. He provided me with options and suggestions, which were great as I had not any previous experience with stair rail installations. He is very busy so be prepared to get on the waiting list. Also, note that he does not perform the staining or trim paint work on the stairs but does recommend others who can do that work.
