Recent Review: It went well.  Minimal labor cost, most was the part. The part did have to be ordered and he did not charge any labor when he returned to install it. Seemed efficient and competent compared to the first company that tried to fix it.

Recent Review: I called 5 minutes after his office opened at 8 a.m. and he answered personally. I described the problem with my GE stove and gave him the model number. I asked him if he could come that same day and he was at my house in about 30 minutes. His 44 years of experience enabled him to go directly to the problem which he fixed. I have a drop-in range which he pulled out to do the repair. He was kind enough to ask if I would like to sweep behind the stove before he pushed it back in place. He was in and out within about 30 minutes. Super knowledgeable and professional. You couldn't ask for better than Jerry.

Recent Review: He found it to be in perfect working order. I thought my two front burners had broken as they weren't heating to the full 10" diameter. Rather than just ordering the parts Kerry came out to make sure that was the problem. What he found was that there is a switch for each of those burners that will adjust the heating diameter to either 4" or 10". They had both accidentally gotten set on the 4" diameter. He then called to tell me what the problem was and also gave me some tips on how to best use the glass top based on how it functions. I've used Kerry for appliances for at least the last 8-10 years and love his integrity, honesty and skill. I once had an ice maker that wasn't freezing the cubes totally. When I asked him about it, he asked if the unit was in the sun at all. I said, Yes...in the afternoon. He suggested I  block the window with a blind and see what happens to the ice. The ice maker worked perfectly after that. He will never "fix" something that doesn't need fixing! I will never use anyone other than Kerry for any of my appliances. So he better outlive me!

Recent Review: We should have known at the beginning this job was going to stink bad and we were being taken for a ride. We were supposed to start at the end of July 2008, after the 20th due to a party we were having prior to the remodel. Kitchen Tune-up (KTU) called in late spring, asking if we wanted to start June 20-something. NO! After the 20th of July, or didn't he read his notes before he called? We demoed the kitchen from July 23rd to July 29th, as KTU was supposed to start on the 30th. Yep, they started as advertised, scraping the kitchen/dining room area on the first 2 days. After that, the project went downhill--like on a black diamond run at a ski hill, gaining speed, in search of a crash site in the trees preferably with a large rock at the end. (At least that's what it felt like by the end of the project 3 months later, as in Oct 25th.) The next thing that was supposed to happen was base cabinet installation according to the owner. The worker, however, installed the upper cabinets which was the sensible way to install them so the base cabinets weren't in the way. But, when they hung the uppers, they were CROOKED!!! Not square, not level, not even close. There were 3 or 4 holes drilled to find studs, meaning I had 3 or 4 holes in the back of my cabinets covered up with a dirty sticker for each hole! I guess they didn't own a stud finder? On workday 4, all work slowed, became spotty at best for the rest of the job and the workmanship deteriorated exponentially. What should have been a 3-week TOPS project was drawn out to 3 months. The final straw was finding out our cabinets were actually 3/4 inch shorter than the standard counter height of 36 inches which meant our freestanding flat-top stove that was supposed to slide in and be even with the countertops was now USELESS to us. The granite countertops were already set with a jumper bar that was supposed to bump up to the back of the flat cooktop framing it nicely, so our only choice was to get another slide-in stove that had a back on it instead. The jumper bar was removed after a herculean effort by the granite guy. Granted, KTU paid for half of the new stove but it was their own fault. It got so bad and stupid that the workers GLUED the lazy susan in place (what???) and even threw their joint compound wastewater into our bushes. When asked by the owner to pick up the chunks of compound in the bushes, the worker chucked them into the street instead. Anyhow, both workers were eventually fired then stole KTU's tools the same day, KTU lost our house key (they bought us a new lockset), more than half of the handles were installed crooked by those workers they fired, and several of our walls/ceilings/doorjambs were riddled with minor damage. The shame of it all was 6 out of 8 KTU "trust points" were broken by the 12th workday, yet the owner thought our job was going great. Not very perceptive, that one. After this experience, I tell everyone I know NOT TO HIRE KITCHEN TUNE-UP.

Once the work was done everything went fine. This work was done at a rental property and there was a lot of complications. There should be a "maybe" button, because neither yes nor no can adequately cover the situation.

AQuality Stoves & Home Furnishings Inc
I knew I wanted a Lopi stove and and quot;Quality Stoves and Home Furnishings Inc.and quot; in the Lopi representative in our area. I like to read reviews by other consumers and hoped to find one on Quality Stoves. However, the only review I found was very negative. In fact it was so negative I wondered about it. Nevertheless, I visited the store in Post Falls, Idaho. The store itself is a pleasant experience and I found a variety of models of Lopi stoves as well as several other well known brands. The showroom has plenty of room to display the different models making it easy to compare the features and designs. We were happy to discover that this is a family business and found Jeff and his family to be courteous, knowledgeable and professional. We ordered our new stove and set a date for the installation. Jeff's installers arrived on time and began work as promised. They were courteous and clean, taking care not to track in the snow and mud outside; and despite the adverse weather they were able to complete our installation in one day, something I did not expect but really appreciate. My wife and I highly recommend this business to anyone considering the purchase of a wood burning stove.

DAvery Appliance Service
I initially called another appliance service provider whose was unable to respond for a couple of weeks and they referred my to Avery. The technician was here for a very long time and did not seem to be able to figure out what the problem was on the range and why the switches did not seem to work.  He replaced the switches but the stove top did not work.  I called him to come back the next day and he was unable to fix it.  I believe he charged me again the hourly rate and left.  I then called another service company, my original choice, (Jeffrey's Appliance) who eventually came out tested the range top and immediately replaced the circuit board for $412.35.  So we now had $800.00 investment on an $1200.00 range that was only 5 years old. The Avery technician did tell me right away that the dishwasher needed to be replaced and he did not spend more than a few minutes looking at it before it was clear that it did need to be replaced.
